Story
Heather was surrendered by her owner to the Corona Animal Shelter in October 2024. During this time, the shelter was receiving several German Shepherds, Shepherd mixes, and Belgian Malinois breeds, so she was one of many at the shelter. During her stay, Heather was a good dog to get out and socialize. The only noted issue was she was hesitant walking around and wanted to go right back to her kennel. Otherwise, Heather was happy, playful and no bad behaviors were seen. In May 2025, Heather was rescued by PAWS and lived with a foster. It was noted then that Heather was fearful when it came to changing environments and meeting new people. After some time, Heather started bonding with her foster Mom but was still hesitant around other family members. Heather was also fearful of the leash. However, she got along great with the other family dogs and would take walks. In July 2025, Heather came to live with another PAWS foster who has several dogs and cats. Heather was very fearful of the change. It took a few days for her to get used to the new home. She was timid and scared initially but eventually started warming up to foster Dad. Heather is now very close to her foster Dad and is slowly warming up to other family members. Heather would be best in a home with other animals, but she is very selective about which humans she will trust. But once she develops some trust, she can be playful and has a fun personality. She is an easy dog to have around the house, although she does go through significant shedding for a few weeks. Personality: Sweet girl, but very cautious and scared when it comes to new environments and people. Loves treats, can be excitable and jumpy once she is comfortable with a person. Good around other pets. She tends to bond closely with one person. She’s pretty chill and content just hanging out in the backyard or her

Story
Sully was brought to the Corona Animal Shelter as a stray in November 2024. He was limping and seen by a vet. It was determined that he had a injured front left leg, specifically the elbow, that wasn’t healing properly. Sully was very active and did not seem to be in extreme pain. It ws determined his options were either going to an orthopedic surgeon to fix the elbow, or to have the leg amputated. Dues to budgetary constraints, ampuation was chosen and performed in December 2024. A medical foster who is a PAWS member took care of Sully during his post op recovery and is his current foster under PAWS. Sully is considered a “tripod dog” because he only has three legs. However, that does not stop him from walking, running or playing with other dogs. He gets around surprisingly well on 3 legs. Sully was introduced to his foster’s 5 other dogs. He reacted initally to the males, but got along immediately with the females. It took a few weeks of separating the males before they became acclimated. He lives in a house with 5 dogs and 4 cats. He can be inside with cats, but requires some supervision. Because Sully is a German Shepherd/Pit Bull mix, supervion when around other pets, small children is suggested intially. Sully has lots of energy and wants to play hard with the other dogs. As a result, he sometimes doesn’t know his limitations and sprains his front leg. So it is strongly suggested his activity with other dogs be monitored/restricted so he doesn’t injure himself. He is currently on a vet prescribed joint medication. Sully is also a bit “mouthy,” meaning he likes to lick and softly gnaw on you. That can be controlled through verbal comands and providing periodic chew treats, toys. Sully has a cool expression with his almond eyes and pointy ears. He is really a special dog despite his handicap. He’s an excellent watchdog and companion. You’ll know when the mail person or trash trucks come by because he barks at them. My Details · Happy, playful, three-legged boy · Great with most dogs · Lives with cats · Shots current · Nuetered · Housetrained My Personality Affectionate, active, energetic, loves attention and treats, can be excitable, a little mouthy and jumpy, but settles down, very sweet boy with an expressive face. Missing hi front leg does not impair his ability to walk, run and play.

Story
Bronco is a sweet boy that loves the dog park and playing with other dogs. Bronco has an amazing puppy personality. Very playful with humans and other dogs. His favorite toy to play fetch with would be frisbees. Bronco loves the water. He has been to the ocean many times and also a couple lakes. And he already taught himself how to swim! Bronco would thrive with a family. Preferrably a home with a big backyard for him to play in. Or a household with another dog to keep him entertained. Bronco has been trained to sit, stay, patiently wait until he hears "break" before eating his food. He prefers to sleep at the foot of your bed on the floor. He has not been crate trained.
