Story
Name:  Lucy Age: 2 years Weight: 95 lbs Adoption Fee: $350.00 Good with Dogs?  Yes, but she can be a little pushy so a mellow dog would be okay   Good with cats?  Yes   Good with kids?  Yes, but due to her size she needs a home with kids who are at least 5 years old and used to being around dogs    Lucy was surrendered to a shelter when her owners were no longer able to care for her   She was very thin and had a serious case of happy tail (tail damaged from hitting it on things and it wouldn’t heal).   She is now a healthy weight, has a nub tail and we did a Gastropexy (stomach tacking) when she was spayed).  We were told she has a chicken allergy so she’s been eating lamb and rice food, with no issues.     She has no idea how big she so her goal in life is to be a lap dog.   Lucy is sweet and loves being the center of attention.     Don’t wait!  Get your application in now for this amazing dog.  Lucy is spayed, vaccinated, heartworm tested, micro chipped and had gastropexy surgery.   Her adoption fee is $350.00.     Adoption Process: Step 1:     Complete a "no obligation" application located on our website at pawprintsnky.com under the applications tab. Step 2:     PawPrints will review the application, verifying Vet and personal references as well as landlord requirements/restrictions (if applicable) Step 3:     IF your application is approved, we will call you to schedule a meet and greet for you to meet the pet. &#226&#128&#139Step 4:    If the meet and greet goes well, we will schedule the home visit.          May 15, 2024, 4:17 pm

Story
Please contact Jetta (Jetta.elliott@att.net) for more information about this pet.Huge loving great Dane labrador mix, femaleAthena is a sweet, excitable girl with a troubled past. She was rescued from a pack of wild dogs. She was the only friendly dog among the pack and the one picked on. She loves people, even strangers, but doesn't particularly like other animals. Athena needs to be the only dog in a home and she also values her personal space when it comes to cats. She doesn't like baths, but she loves to play fetch and cuddle. Athena is spayed and approximately 80lbs about two years old. She is currently with Ozark Homeward Bound animal rescue in Harrison, Arkansas. She is transported to your location through the rescue network transport. There’s no additional fee for the transport service. It is included in the adoption fee.May 20, 2024, 9:42 am

I was picked up dodging traffic on a busy highway in Miami County. I was scared, hungry and looking for my owners. A nice person picked me up and took me to the Miami County Animal Shelter. Although they treated me great, I was so scared they quickly realized I needed to come to Harlequin Haven. The next day I was here!! I have a soft bed, tons of toys and I will be fed every few hours until I gain my weight. Update 4/3: Oops I forgot to tell you I weigh 73.6 pounds and Grandma told me I should weigh at least 120 pounds!! Update 4/23: I now weigh 85 pounds and gaining!! Story
I was found roaming the country roads in Adams County. I was scared and very hungry when a nice man stopped and picked me up. It turns out he was the Adams County Dog Warden. At first, they did not realize that I had a sight impairment and they just assumed I was scared of everything. Then they noticed my eyes looked funny. Unfortunately, being a rural county animal shelter, they do not have funds for medical care, so they decided I needed to come to a rescue. Well, here I am at Harlequin Haven and loving life!! I just arrived yesterday morning and I already have an appointment to see the Vet first thing tomorrow morning!! I just want to thank the dog warden and the employees at the shelter for keeping me safe!! I hope my previous owners see this because I want to thank them for dumping a sight impaired puppy on the road and not being man/woman enough to make sure I was in a safe place. I do believe in karma and one day you will get yours! Update 11/20: I went to the Vet this morning and it was what the rescue expected. I am not 100% blind, but I have very limited sight. I have Congenital Optic Nerve Abnormality; the vet believes it is hereditary since I am so young. Unfortunately, there is nothing that can be done to fix it. Update 11/21: I added some new pictures of me below so you could see how handsome I am!! Our adoption area is Ohio and extreme Northern Kentucky We do not adopt to any other areas, no exceptions.
