Story
Meet Forever Love aka Lovie, a happy-go-lucky 6-month-old puppy who's embracing everything puppyhood has to offer! She's full of enthusiasm, curiosity, and joy, always ready for her next adventure. One of her favorite things in the world is being outdoors. Whether it's a long walk or a trip to the park for a game of fetch,  she's happiest when she's exploring and playing. She's become quite the fetch enthusiast and loves chasing after a ball. She's still working on bringing it back every time, but she's making great progress and learns quickly with encouragement and consistency. After a day of fun, she's all about cuddles and relaxation. She loves being close to her people and has a talent for falling asleep in the funniest, most adorable positions once she's comfortable. Like any young puppy, she's still learning the ropes. She's currently working on her potty training and basic manners and will thrive with a family committed to continuing her training and helping her grow into the amazing dog she's destined to be. She absolutely loves people and gets along well with other dogs, though she prefers to take a moment to assess new canine friends before jumping into play. Because she's still young and excited about life, she can be a little exuberant when meeting people. Her ideal home would be with an active family or individual who enjoys spending time outdoors and can provide plenty of exercise, playtime, and enrichment. A fenced backyard would be a dream for endless games of fetch, but she'd also make an excellent walking, running, or hiking companion for those on the go.  With patience, consistency, and lots of love, this sweet girl will blossom into an incredible lifelong companion. If you're looking for a happy, affectionate, adventure-loving puppy to grow with your family, she may be the perfect match. Adoption Day: June 13th at PetSmart Tysons Corner from 10:00–11:00 AM, an approved adopter must be present to adopt. Some pups may be part of the public event—check our Facebook page closer to the date to see if this pup will be attending the extra fun! ##2639047##

Story
Meet Shaggy...One of the Scooby Doo puppies! Shaggy's story began on Kelly Mountain in Logan County, West Virginia, where he, his mom, and two brothers were found abandoned by a group of hunters far from any nearby homes. When the hunters stopped, the little family immediately approached them, friendly and social, leading us to believe they once belonged to someone and were intentionally left behind. Thankfully, a Good Samaritan stepped in and took the family into her home until rescue help could be secured. Because of her compassion, Shaggy got the second chance he deserved. His mom and brothers have all been adopted, so now it’s Shaggy’s turn. For the past few months, Shaggy has been in his local foster home, living as part of a busy family. He's being fostered with a mom and dad, two children, two adult dogs, and has frequent toddler visitors from the 3-year-old grandson. He loves kids and is very gentle and affectionate with them. He would happily spend his day being held or included in whatever his people are doing. Shaggy has great house manners - he is crate trained, potty trained, sleeps through the night, and is not destructive. He has moved beyond the baby puppy stage now. He's a naturally happy boy who enjoys the company of other dogs and loves spending time with his family. Like many young dogs, Shaggy is still working on his leash manners and social skills. He can be barky when meeting some new people or dogs while on leash, though it's intermittent and situation-dependent. We had a trainer evaluate him, and he feels Shaggy simply needs more exposure to new environments outside the home to continue building his confidence. His foster family has been working with him consistently, and he's already making progress.  We believe Shaggy's ideal home would include another confident, social dog to be both a playmate and a role model. He would likely do best in a suburban setting rather than a busy urban environment. This sweet boy is ready for a forever family that will continue helping him grow while giving him all the love of family. ❤️ Apply today ! BREED ESTIMATE: Feist or Terrier Mix (his brothers were part Beagle) GENDER: Male APPROXIMATE WEIGHT: ~ 29 lbs  APPROXIMATE AGE: ~  6 months old COAT TYPE:  short ADOPTION FEE: $425 OTHER INFO: utd on shots/neutered/microchipped LOCATION: Vienna, VA   FOR MORE INFO OR TO ADOPT: Please go to https://adopt.worthydog.org and complete the application. You can also help save dogs like this one by becoming a foster, providing a rescue dog with a temporary home and giving them the love and care they need until they are permanently adopted. Every person who fosters is directly responsible for saving the life of a dog, because we can only save as many dogs as we have foster families available to welcome them into their homes. If you think you might be interested in becoming a foster and want to learn more, please go to https://foster.worthydog.org and fill out an application. Worthy Dog Rescue is an all-volunteer, foster-based rescue that primarily adopts to families in the DC Metro area. June 1, 2026, 5:58 pm

