I am in a foster home and not at the shelter. If you are interested in adopting, submit an adoption questionnaire by email. Learn more hereJenga is a wonderfully wild and bouncy pup. He's a combination of both shy and playful, and is a loving puppy ready to find his family. Like all puppies will, he's in a stage of "mouthiness" and needs appropriate things to chew on (like toys!) and reminders of what not to chew (like shoes or toes!). No cats, bunnies or rodents for Jenga - he has significant prey drive. Jenga will thrive with an active family. He is patient and calm during car rides, great on leash, and responds very well when called. Catch up on his foster adventures on Instagram @dogisbond (he had a blast at the beach)! If you can nurture this super happy pup with positive reinforcement training and plenty of adventures, submit an application to meet him! Click HERE to learn how to adopt. Story
Hello! My name is Tank and I am a two-years old, 106-pound, neutered male Akita Mix dog looking for a forever home. I am a bit anxious when introduced to new places and would like to be allowed to take my time to adjust. I am treat motivated and love to get pets. I have a lot strength and can be tough to walk if my person is not used to walking big guys like me. I would greatly benefit from being the only dog in the household due to me not being the most social when it comes to meeting other dogs. I need a human to match my high energy because I love to play and run around. On the flip side, I am very affectionate and will long for your attention. If I sound like the perfect dog for your household, then please come in to the shelter to get more information about my history and personality. I look forward to meeting with you!  Tank - ID #A925738 If you are interested in meeting with me, please submit your fully completed Adoption Profile Form to adoptinquire@peninsulahumanesociety.org and an adoption counselor will call you to conduct a phone interview before making an appointment to meet in person. You must be 18 or older to submit an application. Please make sure to include in the application that you are interested in meeting me! Story
Obie (short for Old Boy) is a sweet old boy looking for a comfy couch to call his own. He has a beautiful fluffy coat that he enjoys a nice brushing of. Obie is a quiet and dignified couch potato. He is fine with everyone but particularly loves men. He loves ear scratches and a nice snooze. Obie is currently on medication for seizures. He takes this medication twice a day and it has greatly reduced his occurrence of seizures. He takes his medications easily if hidden in cream cheese, sour cream or yogurt. Obie is house trained with a doggie door right now. He enjoys spending his afternoons outside relaxing. He can be scared by loud things like fireworks but has done well with CBD as needed for this very specific anxiety. Obie does not really care for treats or toys. Treats he has enjoyed for training include lamb roast, mashed potatoes and eggs. He thinks vegetables are yucky. He seems to have been new to dog food but has taken to it well with some patience. Obie currently lives with another large dog and gets along well with her. She will even snap at him sometimes and he will not really react. He simply wants to be her friend. We also believe Obie will be fine with mannerly children. He has met toddlers and takes care to not knock them over. When meeting cats indoors, Obie was excited but did not necessarily exhibit high prey drive. He allowed his foster mom to call him back as she removed the cat. When he sees cats outdoors he like to try to chase them, though this is true of most dogs (even those that live with cats). All Better World Rescue dogs qualify for private and/or group training at no additional cost to help ensure a successful adoption. To meet Obie, fill out our short adoption application: www.betterworldrescue.org/adoption-application Once an application is filled out, our volunteers will reach out to you within one business day to answer any questions and schedule a meet and greet.

Story
Buddy is ready for a new buddy. He is an interesting looking dog, with a wavy coat that seems to be a mixture of many breeds. His coat is soft and luscious. Buddy is a well-behaved dog who can be a tad shy at first, but he warms up quickly. He knows his basic commands like “sit” and “down.” And he is very treat motivated, so should be a dream to train. We’re working on teaching him not to pull as much on leash – he is pretty strong. He’d make a great hiking or running buddy, since he likes to explore and has plenty of energy. He also likes to chase squeaky balls, so his adopter is in for a lot of fun!

Story
Dingo looks and acts like a dingo. He is a little bit wise old soul, and a little bit (ok, a lot) puppy. He is very playful and wants to engage with all of his human friends. He likes to go out for walks, but is still a little bit intimidated by lots of things. His go-to behavior is to bark at things unfamiliar (dogs and sometimes people), but it is very easy to redirect his energy with treats. He should be fun to train because he loves his people and his treats. As he is still young, Dingo has lots of energy for play. He’s looking for his forever home so he can finish growing up into a fine young man.

Story
Everybody loves Newt immediately. He is a big guy, but very gentle and well behaved. He loves people and getting out for walks. He is generally calm, but doesn’t love it when other dogs are off leash and running around him. Newt wants everyone to be as much of a gentleman as he is, and models good behavior for all. He seems to be housetrained and very much appreciates breaks from his kennel. He will make a wonderful and loyal member of his new family.
