Story
Meet Forever Love aka Lovie, a happy-go-lucky 6-month-old puppy who's embracing everything puppyhood has to offer! She's full of enthusiasm, curiosity, and joy, always ready for her next adventure. One of her favorite things in the world is being outdoors. Whether it's a long walk or a trip to the park for a game of fetch,  she's happiest when she's exploring and playing. She's become quite the fetch enthusiast and loves chasing after a ball. She's still working on bringing it back every time, but she's making great progress and learns quickly with encouragement and consistency. After a day of fun, she's all about cuddles and relaxation. She loves being close to her people and has a talent for falling asleep in the funniest, most adorable positions once she's comfortable. Like any young puppy, she's still learning the ropes. She's currently working on her potty training and basic manners and will thrive with a family committed to continuing her training and helping her grow into the amazing dog she's destined to be. She absolutely loves people and gets along well with other dogs, though she prefers to take a moment to assess new canine friends before jumping into play. Because she's still young and excited about life, she can be a little exuberant when meeting people. Her ideal home would be with an active family or individual who enjoys spending time outdoors and can provide plenty of exercise, playtime, and enrichment. A fenced backyard would be a dream for endless games of fetch, but she'd also make an excellent walking, running, or hiking companion for those on the go.  With patience, consistency, and lots of love, this sweet girl will blossom into an incredible lifelong companion. If you're looking for a happy, affectionate, adventure-loving puppy to grow with your family, she may be the perfect match. Adoption Day: June 20th at PetSmart Tysons Corner from 10:00–11:00 AM, an approved adopter must be present to adopt. Some pups may be part of the public event—check our Facebook page closer to the date to see if this pup will be attending the extra fun! ##2639047##

Story
Meet Shaggy...One of the Scooby Doo puppies! Shaggy's story began on Kelly Mountain in Logan County, West Virginia, where he, his mom, and two brothers were found abandoned by a group of hunters far from any nearby homes. When the hunters stopped, the little family immediately approached them, friendly and social, leading us to believe they once belonged to someone and were intentionally left behind. Thankfully, a Good Samaritan stepped in and took the family into her home until rescue help could be secured. Because of her compassion, Shaggy got the second chance he deserved. His mom and brothers have all been adopted, so now it’s Shaggy’s turn. For the past few months, Shaggy has been in his local foster home, living as part of a busy family. He's being fostered with a mom and dad, two children, two adult dogs, and has frequent toddler visitors from the 3-year-old grandson. He loves kids and is very gentle and affectionate with them. He would happily spend his day being held or included in whatever his people are doing. Shaggy has great house manners - he is crate trained, potty trained, sleeps through the night, and is not destructive. He has moved beyond the baby puppy stage now. He's a naturally happy boy who enjoys the company of other dogs and loves spending time with his family. Like many young dogs, Shaggy is still working on his leash manners and social skills. He can be barky when meeting some new people or dogs while on leash, though it's intermittent and situation-dependent. We had a trainer evaluate him, and he feels Shaggy simply needs more exposure to new environments outside the home to continue building his confidence. His foster family has been working with him consistently, and he's already making progress.  We believe Shaggy's ideal home would include another confident, social dog to be both a playmate and a role model. He would likely do best in a suburban setting rather than a busy urban environment. This sweet boy is ready for a forever family that will continue helping him grow while giving him all the love of family. ❤️ Apply today ! BREED ESTIMATE: Feist or Terrier Mix (his brothers were part Beagle) GENDER: Male APPROXIMATE WEIGHT: ~ 29 lbs  APPROXIMATE AGE: ~  6 months old COAT TYPE:  short ADOPTION FEE: $425 OTHER INFO: utd on shots/neutered/microchipped LOCATION: Vienna, VA   FOR MORE INFO OR TO ADOPT: Please go to https://adopt.worthydog.org and complete the application. You can also help save dogs like this one by becoming a foster, providing a rescue dog with a temporary home and giving them the love and care they need until they are permanently adopted. Every person who fosters is directly responsible for saving the life of a dog, because we can only save as many dogs as we have foster families available to welcome them into their homes. If you think you might be interested in becoming a foster and want to learn more, please go to https://foster.worthydog.org and fill out an application. Worthy Dog Rescue is an all-volunteer, foster-based rescue that primarily adopts to families in the DC Metro area. June 14, 2026, 10:52 am

He’s friendly with people, dogs, AND cats, making him the ultimate social butterfly (minus the wings… although, with his charm, he might as well fly).     Looking for a buddy who’s sweet as can be, adores life, and is ready to love you unconditionally? Then Merle is your guy. Don’t wait — apply today and scoop up this cutie before someone else does. Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family.    Adoption fees cover basic vetting, rabies (if puppy is old enough), distemper/parvo vaccinations, deworming, monthly heartworm prevention while in our care (if old enough), monthly flea/tick prevention while in our care, and transport costs. K-9 Lifesavers will also cover the cost of spay/neuter at our partner vet at 6 months of age or reimburse adopter for up to the amount of our partner vet cost should you choose to spay/neuter at your own vet.Foster Program:    Foster homes provide for the temporary care of a rescue until the dog is placed into a loving, forever home.  For more information on becoming a foster parent, and our Foster Program, visit http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/foster/ or email our Foster Coordinator at foster@k-9lifesavers.orgSPONSOR ME! Help Save Lives!    Make a tax-deductible donation today and help save a life. Story
