Story
Brindle, bright-eyed, and full of heart, Diesel is the best mix of athlete and goofball. He loves people, makes soft eye contact, and is eager to work for treats or toys-classic Dutchie! His favorite toy is a blue & pink rugby ball. He has done well meeting friendly dogs with proper introductions and respectful play. He gets excited fast and will need someone to give him proper outlet and structure. We recommend a working-breed-savvy, active home that enjoys training and enrichment. Teens/older kids who can participate in his routine could work; cats are unknown. After activity, he settles nicely and leans in for affection-loyal, attentive, and ready to be someone's shadow. If you've been looking for a smart partner to adventure with and train, this boy is your guy. Quick highlights 1.5 years old, Dutch Shepherd (brindle male) • Social, affectionate, toy & food motivated (loves fetch) • Enjoys hikes/runs/training games • Dog-friendly with proper intro; cats unknown • Best with shepherd-savvy, active adopters Diesel is neutered, microchipped and vaccinated. He's currently located in Vallejo CA

Story
Xena is a playful, goofy puppy who loves to demonstrate her zoomie technique and then quickly return to you for a tasty treat. She is energetic but has a good off switch inside. She is a bit cautious and prefers to take her time to get comfortable with new things, so time and patience win the day. She will be at her best in a moderately active environment and would do well with other dogs that have a similar play style.

Story
Obie (short for Old Boy) is a sweet old boy looking for a comfy couch to call his own. He has a beautiful fluffy coat that he enjoys a nice brushing of. Obie is a quiet and dignified couch potato. He is fine with everyone but particularly loves men. He loves ear scratches and a nice snooze. Obie is currently on medication for seizures. He takes this medication twice a day and it has greatly reduced his occurrence of seizures. He takes his medications easily if hidden in cream cheese, sour cream or yogurt. Obie is house trained with a doggie door right now. He enjoys spending his afternoons outside relaxing. He can be scared by loud things like fireworks but has done well with CBD as needed for this very specific anxiety. Obie does not really care for treats or toys. Treats he has enjoyed for training include lamb roast, mashed potatoes and eggs. He thinks vegetables are yucky. He seems to have been new to dog food but has taken to it well with some patience. Obie previously lived with another large dog and got along well with her. She would even snap at him sometimes and he would not really react. He simply wanted to be her friend. We also believe Obie will be fine with mannerly children. He has met toddlers and takes care to not knock them over. When meeting cats indoors, Obie was excited but did not necessarily exhibit high prey drive. He allowed his foster mom to call him back as she removed the cat. When he sees cats outdoors he like to try to chase them, though this is true of most dogs (even those that live with cats). All Better World Rescue dogs qualify for private and/or group training at no additional cost to help ensure a successful adoption. To meet Obie, fill out our short adoption application: www.betterworldrescue.org/adoption-application Once an application is filled out, our volunteers will reach out to you within one business day to answer any questions and schedule a meet and greet.

Story
I am in a foster home and not at the shelter. If you are interested in adopting, submit an adoption questionnaire by email. Learn more hereKris is an 8-year-old, 70-pound sweetheart who may be a senior on paper, but he’s got the athleticism and enthusiasm of a younger dog. He’s playful and can catch a ball midair like an absolute champ. If fetch is your love language, Kris is already fluent! His foster family reports Kris is the definition of easy. He’s fully potty trained, relaxed, and happy to entertain himself with toys or settle in beside you once he’s had his fun. He has wonderful house manners and has an all-around good-natured temperament. He knows cues like sit, enjoys learning, and loves pleasing his people. He’s excellent on leash, making walks smooth and enjoyable. He’s curious and loves exploring, but always with a calm, steady energy. Kris was a family dog before arriving at the shelter, and you can feel how ready he is to be part of a home again. He’d be happy as your one-and-only companion or potentially a good match for another mellow dog. This smiley gentleman can’t wait to meet the new family he’ll love forever.
