Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Mollie (AL) is a female possibly German Shepherd Dog/Pit Bull Terrier mix rescued in Alabama, and estimated to be 18 months old at intake in February 2021. Mollie is good with people.  It took some time for Mollie's owner to surrender her after we rescued her puppies and her condition told a story of the horrific abuse she has suffered.  Underweight, Mollie spent her life in a crate in her own waste to the extent that the pads of her feet were burnt and infected. Now healed, Mollie is sweeter than all the sugar in the world. She is a pure bundle of love and just wants to be loved in return. Mollie is a dream on a leash, does well in the car and is housetrained; she would LOVE a yard where she can lay in the sun in her forever home.  Despite her past, Mollie's crate is her safe space and she goes in on her own whenever she’s feeling overwhelmed. She knows to go right in when it’s dinner or treat time and it’s become a positive space for her. Mollie does best with confident dogs who will keep her in check. Mollie has waited all her young life to experience love, kind words, soft touches and a happy home, and she is now ready to live that dream.  If you can give Mollie the life she deserves, please apply online to adopt Mollie (AL) at www.rescuedogsrocknyc.org. RDR's adoption fees include the cost of spay/neuter/microchip at an RDR-approved facility, whether completed before adoption or if deferred because the pet is too young or has a medical issue.  All pets are also current on age-appropriate vaccines at the time of adoption. Given technical constraints on this database, this pet's location may not be as listed here. We can, however, provide transport support for pets in foster at a considerable distance from the adopter.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 5, 2024, 10:34 am

Hi, I’m Everywhere! I’m a 3 month old, 20-pound (as of 3/28) German Shepherd/Lab mix from Tennessee, and I’m as sweet as can be. I absolutely love giving kisses and being around people, but this big city is still a little scary for me. I can be shy at first, but once I warm up—especially at home—I’m all cuddles and tail wags! One of my favorite things in the world is other dogs. Having a furry friend around makes me feel extra confident, and I love playing and following their lead. I’m also a really good girl—I love my crate and sleep soundly through the night. With a little patience and lots of love, I know I’ll grow into the brave, happy pup I’m meant to be. Could you be my perfect forever home? Meet Peanut – Your Energetic Adventure Buddy! Peanut is a 1 year old, 77- pound vibrant and playful young German Shepherd who’s ready to bring joy and energy to his new home. He’s an adventurous spirit who loves long off-leash hikes where he can explore and sniff to his heart’s content. With excellent leash manners and a love for being outdoors, Peanut is the perfect companion for someone who enjoys an active lifestyle. He’s also a social butterfly, getting along well with other dogs and enjoying time with people of all ages. While he loves to play fetch, don’t be surprised if he doesn’t always drop the ball—he loves keeping the game interesting! This smart boy knows a variety of commands, including “sit,” “down,” “stay,” “come,” “middle,” and even “up,” where he’ll stand on his hind legs using your arm for support. Peanut is highly food-motivated and will do just about anything for a treat, making him eager to learn and a joy to train. He thrives on human interaction and attention. Peanut is house-trained and puppy pad trained, but he struggles with being confined or left alone. He’s happiest when he has the freedom to roam and plenty of activities to keep him engaged. While he loves meeting new doggy friends, he can become vocal and frustrated if he sees another dog and can’t say hello. Peanut’s boundless energy and zest for life make him a wonderful companion for someone who can keep up with his adventurous nature. His ideal home would be with an active individual or family who enjoys outdoor activities and can give him the time, attention, and exercise he needs. A yard or access to open spaces would be perfect for Peanut to explore and play. His new family should also be patient and willing to work on his crate and alone-time training to help him feel more secure. With Peanut by your side, every day will be an adventure filled with love, laughter, and plenty of tail wags! PupStarz rescue cannot guarantee the breed, size, temperament, or age of any dog.

Story
I adopted Legend during the COVID pandemic, and like many pandemic pups, he missed out on proper training and socialization, which has impacted his behavior to this day. After things reopened, I sent him away for training, but unfortunately, it was a complete failure. He ended up getting injured and attacked, which led to reactive leash aggression towards other dogs. Despite my efforts, including sending him to a professional trainer who made significant improvements, I realized that my return to the office has resulted in neglect for my German Shepherd. He deserves a home where he can receive the love, attention, and daily walks he craves. Legend is a sweet dog who adores people and loves to be petted. This decision is incredibly difficult because he means the world to me, but I want to ensure he has the life he truly deserves. I'm looking for a loving home that can provide him with the time and care he needs to thrive.

