Hi my name is Lady. I am a shy and quiet older girl who is looking for a home that is laid back and doesn't yet have a furry companion. They say I am 10 years old. I am a very calm gal that loves just laying around. I think I would make a perfect fit for someone or some family who is looking to have a shadow, cause I'm going to follow you everywhere! Besides being the best sidekick, I also enjoy napping, snacking, and walking. I am well-behaved on a leash and get real happy right before it's time to go outside. I especially like to stop and smell the flowers, even if they sometimes make me sneeze :) And I am housetrained.When it's time for slumber, I'll sleep in bed if you let me, but I also don't mind being in a crate or on doggie bed nearby. I would do best in a home without other dogs. I am fine with older kids. My ears are super sensitive so they are off limits. I’ve been told an ear ablation might help, but because of my age the doctor is worried I might not survive the surgery. I’m so sorry that my ears got infected, and my old owner didn’t take me to the vet a long time ago. Due to this I am part of the "Forever Foster" program, so when I am adopted CYP will cover pre-existing conditions like my meds for my ears. All I want is to find my forever home where I can be loved, be a couch potato and not have anyone bother my ears so I can finish living out my golden years in peace. Ralph is a smaller shepherd mix who is around a year old. He weighs about 40 pounds at the moment. But is still very thin. He was found on the side of the road and was thought to be dead. As I approached he attempted to live but was unable too as he had been hit by a car. He couldn't walk so I quickly wrapped him in my jacket and rushed him to the nearest vet. They informed me he had broken his pelvis in three places. The poor guy was skin and bones and scared of absolutely everything (most likely feral). He was put on crate rest and continued to be nervous and scared around any person or dog that came close. Slowly he has opened up and began trusting us. Although he still gets nervous at times he is extremely food motivated and that is the easiest way to win him over. He loves head and neck scratches as well. A complete sweetheart once he trusts you. He would thrive in a quiet home with a more confident dog or no dog at all. He has food aggression with any food that touches the ground and this should be closely monitored if in a multiple dog household. He can be friendly with other dogs but it takes a day or two for him to warm up to them. He is kennel trained and potty trained. Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Local adoption only

Hey! Have a seat and let me tell you more about me and my journey! My name is Ella, and as you can see I am a gorgeous German shepherd mixed girl, 65# of love and GSD personality :) If you love shepherds you know the breed- we are loving and goofy, hairy and protective- all rolled into one! I am typical of the breed, and so I need a shepherd knowledgeable family! I love my peeps, don't get me wrong, I just feel I need to protect my peeps too- duh, it's GENETIC! However, YOU need to be in charge, cause I am not a good leader :) OK, so on to the fun stuff! I am a happy go lucky girl, I am great with other dogs and love kids. I am 3 yrs old and was saved by my rescue in 2020. I was adopted shortly thereafter but returned to the rescue last month because I thought I was in charge and a protector.... Sweet Calista came to us with her little family of siblings. Caught roaming the streets we were able to capture them all and get them safe from starvation. Calista is a shy girl. She is going to require someone who has patience and understanding. In a matter or a minute her world was flipped upside down going from having to hunt and scavenge for food to a kennel and food and a bed. It was a lot for a little puppy to take in that had been on her own for so long. She is slowly opening up to her foster mom and every now and then will let her get on her level and come over for some pets/ licks of the hand. Treats and smelling like hot dogs/ peanut butter helps! Calista loves other dogs and gets along great with her foster homes pack. She is playful and energetic with them. Sometimes maybe too energetic as she can be an escape artist and find even the smallest of holes in the fence to see if she can fit and make a b-line to the neighbors house! Calista will need to stay local to Texas for the time being. Each day she is gaining confidence and understanding and realizing that people are not all mean and that there ares some out there that really do love dogs and want nothing but goodness for them. If you think you are ready to give Calista love, attention and help her build trust and confidence in herself and you then please apply!
