To learn more about Ralphie, please get in touch with dogs@lostdogrescue.org If you are looking for a dog who will truly, deeply love you, Ralphie is your guy. A classic "Velcro dog," Ralphie believes that life is a team sport. Whether you are working from a home office, cooking in the kitchen (sous chef is his favorite role), or relaxing on the couch, Ralphie wants to be right there with you. Ralphie can be a little skittish in new environments and may feel some anxiety during his first few days in a new home. He is looking for a patient adopter who understands that the best things in life are worth the wait. Once he realizes he is safe, his anxiety melts away, and he transforms into the most energetic, super affectionate, and devoted dog. But don't let his sensitive side fool you—this boy is an athlete! Being a Feist mix, Ralphie has a high-octane engine and is the perfect match for a hiker, runner, or anyone who loves the outdoors. Also true to his Feist breed, he is happiest on squirrel patrol. For this reason, a fenced yard may be preferable. Snacks are also a key to Ralphie's heart. He will do almost anything for a treat, making him a dream to train and a fun partner for anyone who loves teaching new tricks. Second to treats, he loves belly rubs - but be warned, once you start, don't plan on stopping! Ralphie is a unique guy who will reward your love and patience many fold as a fun and devoted companion!

Story
8 years old, 20 pounds Personality: energetic, snuggler, independent, loyal, smart, mischievous, outgoing, affectionate, and goofy/funny. Gimlet is a truly special terrier — bright, funny, and deeply connected to his people. He loves meeting new humans and warms up quickly, often leaning in for snuggles and happily bringing over toys to invite play. At home, he’s content and easy to live with: He’s house trained and trusted uncrated, opting to relax on his dog bed when left alone. He also enjoys listening to music, playing fetch, and looking out the window, and he especially enjoys walks in wooded areas. When he’s feeling a bit mischievous, he has the adorable habit of stealing a shoe to snuggle with like it’s a teddy bear. While Gimlet will always take you up on a game of fetch and is great on the leash, he doesn’t need a ton of physical exercise. At night, Gimlet loves burrowing under the blankets with you! What really sets Gimlet apart is his intelligence. He’s highly food motivated and knows a long and growing list of words, including sit, stay, down, wait, touch, paw, go to your mat, and lie down. He thrives on enrichment like treat puzzles and interactive games, and he even served as a game tester for CleverPet — he’s that quick to learn. He had a blast in agility class, but he’s not a dog-park guy and prefers quieter outings. Gimlet needs a calm home with a consistent routine where he is the star of the show, so he's looking for an adults-only home, where he can be the only pet. Gimlet will be an incredibly loyal, affectionate, and entertaining best friend. Does smart Gimlet sound like the right fit for your home? Apply today to meet Gimlet! ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ City Dogs & City Kitties Rescue is a foster-based rescue in Washington, DC. Story
Hi! My name is Crawdad. I am a teeny weeny fire ball. I love to explore my surroundings and "taste" just about EVERYTHING! I have an appetite as if i'm fully grown so I will need you to portion my meals (water especially). I get along with dogs and absolutely love my humans (can you say velcro pup)! I'm not very fond of being in the crate but I am slowly getting used to it. Potty training is as expected for me being just 6 weeks old. I will definitely need a patient family while I learn where to go and LOTS of puppy pads to get my tinkles a place to land. If you think i'll make a good match for you and your family let's set up a Meet & Greet!   Adoption Day: March 7th at PetSmart Tysons Corner from 10:00–11:00 AM, an approved adopter must be present to adopt. Some pups may stick around until 11:00 AM for the public event—check our Facebook page closer to the date to see if this pup will be attending the extra fun! ##2661445##

Story
Calypso is a teeny tiny Feist/Jack Russell Terrier mix with a huge heart and an even bigger personality. At just six weeks old, he’s already proving to be a smart, snuggly little star. This sweet boy is a total cuddle bug who loves being close to his people. He’s gentle and playful with young kids, so we believe he will make a wonderful little companion for a family. When he’s not soaking up affection, he’s happily napping (he’s a champion daytime sleeper!) or enjoying his favorite thing—food. Calypso is showing impressive intelligence for his age. He’s doing great on a potty training schedule, getting comfortable with his crate, and has already slept in it successfully at his foster home. He’s curious, observant, and walks with the cutest sense of purpose—like he’s always on an important mission. He’s ready to explore the world and grow alongside a loving forever family. If you’re looking for a loyal snuggle buddy with brains, charm, and endless adorableness, Calypso is your boy. Later edit: After a few more days with his foster family, he is proving to be a great work companion, a gentle playbuddy and definitely not a big fan of the rain   Adoption Day: March 7th at PetSmart Tysons Corner from 10:00–11:00 AM, an approved adopter must be present to adopt. Some pups may stick around until 11:00 AM for the public event—check our Facebook page closer to the date to see if this pup will be attending the extra fun! ##2661440##

Story
Meet Paco, our charming senior Chihuahua with a heart as big as his adorable little ears! At just 8 pounds, Paco is the perfect pint-sized companion. Paco loves to follow you around the house like your tiny, loyal shadow. Whether you’re making coffee in the morning or relaxing in the evening, he’ll be right there, keeping you company. And when he’s had a full day of supervising and snuggling? Paco adorably tucks himself into bed when he’s tired — no fuss, just a polite little gentleman who knows when it’s time to rest. Paco is estimated to be around 10-12 years old and does well with other dogs. I would not recommend a home with small children just due to his age and small size. Paco does have some special medical needs. He came to us with horrible nasty teeth that all had to be pulled. His diet consists of small bite kibble soaked in water to make it soft for him to eat. He also enjoys wet foods of any kind. He also has a grade 4 out of 6 heart murmur and is on a regular heart medication for life. With this medication he still has a lot of life left to live! He is showing no outward symptoms of having a heart condition. Paco is located in Texas. His adoption fee is $195 local or $395 out of state with transport and includes current shots, microchip, neuter and negative heart worm test. If you are interested in adopting Paco please complete the adoption application at the link below. Story
Rosie is the definition of a chill companion, a 7 yr old chihuahua daschound mix. This laid-back little lady has truly mastered the art of relaxation. her happy place is curled up in her bed, watching the world go by and keeping a calm, quiet eye on her people. She's not asking for much, just to be near you. Move to another room? She'll follow, find a cozy spot, and settle right back in. Low-key and loving, Rosie is wonderfully easy to live with. She's house trained, pad trained, and walks nicely on a leash. She doesn't demand a lot of attention or activity, but she genuinely enjoys being in your company and will happily engage in some gentle play when the mood strikes. For the most part though, she's perfectly content to simply exist alongside you in peaceful, quiet comfort. When it comes to new dogs or people, Rosie takes a sensible approach. She may offer a quick bark while she sizes things up, then she settles right down like "Ok, I'm good" and goes about her business. No drama, no fuss. She's been pretty indifferent to other dogs overall, and while her experience with children is limited, she's shown no aggression and quickly relaxed when she's encountered them. Rosie has no history of separation anxiety, no aggression, and no bite history. She is, by all accounts, simply a very easy, very sweet girl. One thing to note is that Rosie is currently working on getting back to her ideal weight, so a home that can support some mindful feeding habits would be wonderful for her. Rosie would thrive in a calm, quieter home where someone appreciates a low-energy, undemanding companion who just wants to be in the same room as you. No chaos required, just a comfy bed, a kind person, and maybe a sunny spot to watch the world from.
