Bear is 1/2 rough collie 1/2 golden retriever. He will turn 2 on 9/7 and is one of the best puppies around who thinks he’s a lap dog even though he’s much bigger than your lap. Ideally a single dog/single pet home that has the time to keep up with his energy. He does well on walks and just loves to be the center of attention. He has the best doofus lip when his teeth get stuck on his lip and just wants to be loved. He has been around small kids and babies but he still has the energy and sometimes manners of a puppy. We want him to go to a good home that will take the best care of him. He has an appointment on 7/13 to get neutered. If you’re the lucky winner of this special puppy, we will still cover the cost of it if you take him to the clinic we have him scheduled at in Tacoma.

Calvin is a friendly, people-loving young Golden who enjoys tug, fetch, swimming, playing with other dogs, and being involved in daily life. He has been gentle and playful with kids, does well with other dogs, and has been around cats without chasing or harassing them. He has shown no aggression and no resource guarding. Calvin is up to date on vaccines and has no known health issues. He is not currently neutered. He has completed basic puppy training and knows sit, down, and leave it. He is still working on stay, recall, and leash manners. He can pull on leash and should not be trusted off leash in busy or unsecured areas yet. Calvin can be crated when needed, though he does not love the crate. He has done well loose in the house for reasonable periods when tempting items like towels are put away. He may bark briefly when his person leaves and may bark at delivery people. One thing to know is that Calvin has a hard time with car rides. He can become stressed, drooly, and may vomit, so his adopter should be willing to work on car comfort slowly and patiently. Calvin is being rehomed through a home-to-home process Calvin’s ideal home would be active, patient, and committed to continuing positive training. A home that enjoys outdoor activities, playtime, and including a young Golden in daily life could be a great fit.