Story
Meet Kuku🧡 Kuku is one of Danpoong’s five puppies. On a bitter winter day, Danpoong was brought to Koren city shelter, where she gave birth to five puppies and suffered from monge. After Adogs rescued them, the other puppies found their forever homes but Kuku and his mom Danpoong are still waiting for their family. * With People : Loves people so he greets familiar ones with kisses. Gets scared or barks at strangers who approach swiftly and refuses treats. Hides to the room after barking with fear at new people who visit home. Warms up shortly if they take time and approach him slowly. * With Dogs: Is calm, slightly interested, and wants to greet dogs that are indifferent to him. Caution is needed because he sometimes gets excited when greeting new dogs. * With Cats: Sniffs calmly at cats who stay still but tries to chase running cats. He tries to fight back against aggressive cats so caution is needed. * Separation Anxiety: None at all! Plays or sleeps alone very well even without humans around. * Potty Training: Prefers outdoor potty but uses indoor pads with 100% accuracy. * Hygiene: Dislikes baths but gets through it well. Is afraid of having nails trimmed and tries to nip. His nail length is being controlled with regular walks. Is very good with having his teeth and fur brushed! * Walks: Goes for walks on a double leash. May pull on the leash when dogs, birds, cats or other animals pass by swiftly. May get nervous and bark when a person suddenly comes running in his direction and is going through training. * Car Sickness: May have car sickness when he rides the car for over 30 minutes. It would be better not to feed him before car rides. * Has mastered commands such as "sit," "right paw," “left paw,” "lie down," "nose," "V," and is a quick learner. * Is learning recall so he comes back nicely if you call his name, except in cases where he is surprised. * Has a good appetite, so he may growl when you try to touch his snack. * May get nervous and try to bite defensively when a stranger comes to touch him suddenly. * When forced to be hugged or someone tries to touch him recklessly, he show discomfort by baring his teeth. * Is scared and sometimes barks when he hears sudden or unfamiliar noises, but stops very quckly. * Gets scared easily, but is also a very curious dog. Shows a lot of affection when you become close to him!

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Barry (TX) is a male Belgium shepherd Malinois mix rescued in Texas. Our veterinary partner estimates that Barry is 4 months old at the time of intake early May 2023. Barry is a lovely, medium sized 11 month old puppy who loves to be with his people and cuddle. He is an excellent companion to his humans! Barry can and should spend long periods of time napping but will happily engage in fun activities at the right times. Barry loves starting his day with a game of fetch in the morning, go on walks throughout the day, and have playtime with his interactive toys. Barry loves to turn in early in his cozy quiet area to get some solid zzz's.. only to wake up refreshed and ready to start his day again. Barry is a very smart dog who can learn very quickly from a skilled trainer who can help him fit into his forever home. Barry spent time in a shelter, so he does startle easily in some situations without the right attention and training. He is doing great with his learning to socialize with other dogs and is already showing responses to the appropriate training that all young puppies need. Barry would be a great fit for a family with older kids or no children. If you think Barry would be a wonderful addition to your family, p lease  apply online to adopt Barry (TX) at www.rescuedogsrocknyc.org RDR's adoption fees include the cost of spay/neuter/microchip at an RDR-approved facility, whether completed before adoption or if deferred because the pet is too young or has a medical issue.  All pets are also current on age-appropriate vaccines at the time of adoptionGiven technical constraints on this database, this pet's location may not be as listed here. Our veterinary partner estimates that Autumn is 1 year old at the time of intake in Sept 2023.  Autumn is good with people and other dogs.  Autumn is a young mother with 3 puppies, she did not have a good life on a chain and neglected. Autumn is a smart, spunky, happy girl who has shown herself to be incredibly loyal to her people. She still has a lot of puppy energy and will need an owner who understands her need to work and is willing to provide her with the physical and mental exercise she needs. Autumn would love a job! She is highly trainable and would excel at anything from agility to nose work. She would also like a doggie friend that can match her energy and play style. Autumn is potty trained and has never had an accident inside. She is good in her crate provided she is given proper exercise. She is also uncharacteristically sweet and snuggly for her breed. Story
Meet Chick! 🐾 Chick is a 6-month-old, 26-pound (as of 4/4) Dutch Shepherd/Heeler mix who is blossoming more and more each week. Once a shy little shadow, Chick has truly come into her own. She's playful, silly, and always ready for a tug-of-war or a zoomie session around the yard. She's also incredibly snuggly and laid-back—an easy puppy to have around and love. Chick has made huge strides in just a few short weeks. She’s learning the world isn’t so scary, and has even started enjoying trips outside and exploring new places like the local pet store and her foster’s workplace. While she still gets nervous around loud trucks and trains, she’s already made noticeable progress just by hearing and seeing them from the yard. At home, Chick is respectful and sweet with other dogs. Once unsure, she now plays gently and even brings her chew toys over for a snuggle. She’s good at self-soothing and entertains herself with toys without being destructive. She's low maintenance for a puppy—independent, quiet, and not overly needy. Chick chills in her crate or on place, and doesn’t even bark at the door (even when the other dog does!). She’s doing well with house training—she’s great about holding her bladder and has never had a poop accident inside. She’s still working on giving clear signals when she needs to go out, so continued consistency and routine will help. Though not super food motivated, Chick is an easy dog to live with. She’s the kind of pup who thrives in a calm, steady home with people who are willing to let her warm up on her own timeline. Once she trusts you, you’ll see just how loving and loyal she is. Chick is also currently living with a cat—while she’s still trying to win the cat over, she remains respectful and curious. If you're looking for a mellow, thoughtful puppy who surprises you daily with little moments of joy, Chick just might be your perfect match.
