Meet Gorgonzola - Gord for short - one of our "Cheese" Rescue Family! Gord is a 3-month old goldendoodle, soft, sweet, playful and smart. Gord came into our rescue with his brother Cam, and misses him, so a home with another dog will likely ease his transition. Gord will need someone who can give him the time and attention to continue his training and give him the activity he will need. Gord definitely favors his golden side as you can see from his photos, and has the kind loving attitude of a golden as well. We feel Gord would do best in a home with another dog to show him the ropes. Gorgonzola will be adopted with a contract and deposit to ensure neuter, and will be Microchipped and current on vaccinations included in his adoption donation.

Meet Tallulah- goes by Tulli for short! Tulli was originally being trained to be a service dog and lost her person. Some unfortunate circumstances left her in flux and being crated for hours and hours every day. This sweet girl has done nothing wrong but has endured too much isolation and lack of affectionate care. All that has changed now and she is in a loving foster home, learning about couch time and cuddles, safe backyard playtime and walks. Tulli has basic commands but her new family will need to understand her need for closeness and manage her enthusiasm. She is a smart and funny girl who loves fetch already. Tulli is also tiny for a golden at only 43 pounds and while she will gain a few pounds on quality food and with appropriate exercise, she will likely be less than 50 pounds. Tulli will be spayed soon, brought current on vaccinations and is Microchipped included in her adoption donation. Tulli will be adopted to a home with a secured fenced area for safe play.

Cheddar - literally the BIG Cheese! Handsome Cheddar came to us as a retired breeder stud. He has mostly lived outdoors on his farm, and obviously helped himself to seconds (and thirds!). Cheddar is such a beautiful soul, now working on his weight and skin issues at his foster, for the first time he is learning all about soft places to sleep, toys and cuddles! Cheddar does so well with other dogs, and humans, he just needs that perfect home to continue his weight loss journey and live that good PNW life! Cheddar can do stairs and loves to run around the yard, and with a continued weight loss of 30-40 pounds ahead, nothing will stop Cheddar now. All he really needs beyond his diet is a person to be his best friend and partner through life. Cheddar loves to run in the yard, no lazy bones here. Cheddar had to be partially shaved to remove horrible matting, and his grooming will be tuned up and evened out soon. And hair grows back - just ask any golden retriever parent! Cheddar is current on his vaccinations, Microchipped and is neutered as a part of his adoption donation.

Meet Lexie! Lexie is thought to be about 8 years old, although she acts younger sometimes. She likes to chase a ball (and sometimes brings it back!), and she wrestles with Marshall as he tolerates. She LOVES affection and would really like to be an oversized lap dog. Lexie and Marshall (Marshall is also on our website), are quite bonded and have lived together their whole lives. They were not fed properly and were infested with fleas. The owner rehomed them and nobody knows what happened next, but they were found wandering, starving, and Marshall had a face and mouth full of porcupine quills. Lexie and Marshall get along with each other very well, and even still play together. They lived with 3 indoor/outdoor cats, and both walk well on a leash. We would love to see them in a home together, but if they need to be separated in order to find a home, we will consider that too. Lexie is vaccinated, spayed and chipped. Her adoption fee is $450 We cover the medical to prepare the pet for adoption and the adopt donations go directly to cover those costs and range from $295-$495. Name: Denny Age: 4 years Sex: Neutered Male Breed: Golden Retriever Color: Gold Weight: 31 kg Height: 66 cm (shoulder height) Rescue Story Denny was rescued in February 2025 after being placed on the euthanasia list at a city shelter. He stayed at a private shelter for several months and moved to his foster home in June. Since then, he has blossomed into the most affectionate, people-loving Golden boy. ‍‍‍ Socialization with People Denny is an incredibly affectionate dog who loves everyone — familiar people and strangers alike. • He leans in for pets, rubs against people, and loves belly rubs. • He is excellent with children under 13 and is comfortable being lifted or handled gently. • Even with new people, he often rolls over to show his belly. • He enjoys being near people during downtime, though he prefers sleeping alone. • He can be very enthusiastic — sometimes running in for hugs or kisses, which can surprise those not used to big friendly dogs! • No issues with baths, paw cleaning, or handling. He tolerates teeth brushing but isn’t a fan. Socialization with Dogs Denny is friendly and polite with other dogs. • He approaches both familiar and unfamiliar dogs to greet and play. • He matches well with medium to large dogs and enjoys playful interactions. With Cats • He watches cats with curiosity outdoors, but when guided by his handler, he follows direction well and continues walking. (He may be suitable for a cat home with proper introductions.) Energy Level • At first glance he seems high-energy, but his stamina is moderate. • After 3–4 hours of outdoor activity, he often falls asleep as soon as he gets in the car. • During play with dog friends, he starts energetic but will bark to set boundaries when he becomes tired or overstimulated. ‍ Walks & Outdoor Behavior Denny is a joy to walk. • He has plenty of leash experience and doesn’t pull. • He loves sniffing and will naturally slow down or stop to explore scents. • He becomes excited when he sees the leash — may jump or mouth the leash — so calming him before leaving the house is important. • He loves balls and toys; he can even find hidden balls in grass and often brings home any he discovers during walks! Other Behaviors • No resource guarding toward people or dogs. • Rarely barks. • Calm in a crate and knows how to get in/out of the car by himself. • Sometimes refuses to get in the car after walks because he wants to stay outside longer. • Mostly potty-trained outdoors. • If he has stomach discomfort early in the morning, he will wake his person up to go outside — letting him out promptly helps prevent indoor accidents. • Occasionally gets soft stool after eating too many treats.
