Story
Hello! My ex-wife and I adopted Brisket from Front Street Animal Shelter in Sacramento when she was under a year old in early 2020. The shelter believes she's a Dutch Shepherd mix. She's fully house-trained, has never had an accident, and doesn’t destroy anything except her toys. Brisket is generally good with people but can get anxious in loud environments (parties, live music, construction) and has nipped at guests before. She barks at outside noises or deliveries with a deep bark, but stops after a few seconds. At home, she’s okay with other dogs as long as they don’t bother her; if they do, she’ll growl or slap them. She also has some leash aggression when directly approaching other dogs during walks. Brisket is very loving but has always been a bit fearful, though she’s improved over time. She’d likely do best in a calm home with someone who enjoys a smart and loving dog.

Story
Guinness is a loyal and a loving girl, a joyful companion. I can not provide her the space and time she requires to be happy. She loves to run, agility training, play hide-and-seek/fetch and go on long walks. She is extremely energetic, and is very playful with dogs. At home, she likes to relax. She is potty trained and does not react to people or dogs on leash. She is always kind and patient with children. She can be vocal, shy or fearful at times, and she is not good with change. She needs a stable routine,a big garden to roam around all day and protect from any intruders. It takes her some time to bond, but once she gets used to you she is very sweet. She is usually good with dogs, but she can be reactive due her past trauma. (She was extremely submissive and got bitten multiple times, as a result, she can not tolerate barking or reactive dogs). If there is another dog in her new home, it would be ideal for her but it's best that her sibling is playful, non-reactive and as big as her.

Story
Meet Tyrone, a handsome 1-year-old Shepherd Husky mix with a playful spirit and lots of affection to give. Tyrone is a friendly, energetic pup who enjoys spending time with people and exploring the world around him. When meeting new people, Tyrone can be a little shy at first, but he warms up quickly. Once he feels comfortable, he happily leans in for pets and enjoys being close to his handlers. He’s an affectionate dog who often curls his body toward people and seeks out gentle attention. Tyrone has a moderate to high energy level and loves to run, explore, and play in the yard. Treats are a big motivator for him, which will make training fun and rewarding for both him and his future family. He will benefit from continued leash training, as he can pull strongly and sometimes gets frustrated if he wants to move in a different direction. Around other dogs, Tyrone has shown friendly but somewhat neutral social behavior. He may greet politely and sniff, but tends to move away if another dog becomes too pushy or overly energetic. A dog-to-dog meet is recommended for any potential canine housemates. Tyrone does have an old fracture in his left femur that healed before arriving at the shelter, and he may show some limping or weakness in his hind end at times. With the right home, this playful boy has the potential to grow into an incredibly loyal best friend.

Story
Meet Tucker, a 1-year-old German Shepherd / Siberian Husky mix with the intelligence, energy, and personality you’d expect from these incredible breeds. Tucker is a friendly dog who enjoys interacting with people, though he may seem a little aloof at first. Once he has a moment to warm up, his affectionate side comes out; he’ll lean gently into his handler, curl his body toward them, or rest his head against them for attention. As a young working-breed mix, Tucker has lots of energy and curiosity. He enjoys being active, exploring the yard, and spending time with people. Because of his strength and enthusiasm, he pulls strongly on leash and will benefit from continued training to help him learn polite walking skills. Tucker has shown some stress and anxiety in the shelter environment, which isn’t unusual for a sensitive, intelligent dog in a busy setting. He may bark, whine, or become restless when he’s feeling frustrated or overstimulated. With consistent exercise, enrichment, and a predictable routine in a home environment, many dogs like Tucker relax and thrive. When meeting other dogs, Tucker has shown mixed but generally polite interest. He may approach briefly to sniff but can become uncomfortable if another dog is too forward or energetic. Because of this, a dog-to-dog meet is recommended for any resident dogs.Tucker will do best in an experienced and active home that understands the needs of working breeds. Tucker could be an incredibly rewarding companion. With patience and the right guidance, this smart young dog has the potential to grow into a loyal and devoted partner.