Please contact Paul Slebzak (pauls@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.sweet girl looking for her forever home! ECLIPSE NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!     Come meet Eclipse and other great adoptable dogs this Sunday (6/14) from 12-3 pm at the PetSmart in Rockville, MD (5154 Nicholson Ln, Kensington, MD 20895)!   Name:   Eclipse        Best Guess for Breed:   Chi and Terrier mix   Best Guess for Age:   5 years as of February 2026       SEX:    Female   Approximate Weight:   29 lbs as of February 2026 - needs to lose some.   Gets Along With:  Other dogs! Eclipse lives with cats in her foster home and pretty much leaves them be. We would caution Eclipse going to a home with young kids because she can be overwhelmed by lots of noise and activity.    Currently Living at:  DC area foster home   Eclipse is Looking For:    This beautiful black-and-white chi/terrier mix is as striking as her name suggests. Eclipse is a petite little lady with an expressive face and a look that will absolutely steal your heart. Her bright eyes make her stand out in any crowd — but it’s her gentle presence that really makes her special. Eclipse is at that wonderful age where she’s eager to settle into a home of her own and share life’s everyday moments with her people. Whether it’s relaxing nearby, joining you for daily routines, or simply being your steady little shadow, she’s happiest being part of the action.  What My Foster Says About Me:    Eclipse is the sweetest girl—full of love, energy, and gives lots of kisses. She may be a little shy at first, but she warms up quickly (it took her less than 12 hours with us) and becomes a total cuddle bug. She loves napping on the couch (and the bed if you let her!) and doesn’t need to be picked up—she’s strong and can easily hop onto couch, into the car, or even the bathtub on her own. She’s very food motivated and comes running the moment she smells a treat or sees you in the kitchen, but seems to understand commands like no, stay, stop, etc.  Eclipse sleeps through the night in her crate and does great when left alone. She gets along well with our senior dog and is pretty neutral around other dogs—she’s much more interested in her humans.  Overall, Eclipse would make a wonderful companion in just about any home. She’s incredibly sweet and loves nothing more than cuddling and being close to her people! Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this dog is $460, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter. Please contact Robert Badura (robert.badura@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.sweet boy ISO fresh start and love! TOBBY NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!! Name:  Tobby         Best Guess for Breed:  Chihuahua and terrier mix   Best Guess for Age:  3.5 years as of May 2026          SEX:  Male   Approximate Weight:  24 lbs   Gets Along With: Other dogs! We haven't seen him with cats but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters!   Currently Living at: DC area foster home   Special adoption considerations:   Dogs from Puerto Rico have a major transition to go through when they arrive and will need humans who are very committed to socialization. We think this pup would do best with either a resident dog or a family who can make sure they can go on walks regularly with other dogs, visit the dog park, or go to doggie daycare to learn the ropes. Tobby would do best in a home without children.    See more pictures and videos of him on his foster's instagram account! https://www.instagram.com/helping_ryes_cousins   Tobby is Looking For:  Tobby is a sato - a dog from Puerto Rico. He's eager to get his own forever family in the DC area and explore his new surroundings. Long sniffy walks, romps in parks, all the adventures his new humans can dream up - yes, please! Making pup pals along the way is high on his wish list, as are quality kibble and a cushy dog bed. But you know what he wants most of all? To be safe and loved, to know where he belongs. In exchange he promises all the adoring gazes he is storing up and loyal companionship for all his days.    What do you say? Is Tobby the one you see by your side? What My Foster Says About Me:  Tobby is a sweet guy with the shortest legs and the biggest heart. He was found wandering along a busy highway in Puerto Rico. He immediately allowed his rescuer to pick him up and bring him to safety. He lived in her home for a month where she had really wonderful things to say about what a good dog he is. After his long trip from Puerto Rico to the DMV he is ready to find his forever home! He loves affection, cuddles, belly rubs, and lots of love. He wants to be close to his people and has been a calm, sweet presence. He has gotten along great with the small senior dogs in his foster home and hasn’t had any accidents in the house. He likes going for walks and does well on his leash.  Tobby may need a little time to adjust to new people and strange environments. But after only one day in his foster parent’s home, he was snuggling up to everyone, asking for more pets, and sleeping happily with his stubby legs in the air. Toby is looking for a forever family with patience, gentleness, and lots of love. Give him that, and he’ll reward you ten fold with gratitude and love! Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this dog is $460, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter. Also on his wish list: plenty of ear scritches, quality kibble, a cushy dog bed, and some new pup pals to play with! But above all, he wants to know where he belongs, to be under his own roof, safe and loved. In exchange, he promises adoring gazes and loyal companionship for all his days.
