Story
German Shepherds are renowned for their remarkable qualities. They are known for their intelligence, loyalty, and versatility. Whether you're looking for a hiking partner, a devoted protector, or a cuddle buddy, German Shepherds can excel in various roles. These dogs are also incredibly trainable, making them a perfect fit for families, singles, and experienced dog owners alike. Sunday is a 5 months girl with a heart full of love. She adores fetch and long walks and is looking for an active family to join. We prefer a family who are willing to send Sunday to doggy training classes.

Story
CONNECTICUT: Her name is Girl, but this lovely lady is more like a queen, looking for a loving forever home to spread her majesty and spend her golden years. Poor sweet Girl must have been heart broken when her owner left for Honduras and never returned, leaving her to be surrendered to an overcrowded shelter. At 10+ years old, it was not long before Girl found herself on the emergency placement list, despite her timid nature. Easy-going Girl loves car rides though, and happily made her way to a great foster home in Connecticut. Girl has a beautiful toasted coat of buttery-cream ombre and is described as a very calm and quiet dog, who loves snuggling up into cozy blankets. She is gentle with people, quickly showing affection with tender little licks. Her foster says, “she gives the most dainty kisses.” Girl has a lower energy level but is still very much full of life! She can get over stimulated on walks so playing in her own yard might be a better way for her to exercise. She has been through a lot and would love to see her in a solo-pet home where she can soak up all the love she deserves. In the house, Girl likes to hang out where the people are, peacefully curled up on something soft nearby. Psst - her favorite scratch spot is behind her ears and she will politely ask you for said scritches in her adorable and gentle way! All lovable Girl wants is to live a simple life and in return, she will be the most loyal, loving companion you could imagine. Would you like to make this deal with Girl? If you can open your heart and home to dear Girl, please contact AmsterDog at 917-689-8414 or by e-mail at info@amsterdog. You can apply to foster or adopt Girl at AmsterDog.org. Thanks for caring about a pet in need!

Story
If you like potato chips, you’re gonna lovvvve Pretzel! ;-) This 2-year old, 52-pound German Shepherd/Collie mix is a sweet, delicious, affectionate guy who likes to be pet, cuddled with, and have his people close by. A lover boy through-and-through, Pretzel is playful and has good energy, but his preference is to usually just chill out, sit by your side, and if he’s lucky, get a full body massage. Pretzel likes car rides and would be thrilled to run errands with you, even the mundane ones. He loves the usual things: Treats, toys, playing fetch, and being pet all over. Pretzel is fully housebroken and crate trained. He is working on his leash-walking skills and making daily progress. He tends to become a bit nervous around unfamiliar folks and dog he’s never met, but with increased exposure, he is becoming much more relaxed and wayyy more confident. Pretzel is an easy-going fella who doesn’t have a mean bone in his plush furry body. He’s just a big mush who wants to love and be loved in return. And if you put on the TV for him and tune in to the Animal Planet channel, he will actually sit there and watch the show! Yep, Pretzel is a big TV fan! :-) If you would like to adopt this wonderland dog, please email rescue@pupstarzrescue.org or visit www.pupstarzrescue.org for an application! www.pupstarzrescue.org Please Follow us on Instagram: @pupstarzrescue Like us on FaceBook! www.facebook.com/PupStarzRescue PupStarz rescue cannot guarantee the breed, size, temperament or age of any dog.

