Story

Nakano turned 6 years old on July 25 of this year. She is a purebred Belgain Mallanois who was purchased from MalMan K9 breeders in Pleasanton, CA. She is a wonderful dog, no health or behavioural issues whatsoever. We have all of her breeder paperwork as well as her full veterinary visit history. She is fully up-to-date with shots. We are planning to retire to Italy and cannot bring her with us so we are looking for a great new home for her.

Hound is not actually a hound-dog, but it was already his official name when he arrived at the shelter. We’re not exactly sure of his exact breed mix, but he’s 100% gorgeous. Hound has a silky black coat and a sweet personality to match. He’s young and energetic, and really likes to be around his people. Hound is very social and loves to get out and to be engaged. He appears housetrained and also walks nicely on leash, not reacting to other dogs and sometimes seeming barely to notice them. When he does, he seems to want to play. Hound also loves treats and should be a breeze to train because he is so attentive. He is an option for just about any family and hopes to meet you soon.

She is very obedient and being around people comfortably. She is good with dogs and behaves very well when meeting other dogs outdoors; Fan would share her toy and food without getting into fight. She is easy-going by nature; friendly with strangers, kids, other dogs, and cats. She is house & crate trained; a good rider in the car; no barking or chewing behaviors. Fan can fit into any type of family quickly; she will make a great companion pet at home; and a good walking or hiking partner! Fan-Fan’s rescue story: Fan and her two siblings were strays found at a bus parking lot since very young age. The parking lot owner said someone abandoned them when they were around 2-m-o. The parking lot owner just provide food to them but has no intention to keep them for his own; so he contacted us to help finding home for them. Fan went through a complete physical, unfortunately was found with heartworm. After months of thorough treatments, she is fully recovered and has received a clean bill of health. A super lovely, easy going Malinois! A people pleaser who keeps pace with her person - Run? SURE! Walk, no problem! Ride in the car - ready! Hiking, adventures - learning tricks, par course, agility - climbing, circus dog, playgirl, she is not dominant nor Beta...she is looking to bond and be someone's everything! Very cool dog, she "sit's pretty" and knows other things and is super willing to learn more! Clever, love dog. Updated notes from her foster: Mavis is still the super sweet, loving, goofy leaner she was when she came into Milo and the first assessment was made. I don't have a lot of experience with Mal's so I imagine that she is perhaps mellow for a Malinois, she is definitely not a mellow dog and would really benefit from a breed experienced or working dog experienced home. She is extremely prey driven (squirrels), even though she initially tested ok with cats at MPR....I wouldn't recommend a home with cats or small animals. She has been good with my family's small dogs (though they don't like her due to her size) she has been completely non-reactive to them when they bark at her. On leash, she is about 90% good with meeting new dogs of all sizes, however, if a big dog reacts to her - she will respond in turn with barking or sometimes growling but none of it seems aggressive at all and I think it's more about lack of socialization than anything. I have not tried to have her off-leash because she is extremely fast and agile (can jump very high) and when she is stimulated (sees a squirrel) she literally cannot hear commands and I am not confident enough about her recall to try this. She is actually very calm and mellow in the house, however, she gets very excited/stimulated when we're outside - on walks/hikes. She is not a great leash walker and pulls a lot - I am trying to work with her on heel training, but when she's outside she is not very food motivated so I really have to come up with distractions to get her to focus back on me while walking. She will yip and literally jump and do flips ON LEASH to try and run after the dogs or squirrels. She does not love being left alone or separated from the "pack" at all - so I'd def describe her as a velcro dog. I have been able to leave her home alone for short periods of time, but she doesn't like it at all so she would do best in a home where maybe someone works from home or at least one person is home most of the day. She is wonderful with my nephews (age 3.5 and 8 mos) and is super gentle and tolerant of them. I wouldn't say that she loves kids and seeks out their attention, but she is really good with them when they want to pet and play with her. She of course LOVES people and pets and when she's not over stimulated and is really smart and obedient. She has learned "Place", "Leave it" and already knew Sit, Down, Sit Pretty when we got her. She is such a great dog and would really flourish with some advanced training. 9/2024

Hello, Meet Tidus, a German Sherperd Bordie Collie mix. He is currently 9 weeks old as of today of writing this (10/13/24) with is birthday being August 10 2024. I was able to receive him from a friend who had a litter of 9. He originally was an outdoor puppy with his mom and siblings from who I received Tidus from. He is a really energetic little puppy who really needs a home with a lot of room to run around and expend his energy who can match the level of excitement and love he is already giving at his 9 weeks of age. He loves running around and chasing me around the house while also enjoying to play fetch with some success with his balls and crinkly toys. To date he only has his DHPP vaccine - pending other necessary vaccinations as he gets older by recommendation of his Veterinary due to his young age.

Chip has truly blossomed in his foster home and is becoming "one of the pack". His foster mom has nothing but high praises for this handsome guy "Gosh...he is so sweet", "A couple of times he has initiated play with our females [GSDs] and it's adorable", "He does love getting a ball outside and carrying it around. We gave in an inside ball to, to chew on, in the house, which he will do sometimes. Mostly, he loafs around with the rest of the pack. We are so enjoying this guy". Chip has had a couple of interactions with their cat and basically ignores him. He even walked right past him and since he didn't care, neither did the cat. Chip will make a wonderful companion for some lucky adopter. ---------------------------------------------------------- Chip is a sweet boy shamefully neglected and is believed to have been dumped at the Modesto reservoir! Golden State German Shepherd Rescue evaluated this gorgeous male and he passed our temp test with flying colors!! Chip, can be talkative in his kennel and is friendly. Chip is a curious boy, but he also likes to lay down and relax. He walks well on a leash and he know "sit". When he wants pets, he may nude you or put his head on your lap! In the Stanislaus shelter, he loved splashing in the pool and carrying toys and dipping them in the water. He throws toys for himself and then runs around and collects them all. He doesn’t seem to know to bring them back to a person but maybe he never was taught. In the kennel, he has been a perfect gentleman and is very respectful of everyone and everything...except his water bowl!