He’s friendly with people, dogs, AND cats, making him the ultimate social butterfly (minus the wings… although, with his charm, he might as well fly).     Looking for a buddy who’s sweet as can be, adores life, and is ready to love you unconditionally? Then Merle is your guy. Don’t wait — apply today and scoop up this cutie before someone else does. Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family.    Adoption fees cover basic vetting, rabies (if puppy is old enough), distemper/parvo vaccinations, deworming, monthly heartworm prevention while in our care (if old enough), monthly flea/tick prevention while in our care, and transport costs. K-9 Lifesavers will also cover the cost of spay/neuter at our partner vet at 6 months of age or reimburse adopter for up to the amount of our partner vet cost should you choose to spay/neuter at your own vet.Foster Program:    Foster homes provide for the temporary care of a rescue until the dog is placed into a loving, forever home.  For more information on becoming a foster parent, and our Foster Program, visit http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/foster/ or email our Foster Coordinator at foster@k-9lifesavers.orgSPONSOR ME! Help Save Lives!    Make a tax-deductible donation today and help save a life. Please contact Kady Hammer (KadyH@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.Pint-Sized Cutie ISO Forever Home! SENOR VADER NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!   Name: Senor Vader       Best Guess for Breed:  Chi mix     Best Guess for Age: 5 months as of May 2026          SEX:   Male   Estimated Weight (puppies' weights change quickly!):   16.7 lbs as of 5/10/26   Gets Along With:        Most puppies are in the prime of their socialization window and will do well with other dogs, cats and kids so long as they receive patience and proper training.   Currently Living at:   DC area foster home   Watch this video of Senor Vader as he enjoys some playtime!   Special Adoption Considerations:       Puppies under 6 months of age need to have multiple potty breaks/exercise throughout the day. Potential adopters with a standard 8-hour workday must be willing to make arrangements to meet the needs of their puppy.  Senor Vader is Looking For:   Hi! I'm Senor Vader! My littermates Senorita Ali, Senorita Cindy, Senorita Kiera, Senorita Minny, & Senor Ozzie, and I have loved our time in the puppy pile, but we are each ready to pack our bags and find our very own forever home! I'm looking for a home that will let me play with toys and get my puppy zoomies out and give me snuggles in between playtimes. When I'm a little older, I can't wait to explore my new neighborhood on lots of walks, and I'd really like to make a bunch of doggie friends along the way. Oh, and I should probably take a puppy obedience class or two so I can show you how smart I am. What do you say? Do you have room in your heart for me? What My Foster Says About Me: The big brother of the litter. He was a little nervous at first but quickly adjusted with the help of his siblings and the older dogs in the house. He wants to be with the group and if someone else is being held, he also wants to join in the cuddles! Puppy Vetting Requirements:        Lucky Puppies have had their age appropriate vaccines, but may not yet be “fully” vaccinated. It is the adopter’s responsibility to ensure that the remaining puppy vaccines are given at the appropriate time. Please also keep in mind that, until your puppy is fully vaccinated, they are at greater risk for illness than an adult dog.          Your new puppy will need to work on their house training and will also need to go to obedience school so they can grow into a well-socialized dog!  TO ADOPT:       The adoption fee for this puppy is $485, which includes the cost of routine vetting and transport from the shelter.    If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online bit.ly/adoptaluckydog   Lucky Dog Animal Rescue does our best to provide accurate information about the dogs we have for adoption. Story
Please contact Paul Slebzak (pauls@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.sweet girl looking for her forever home! ECLIPSE NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!   Come meet Eclipse and other great adoptable dogs this Sunday (5/31) from 12-3 pm at the Petco in Rockville, MD (1507 Rockville Pike, Rockville, MD 20852)!   Name:   Eclipse        Best Guess for Breed:   Chi and Terrier mix   Best Guess for Age:   5 years as of February 2026       SEX:    Female   Approximate Weight:   29 lbs as of February 2026 - needs to lose some.   Gets Along With:  Other dogs! Eclipse lives with cats in her foster home and pretty much leaves them be. We would caution Eclipse going to a home with young kids because she can be overwhelmed by lots of noise and activity.    Currently Living at:  DC area foster home   Eclipse is Looking For:    This beautiful black-and-white chi/terrier mix is as striking as her name suggests. Eclipse is a petite little lady with an expressive face and a look that will absolutely steal your heart. Her bright eyes make her stand out in any crowd — but it’s her gentle presence that really makes her special. Eclipse is at that wonderful age where she’s eager to settle into a home of her own and share life’s everyday moments with her people. Whether it’s relaxing nearby, joining you for daily routines, or simply being your steady little shadow, she’s happiest being part of the action.  What My Foster Says About Me:    Eclipse is the sweetest girl—full of love, energy, and gives lots of kisses. She may be a little shy at first, but she warms up quickly (it took her less than 12 hours with us) and becomes a total cuddle bug. She loves napping on the couch (and the bed if you let her!) and doesn’t need to be picked up—she’s strong and can easily hop onto couch, into the car, or even the bathtub on her own. She’s very food motivated and comes running the moment she smells a treat or sees you in the kitchen, but seems to understand commands like no, stay, stop, etc.  Eclipse sleeps through the night in her crate and does great when left alone. She gets along well with our senior dog and is pretty neutral around other dogs—she’s much more interested in her humans.  Overall, Eclipse would make a wonderful companion in just about any home. She’s incredibly sweet and loves nothing more than cuddling and being close to her people! Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this dog is $460, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter.