Story
Fun loving, cuddle monster Bosun is a 60lb, 7 years old, neutered male looking for a peaceful, loving home with no small children. Originally from Nevis, Bosun first came to Shelter Chic at 4 months old with his sisters back in 2016. After finding a wonderful adoptive family and being a perfect boy for the last 7 years, Bosun has been becoming increasingly unhappy since the arrival of a new baby. Bosun has become anxious causing him to lick his belly and paws. However, Bosun would be able to revert back to his playful self in a new environment. He would make a wonderful companion for a single person or a great fur baby for anyone who doesn’t plan to have children.  He is happy to nap on the couch all day, take short walks, or even keep up on a 6 mile strenuous hike as long as he’s spending time with someone.  He’s great at the dog park, loves to play fetch, is crate and house trained and knows all kinds of commands including sitting to wait for permission to eat or walk out the door.  Bosun gets on well with other dogs, but prefers the company of humans. He does not do well with cats or small animals.  Although Bosun was adopted in NYC, we are looking for an adopter based in Nashville, where he currently lives. If you think you can give Bosun all the love he deserves and would like to meet him, please go to Petstablished.com or follow the link below to complete an application to adopt. All of our animals are in foster homes. For the sake of our animals and foster families, you must have an approved application with references before you can meet them.  http://shelterchic.org/adopt/ In order to receive a speedy response to any inquiry, please email us directly at Info@ShelterChic.org or check out our website ShelterChic.org where you will find the answer to most questions about our adoption process and fees. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Mollie (AL) is a female possibly German Shepherd Dog/Pit Bull Terrier mix rescued in Alabama, and estimated to be 18 months old at intake in February 2021. Mollie is good with people.  It took some time for Mollie's owner to surrender her after we rescued her puppies and her condition told a story of the horrific abuse she has suffered.  Underweight, Mollie spent her life in a crate in her own waste to the extent that the pads of her feet were burnt and infected. Now healed, Mollie is sweeter than all the sugar in the world. She is a pure bundle of love and just wants to be loved in return. Mollie is a dream on a leash, does well in the car and is housetrained; she would LOVE a yard where she can lay in the sun in her forever home.  Despite her past, Mollie's crate is her safe space and she goes in on her own whenever she’s feeling overwhelmed. She knows to go right in when it’s dinner or treat time and it’s become a positive space for her. Mollie does best with confident dogs who will keep her in check. Mollie has waited all her young life to experience love, kind words, soft touches and a happy home, and she is now ready to live that dream.  If you can give Mollie the life she deserves, please apply online to adopt Mollie (AL) at www.rescuedogsrocknyc.org.  RDR's adoption fees include the cost of spay/neuter/microchip at an RDR-approved facility, whether completed before adoption or if deferred because the pet is too young or has a medical issue.  All pets are also current on age-appropriate vaccines at the time of adoption.   Given technical constraints on this database, this pet's location may not be as listed here. We can, however, provide transport support for pets in foster at a considerable distance from the adopter.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 8, 2024, 9:12 pm

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. PHOENIX was saved from being shot on the streets of Oman by an amazing organization Muscat Dog Adoption. He along with his 7 friends were flown into JFK where they were cleared the CDC and then picked up and transported back to Give a Dog a Home Rescue, in Sebec, Maine on 5 April 2024 Phoenix is neutered, rabies, core vaccines, monthly preventatives, heartworm and tick disease tested negative and is microchipped. He has an estimated date of birth of 2 January 2023 and at the time of transport weighed around 42 pounds. Mixed breed dogs in Oman are referred to as Omani Wadi Dogs, with most of them being Saluki mixes. PHOENIX is the youngest of the dogs that came over from OMAN and he has settled in great. He shares a kennel with his Omani friends, Myrtle (who keeps in him in check) and KATIE (who he has a crush on lol). He is very affectionate, gentle, playful, he found the toy basket almost straight away and enjoys getting them all out and playing or chewing on them. He doesn't like sharing all the time and will let the other dog know with a low growl that it is his food or toy, but has never escalated to anything other than appropriate communicating. He gets super excited when I go over to the kennels, he loves having lots of neck and ear scratches, cuddles and kisses. He will need a family that has an active lifestyle and can give him all that he deserves and needs to thrive. He will in return give you all the love he has, so many giggles with his goofy antics and lots of wonderful memories to be made. We take a lot of pictures and videos and don't always have the time to post them on the dogs individual webpage and adoption site, so we ask that you go to the rescue   YouTube channel   and    photo albums on our Facebook page   to see a LOT of pictures and videos. We are looking for families that have the lifestyle that the dog needs to lead a healthy, both mentally and physically life, who can afford a GOOD quality food, toys and treats and understand the importance of veterinary wellness checks. Phoenix is located at the rescue in Sebec Maine and is available for a reduced adoption fee of $550. Interested families are required to complete our application process and once approved schedule an appointment to come to the rescue to meet and take home their new best friend. Our process takes 1-2 days as long as we are able to talk to references, so be prepared to be approved (hopefully) to adopt within a few days of submitting the adoption application. https://giveadogahome-rescue.rescuegroups.org/forms/form?formid=5838 HOUSE TRAINED - All of our dogs are located in the kennel building so we are not able to say if a dog is house-trained, however, they do have access and use the dog door to access their run, play area 24/7. FOOD - We feed a variety of high quality brands and flavors including, chicken, turkey, beef, lamb and fish generally alternated daily. CATS - As the dogs are in the kennels, we are not able to say how they are with cats. