Story
M needs older kids (over the age of 5) or adults to be around. We are currently in the middle of building a family. M is not a fan. She doesn’t like babies, she’s very impatient with them and she wants all the attention. Which.. isn’t going to work out. She has too much energy for a 9 year old dog. We want to give her a life she will enjoy not one she has to struggle with till our kids are old enough. You can be an adult and want to adopt her she needs someone to give HER enough attention. She’s a great dog.. funny, smart & sassy but little babies are not the life for her. Side note : She is an OLDER DOG. You need to be patient if you would like to adopt an older dog you can’t make her sleep in your bed or cuddle her to your face the first day or week or month probably. She doesn’t know you. You need to build a bond. Give her time to adjust she’s not a robot.

Story
**APPLICATIONS IN DFW AREA ONLY WILL BE CONSIDRED** Meet Boone – Your Future Best Friend! Golden Retriever | Male | DOB: 1/31/2025 | Approx. 35 lbs (50–60 lbs full grown) Boone is a happy, bouncy bundle of love looking for a forever home where he can thrive! This handsome Golden Retriever pup was born at the end of January and, like most Goldens, he’s full of charm, smarts, and playful energy. At just 5 months old, Boone is already crate trained, housebroken (he will likely need an adjustment period in a new home), and doing great on a leash. He loves walks, romping in the yard, and being part of the action. He currently weighs about 35 pounds and is expected to grow into a big, strong boy in the 50–60 lb range. Boone gets along well with other dogs, cats, and children. However, because he’s still a clumsy, energetic pup, we recommend older kids who can help guide him as he continues to learn his manners. He has never shown aggression or bitten anyone—he’s just a big-hearted goofball who doesn’t always know his size. &#226&#156&#133 Neutered &#226&#156&#133 Microchipped (ID: 932002000719463) &#226&#156&#133 Up to date on Rabies, DHPPC, and heartworm prevention &#226&#157&#140 No special needs or medical concerns Boone would thrive in a home with a yard, active people, and someone who can give him the time, training, and attention he deserves. He’s ready to grow up into someone’s loyal hiking buddy, cuddle partner, and all-around best friend. Ready to give Boone the happy, active life he deserves? Apply today to meet this golden boy at: https://legacyhumanesociety.org/adoption-application/! We do not have a facility to house the dogs in our program. They are all kept in foster homes until they are adopted. Therefore, if you are interested in adopting from LHS, please complete an online application at http://legacyhumanesociety.org/adoptfoster/adoption-application/ and we will contact you asap about the status of your application. Beautiful retriever found as stray in the country. Nice family took her in and soon after she gave birth to 10 beautiful puppies. The puppies are now weaned and in foster homes ready to find their furever homes just as their sweet mom is. Since found as stray and desperate to find safety for her family she is a bit shy and takes some time to warm up but now that she can focus on herself we see improvements each day.

Story
This beautiful retriever was found as stray on Christmas Day. A good samaritan took her in and as soon as she knew she was safe she quickly delivered 10 little puppies. Adopting puppies is exciting and can be one of the most loving experiences. Puppies are young and cute, they are energetic, eager to learn, eager to please, happy, and exuberant. But it requires a significant commitment by their humans. While training puppies you need time, patience, consistency, routine and lots of love. Providing these essential elements helps them grow into well-adjusted, happy, and healthy furever companions. While we don't want to discourage anyone from adopting a puppy and want to continue to save more, we want the ones adopted to be successful in their homes. We have a large amount of resources available to help families navigate their lives with a new puppy. All Dallas Dog adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines upon finalizing adoption. Puppies adopted under the age of five months require a spay/neuter contract, and all dogs are required to be spayed by six months unless otherwise medically noted. Our dogs are currently on heartworm preventative. Puppies receive 3 to 4 rounds of vaccinations depending on their age, and adults receive two rounds unless they've been with us longer than a year, in which case they receive the booster update. You can complete an application or view all the adoptable pets on our website at www.dallasdog.org/adopt. Upon receiving your application, please allow us 2-3 business days to review and process.

Snickers is a 4 month old puppy who loves to cuddle on the couch and play in the backyard. He’s kennel trained and goes in when we say the word kennel. We’re working on basic commands and leash walking. He’s great with other dogs and our 1 year old son. A perfect family dog! This beautiful retriever was found as stray on Christmas Day.
