Story
Meet Daphne! Daphne, a young Female Dutch Shepherd mix, who definitely knows her name.   She has the basic commands of come, sit and lay down, We are working on stay.  At meal time she quietly sits waiting for her bowl.  With time she will not inhale her food thinking someone else will get it.  I can put my hand in her bowl without her being aggressive it.  Loves treats and takes them gently with when put in an open hand.  Daphne is crated at night and during the day while I’m at work.  I put a bone in her crate that is smeared with natural peanut butter as she is content!  I leave the door to her crate open and she goes inside to hang out, safe space. Potty trained- as soon as I let her out of the crate she heads outside and does her business, praising her for good potty outside.  Loves toys of all kinds - her goal is to remove the squeaker.  Heavy duty toys for her is a big plus.  Loves to have her belly rubbed. The leash, if she sees the car she puts the brakes on and hard to move her towards it.  Taking small steps with her wearing the leash and being in the backyard. She is fine with the other dogs she has met, the only barking or sounds from her is when you leave her out of the crate, she’s excited you are there. dult: 1-6 yrs $400.00 Each of our dogs are fully vaccinated to include Bordetella, DHLPP and Rabies. We deworm and microchip each dog as well as spay or neuter. Our adoption process includes an initial conversation about the dog to see if the dog is a good match or if another dog could be a more suitable match. We also will complete a home visit. It should be noted that our adoption counselors know the dogs and can best guide any possible adopter with a suitable match. Please visit https://www.calpaws.org/available-dogs for the adoption application! We are always in need of experienced fosters for the amount of dogs we have coming in. Being a foster is such a rewarding experience. If you are interested please review https://www.calpaws.org/fostering   ##1939262##

Max, neutered male, 1-year-old, 38-lbs If you would like to give Max a forever home, please contact abetterchancerescue@gmail.com OR log onto abetterchancerescue.org to fill out online application Meet Max! Max is a mellow and cheerful young pup with loving nature. He is close to humans, always greet people with a big smile and non-stop wagging tail and hip. He is super smart and aimed to please, so is easy to train. Around the house he obeys rules, has good judgement, and good self-discipline. He waits patiently before eating his food, before going thru doorways, and when getting in and out of the car. He checks-in often with his human, sitting very still and gazing up politely. He loves the head/tummy rubs and cuddling that follows. He loves to eat and gets excited before taking a walk, but will heed to command well. Max is crate trained to sleep overnight and potty trained to go outside. His favorite pastime is his daily walks, and romping around with doggie friends in the park. Story
Hi, I wanted to give up my dog for adoption because both my wife and I have recent had a busier schedule. We wanted to find a home for her where she can receive the attention she deserves. She is a loving dog, super friendly, gets along with all dogs and people she meets and just wants to be loved. Looking for a good home for her. She is on one prescription, and joint treatment but otherwise she's a healthy girl.

I am in a foster home and not at the shelter. If you are interested in adopting, submit an adoption questionnaire by email. Learn more hereHello from Milo! Milo is a gentle and loving soul. This sweet boy may have had a rough start in life, but he has made tremendous strides in improving his social abilities in his foster home. He was once fearful and nervous around new situations and people. Now, he eagerly welcomes guests to his home, wagging his tail in excitement for some tasty treats. He's even conquered his fear of passing strangers on the leash! (He still may have some stranger danger but it's getting better every day.) Fosters have reported that Milo is a playful and healthy pup who loves nothing more than being outside, playing, and exploring with his furry foster doggie siblings. He's full of affection and adores being petted, and his favorite place to cuddle up is right next to his beloved humans on the bed. His foster family calls him "Sunny Boy"! Milo is a good sleeper, sleeping soundly through the night, too. Milo will thrive in a calm and quiet household and environment, with routine and consistency so that he can continue to feel safe. He has learned to be a more confident dog! While Milo's past makes it hard to predict how he'll react around children or cats, one thing is for sure: this dog is full of love and loyalty, waiting for the perfect family to give him the love and care he deserves. With his good nature and willingness to learn, Milo is ready to be a faithful companion for life. Could you be the one to give him the loving home he's been waiting for? Milo is about 3 years old and weighs 62 lbs. He would prefer a quiet and adult-only home at this time. Click HERE to learn how to adopt Milo.&#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143   March 30, 2024, 12:55 am

Story
I am in a foster home and not at the shelter. If you are interested in adopting, submit an adoption questionnaire by email. Learn more hereTomasa is an absolute sweetheart! In foster, she's a pro in the house - housebroken and well-behaved, she gets along famously with her two canine foster brothers. She's polite and doesn't counter surf or chew, but she'd gladly join you on the furniture if given the chance. This gorgeous girl can be trusted to stay alone in the house, enjoying her freedom and outdoor access but of course prefers as much together time as possible with her humans. She bonds quickly and firmly to her family. Tomasa does get nervous around other unknown dogs in the community and needs to be introduced to new easy-going dog friends in a controlled environment. Her ideal home is one in a quiet neighborhood with a yard. She loves to chase a ball or hang with her foster dog brothers and she absolutely adores all humans. Although Tomasa loves her foster home she is ready to fall in love with her loving forever family! &#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143 Follow her foster adventures @adopt_oas_tomasa on Instagram, and click HERE to learn how to adopt!           View this post on Instagram                       A post shared by Oakland Animal Services (OAS) (@oaklandanimalservices) March 30, 2024, 12:55 am
