Mr Loyal! That is what describes this boy in one word. Romo was once owned by someone in Aruba who then moved to the Netherlands. They gave him to some friends that let him roam the streets. We found him strolling along at a bus stop with a huge hematoma on his ear. He jumped right in the car and we took him to the vet. He had surgery and has now recovered from it. We were asked to take him with us to the US as the new owners didn't have the means to take care of him. Romo is an extremely loyal dog, calm and quiet and at the same time friendly with people and dogs. He's is extremely well mannered. Call us to hear about him and learn why we think he is the most loyal dog. His previous owner says he is 4 years old ( the vet says 5) and if you look on our Facebook page you will see all his posts about him. Oh and yes he loves riding in the car with you. He is house broken, does not like the cage to much, but that's ok. He doesn't get himself in trouble in the house. This is a great big dog! He mostly looks like a Great Daner, but could also have some Labrador in it. He is not a drooler like the Danes are. He likes other dogs but will also do well when being just with his special person. We would like to adopt him out within 40 miles of Elgin. His adoption fee is $350 to help us with the cost for his plane ride and the associated vet expenses.

Meet Cherry! She is a stunning blue gray Great Dane. Cherry is 100 lbs of pure sweetness. The love this girl has to give is unmatched. She wants nothing more than to be your best friend and companion. Cherry is about a year and a half old. Loves everyone she meets, adults, kids and dogs. She is such a silly, goofy, playful girl that just loves all that life has to give her. Due to her size and exuberant personality, she would do best in a home with older children. Cherry came to us after being found wandering the streets. She wasn’t microchipped and no one came to claim her. There was a team of people pushing to find a rescue to take her in and after spending a month being boarded, her time was up due to city funding. That’s where we came in! Through the power of social media and networking, we were made aware of Cherry needing help so that she wouldn’t be put to sleep. No doubt the fact that she had cherry eye (thus her name) in both eyes, and being a big dog, it was a deterrent to a lot of rescues. Since bringing her into our rescue, she’s had surgery to correct the cherry eye and has been spayed. More than likely she will always have that droopy eye look but it’s really just cosmetic at this point. Now she just needs a home of her own! Cherry is young, energetic and will benefit from some basic training. Her new family will need to be understanding and willing to work with her to become the best version of herself. You will be rewarded tenfold as she is incredibly sweet. Cherry travels well in an SUV, is housebroken and crate trained. Local adoptions only. We do not adopt out of the state of Illinois. Cherry is being fostered in a private home. Appointments to meet her will be set up for approved adopters only. Her adoption fee is $500 which includes all age appropriate vaccines. She is spayed, microchipped and Heartworm negative. She has also been kept on both flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. We rescued Zoe in 2020. When she first came to us she took a long time to warm up to my Husband. However, she took to me (Mom) and our 3 little boys and their friends immediately. She was abused at her previous home, but we took her in at 7 months old. She is now inseparable from my Husband. She is loving and very protective over her family, especially over the kids. We love her so much and will only allow her to go to a home that can love her like we do. I unfortunately am disabled and my condition is getting to a point where I am unable to take care of her basic needs. My Husband works 2 jobs and is my caretaker as well. She needs more than we can give her. Danes, especially Zoe, are known for lounging around most of the day. But she does still like to play.

The sweetest most loving and loyal girl. She is playful and still acts like a puppy even though she is a young adult. She is very protective over children especially. She has only had contact with our neighborhood dogs and always wants to play but we are unsure as to how she would be with new friends. I am disabled and my health is declining. My Husband works 2 jobs and is my caretaker as well. We love our little girl so very much, we can only send her to a home that will love here as much as we do.
