Story
Hi, I’m Millie! I’m a medium-sized girl with a big personality and an even bigger heart. My favorite place in the world is right next to my people. If you’re looking for a loyal sidekick who loves cuddles, kisses, and quality time, I might just be your perfect match. I love playing with other dogs and currently have a large dog friend that I adore. I’m smart, treat-motivated, and always excited to learn new things. My foster says I’m the sweetest girl ever, but I do have one funny habit...I give the most dramatic sighs and stretches you’ve ever seen! I’m also completely fascinated by animals on TV and will happily sit and watch along with you. I’m crate trained, potty trained, great with kids and other dogs, and ready to find a family of my own. I’ve been waiting patiently, and I can’t wait to meet the lucky people I get to love forever. Love, Millie 🐾 All Dallas Dog adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines upon finalizing adoption. Puppies adopted under the age of five months require a spay/neuter contract, and all dogs are required to be spayed by six months unless otherwise medically noted. Our dogs are currently on heartworm preventative. Puppies receive 3 to 4 rounds of vaccinations depending on their age, and adults receive two rounds unless they've been with us longer than a year, in which case they receive the booster update. You can complete an application or view all the adoptable pets on our website at www.dallasdog.org/adopt. Upon receiving your application, please allow us 2-3 business days to review and process.

Story
Are you my forever companion? I'm Charlie, a sweet and loving pup looking for my perfect match. I'm a bit particular and enjoy my routine, so someone who understands and can accommodate that would be ideal. I can be shy at first, so a patient and kind partner is a must. No other furry friends or little ones at home, please! A cozy yard for playtime would be wonderful, but l'm not a fan of long walks or car rides. Let's cuddle up at home together! Charlie wants you to know even with his black fur and scars from puppy strangles, he is handsome, sweet, loving, smart and has all the same love and personality as the fluffy one over there! Charlie loves meeting new people; not around kiddos much. He is practicing his manners and learning his commands. He is fully potty trained and uses a doggy door. He knows the command sit and we are working on more. He loves taking walks and exploring the outdoors. He loves his ball and playing in the sprinkler. Charlie is king of the backyard sunshine! He loves to play but is a very chill, loving boy. All Dallas Dog adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines upon finalizing adoption. You can complete an application or view all the adoptable pets on our website at http://dallasdog.org/adopt. Upon receiving your application please allow us 2-3 business days to review and process.

Story
Sandy is a 1.5-year-old tan Retriever mix with long legs, a goofy smile, and enough energy to keep life exciting! This tall and lanky girl is always ready for her next adventure and would absolutely thrive with an active family who can keep up with her playful spirit.Sandy loves to run, play, and explore the world around her. Whether it’s hiking trails, trips to the park, or long walks around the neighborhood, she’s happiest when she’s on the move with her people. She’s very social and enjoys being near you, soaking up pets and attention whenever she can. Treats are definitely one of the quickest ways to win her heart, too! This fun-loving girl does still need some work on her basic manners and training. She can be strong on the leash, so a harness is highly recommended to help make walks more manageable while she continues learning. Sandy can also get a little mouthy when she gets excited, so she would do best in a home without young children.Sandy appears to be dog friendly, but as always, a meet and greet is required to ensure compatibility with any current dogs in the home.If you’re looking for a playful, adventurous companion who will happily join you on all of life’s adventures while learning and growing by your side, Sandy may be your perfect match!

Story
Meet Mason – The Best Friend You Didn't Know You Were Missing! Every once in a while, a dog comes along who quietly works his way into your heart. Mason is that dog. He is the kind of companion who simply wants to be by your side through every moment life has to offer. Whether he's leaning into you for pets, wrapping you in one of his signature hugs, or following you from room to room just to be near you, Mason loves with his whole heart. Once you meet him, it's almost impossible to imagine life without him. Mason is a breathtaking Golden Retriever mix with a gorgeous soft fluffy coat, an adorable curly tail, and the sweetest expression you've ever seen. People often stop to admire how handsome he is, but it's his incredible personality that truly steals the show. Affection is Mason's love language. He lives for snuggles, belly rubs, and simply being close to his people. If he needs a little extra attention, he'll gently put his paws around you for one of his famous hugs. It's impossible not to smile when this big teddy bear decides it's cuddle time. Mason also has plenty to say! He's quite the conversationalist and isn't shy about "talking" to his family. When it's time to go outside, he'll happily let you know by chatting with you as he heads toward the door. His funny little conversations are just one more thing that makes him so incredibly lovable. When playtime rolls around, Mason is always ready for an adventure. He loves every kind of toy and will enthusiastically chase after a ball or his favorite stuffed toy. Bringing it back? That's not really his style! Mason's favorite game is getting you to chase him instead, turning every game of fetch into a fun game of tag that will have everyone laughing. If there's water involved, Mason is even happier. Sprinklers, the garden hose, splashing around on a warm day—he absolutely loves it all. Watching him play in the water is guaranteed to brighten your day. And if you're wondering how to win Mason's heart even faster, it's simple: boiled eggs! They're his all-time favorite treat, and he'll happily show off his wonderful manners for one. Speaking of manners, Mason is an absolute gentleman. He's fully house trained; crate trained and walks beautifully on a leash. Whether you're exploring the neighborhood, heading to the park, or relaxing at home, Mason is an easy companion who simply enjoys sharing life with his family. Mason is looking for a home where he can truly thrive. He will need a cat-free home, as cats just aren't his thing. He also prefers female canine companions that are his size or larger. That said, Mason would also be perfectly happy being your one and only dog, where he can soak up every bit of love and attention all for himself. More than anything, Mason is searching for someone to love forever. Someone who wants a loyal shadow, a cuddle buddy, a walking partner, a conversation companion, and a best friend all wrapped into one incredibly handsome dog. If your home feels like it's missing something, it might just be Mason. He's the kind of dog who doesn't simply become part of the family—he becomes part of your heart. Mason at a Glance Golden Retriever mix House trained Crate trained Walks beautifully on a leash Loves hugs, cuddles, and leaning into his people ️ "Talks" to let you know when he needs to go outside Loves sprinklers, the water hose, and playing in water Loves toys, chasing balls, and getting you to chase him Favorite treat: Boiled eggs Best with female dogs his size or larger Would thrive as an only dog or with a compatible female companion Cat-free home required If Mason sounds like the best friend you've been searching for, we'd love to hear from you! Please complete an adoption application at www.legacyhumanesociety.org, and Mason's foster mom will be in touch. We can't wait for you to meet this incredible boy—we have a feeling he'll steal your heart the moment you do.  We do not have a facility to house the dogs in our program. They are all kept in foster homes until they are adopted. Therefore, if you are interested in adopting from LHS, please complete an online application at http://legacyhumanesociety.org/adoptfoster/adoption-application/ and we will contact you asap about the status of your application.
