Mr Loyal! That is what describes this boy in one word. Romo was once owned by someone in Aruba who then moved to the Netherlands. They gave him to some friends that let him roam the streets. We found him strolling along at a bus stop with a huge hematoma on his ear. He jumped right in the car and we took him to the vet. He had surgery and has now recovered from it. We were asked to take him with us to the US as the new owners didn't have the means to take care of him. Romo is an extremely loyal dog, calm and quiet and at the same time friendly with people and dogs. He's is extremely well mannered. Call us to hear about him and learn why we think he is the most loyal dog. His previous owner says he is 4 years old ( the vet says 5) and if you look on our Facebook page you will see all his posts about him. Oh and yes he loves riding in the car with you. He is house broken, does not like the cage to much, but that's ok. He doesn't get himself in trouble in the house. This is a great big dog! He mostly looks like a Great Daner, but could also have some Labrador in it. He is not a drooler like the Danes are. He likes other dogs but will also do well when being just with his special person. We would like to adopt him out within 40 miles of Elgin. His adoption fee is $350 to help us with the cost for his plane ride and the associated vet expenses.

A few years ago, this sweet girl was found dumped along the fence of our rescue! She was skin and bones and needed immediate help, so we named her MayDay. Our best guess is she around 6 or 7 years old and a Great Dane/ Staffshire terrier mix. She is very gentle, loves people, and really enjoys car rides. Mayday gets along with males, but is not very playful with other dogs. She would do best as the only fur baby in the home. Since she has been a kennel dog her whole life, MayDay is not pot trained so she will need a family who understands that. This dear girl would love a chance to live out her days in the comfort of a home with a family who will love her! Me and my partner at the time purchased thunder from a breeder. He is a big goofy and slobbery boy. Loves to be the center of attention, and getting out to run around in the yard. He is a great walker, and is truly a gentle giant who doesnt know his size. He was housed with another dog and cat. As well as 3 kids 13 and under. Unfortunately, me and my partner did not work out, and my work schedule has me out of the house 15 hours a day. This is not ideal for any animal, and i would like thunder to go to a person/or family that can suit his needs better than i can.

Meet Cherry! She is a stunning blue gray Great Dane. Cherry is 100 lbs of pure sweetness. The love this girl has to give is unmatched. She wants nothing more than to be your best friend and companion. Cherry is about a year and a half old. Loves everyone she meets, adults, kids and dogs. She is such a silly, goofy, playful girl that just loves all that life has to give her. Due to her size and exuberant personality, she would do best in a home with older children. Cherry came to us after being found wandering the streets. She wasn’t microchipped and no one came to claim her. There was a team of people pushing to find a rescue to take her in and after spending a month being boarded, her time was up due to city funding. That’s where we came in! Through the power of social media and networking, we were made aware of Cherry needing help so that she wouldn’t be put to sleep. No doubt the fact that she had cherry eye (thus her name) in both eyes, and being a big dog, it was a deterrent to a lot of rescues. Since bringing her into our rescue, she’s had surgery to correct the cherry eye and has been spayed. More than likely she will always have that droopy eye look but it’s really just cosmetic at this point. Now she just needs a home of her own! Cherry is young, energetic and will benefit from some basic training. Her new family will need to be understanding and willing to work with her to become the best version of herself. You will be rewarded tenfold as she is incredibly sweet. Cherry travels well in an SUV, is housebroken and crate trained. Local adoptions only. We do not adopt out of the state of Illinois. Cherry is being fostered in a private home. Appointments to meet her will be set up for approved adopters only. Her adoption fee is $500 which includes all age appropriate vaccines.