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. KAI was saved from being shot on the streets of Oman by an amazing organization Muscat Dog Adoption. He along with his7 friends were flown into JFK where they were cleared the CDC and then picked up and transported back to Give a Dog a Home Rescue, in Sebec, Maine on 5 April 2024 KAI is neutered, rabies, core vaccines, monthly preventatives, heartworm and tick disease tested negative and is microchipped. He has an estimated date of birth of 30 January 2010 and at the time of transport weighed around 40 pounds. Mixed breed dogs in Oman are referred to as Omani Wadi Dogs, with most of them being Saluki mixes. KAI was one of the favourites of the rescue in Oman, he had been saved and his foot was all mangled and sadly it was deemed it couldn't be fixed and the only option was amputation. He healed and is doing great and having 3 legs doesn't slow him down. He shares a kennel with his Omani friend "Fliss" and they are constantly wrestling and chasing around the kennel run playing - which is beautiful to see them relaxed and having fun after all they have endured. KAI is a very gentle soul who is happy to chill out, but also play and be goofy. He loves having his neck and ears scratched and will make a great snuggle companion, but of course still needs a fair amount of exercise and lots of fun adventures. When Kai was saved his front leg was mangled that the veterinarians were not able to save and so the decision was made to amputate his leg, and as with all amputee's, this doesn't stop him from having fun and living life. He will need joint supplements to help support the extra work and weight his other leg is enduring. We take a lot of pictures and videos and don't always have the time to post them on the dogs individual webpage and adoption site, so we ask that you go to the rescue       YouTube channel       and       photo albums on our Facebook page       to see a LOT of pictures and videos. Story
I rescued him from a high kill shelter in CA. He had less than 10 days to live so I got him transported to me and now I am working to rehome him. He is a neutered GSD mix. He is a beautiful dog with a dark brown coat on his back and lighter brown on his body, with white patches on his chest and paws. He is incredibly sweet, although initially very shy, he quickly warms up. He is calm and doesn't bark much. He is house-trained and responds to commands such as "sit", "down", "play", "leave", "stay" and is good with recall. He is getting better on the leash, although he occasionally pulls. He is the sweetest boy you will ever come across. He will never leave you alone and will shower you with a lot of kisses. He does not counter surf and waits patiently for his food. He loves getting pets and his puppy eyes will make sure you don't stop. I believe he would be a great fit for someone with experience handling dogs.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Autumn (TX) is a female Belgian Malinois mix rescued in Texas. Our veterinary partner estimates that Autumn is 1 year old at the time of intake in Sept 2023.  Autumn is good with people and other dogs.  Autumn is a young mother with 3 puppies, she did not have a good life on a chain and neglected. Autumn is a smart, spunky, happy girl who has shown herself to be incredibly loyal to her people. She still has a lot of puppy energy and will need an owner who understands her need to work and is willing to provide her with the physical and mental exercise she needs. Autumn would love a job! She is highly trainable and would excel at anything from agility to nose work. She would also like a doggie friend that can match her energy and play style. Autumn is potty trained and has never had an accident inside. She is good in her crate provided she is given proper exercise. She is also uncharacteristically sweet and snuggly for her breed. She always wants to be where you are and is always curious about what you are doing. She is such a sweet, social girl. . If you would like to give sweet Autumn a forever home, please apply online to adopt Autumn (TX) at www.rescuedogsrocknyc.org.   RDR's adoption fees include the cost of spay/neuter/microchip at an RDR-approved facility, whether completed before adoption or if deferred because the pet is too young or has a medical issue.  All pets are also current on age-appropriate vaccines at the time of adoption. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Barry (TX) is a male Belgium shepherd Malinois mix rescued in Texas. Our veterinary partner estimates that Barry is 4 months old at the time of intake early May 2023. Barry is a lovely, medium sized 11 month old puppy who loves to be with his people and cuddle. He is an excellent companion to his humans! Barry can and should spend long periods of time napping but will happily engage in fun activities at the right times. Barry loves starting his day with a game of fetch in the morning, go on walks throughout the day, and have playtime with his interactive toys. Barry loves to turn in early in his cozy quiet area to get some solid zzz's.. only to wake up refreshed and ready to start his day again. Barry is a very smart dog who can learn very quickly from a skilled trainer who can help him fit into his forever home. Barry spent time in a shelter, so he does startle easily in some situations without the right attention and training. He is doing great with his learning to socialize with other dogs and is already showing responses to the appropriate training that all young puppies need. Barry would be a great fit for a family with older kids or no children. If you think Barry would be a wonderful addition to your family, p lease apply online to adopt Barry (TX) at www.rescuedogsrocknyc.org RDR's adoption fees include the cost of spay/neuter/microchip at an RDR-approved facility, whether completed before adoption or if deferred because the pet is too young or has a medical issue.  All pets are also current on age-appropriate vaccines at the time of adoption Given technical constraints on this database, this pet's location may not be as listed here.
