Story
Hi there! My name is Dunny! I am a super adorable little over 2yr old big boy that has an even bigger heart and quite the personality. I love people and attention. I am an expert at the `lean` , the more you pet me the harder I lean into you. I`ve been told I have great leash manners and am known to be extremely gentle. I do tend to push my way through my kennel door. I just cant help it, there is so much out there to explore. So... I may need some training with that but I am super treat motivated so that could help tremendously. I am unsure at this time how I would do with other pups or children. If you have either in your household please bring them on in so we can ensure a good match.

Story
Meet Misty! She's a smart lady who is smart as a whip! She's crate trained, mastered many commands (sit, down, off, mat, enough, go to your room, here, all done- more than most kids :). She loves to run, play fetch and be wherever you are! She's a year and a half old, and was lucky enough to have professional training donated to help her find her forever home. Whoever adopts her will receive at least one free hand off session from her trainer to help her transition go perfectly! Her ideal family would be somewhat active (she needs to run around a yard at least a few times per day). She gets along well with other dogs, but calmer dogs are best. Misty loves to play, but she can get very excited if the other dog is too energetic! She would do well with older children. Younger children and cats would require a lot of supervision. Her trainer thinks she would be a great agility dog, but she is smart enough to do anything you want to train her to do! She will require some active parenting to teach her the rules of your house, because she is so smart, she may try to make her own activities if nothing fun is provided! She's potty trained now (we had some overnight accidents until she started going in her crate at night). She's a great dog with a good head on her shoulders, and she wants to know if you are the one for her! $200 In State Adoption Fee (in Texas) $400 Out of State Fee (includes Transportation to your area) $50 Temporary fuel surcharge.

Story
Benny is a joyful, playful pup full of energy and always ready for his next adventure! He loves squeaky toys and will happily bounce around the yard or play a game of fetch to burn off some of that fun-loving energy. He’s great with kids and other dogs, making him a wonderful addition to a family. Benny is already house trained and crate trained—such a smart boy! He’s currently working on his basic commands and will need a family committed to continuing his training and helping him polish his manners. With his long legs like a Great Dane and a sleek Lab-like coat, Benny is as handsome as he is athletic. He would thrive in an active home where he can get plenty of exercise, playtime, and mental stimulation. After a day of fun, Benny is more than happy to hang out with his people and soak up all the love. If you’re looking for a happy, energetic, and affectionate companion, Benny just might be your perfect match! Local adoption fee is $200(in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $450 (includes transport to your area)

Story
Hank is a two year old Great Dane mix who is looking for a home with a patient adopter. He is learning to trust people and needs time and encouragement to show him that things are not scary.  Earning his trust is extremely gratifying - he is a sweet, scared boy who is learning to love affection and the comforts of his foster home.    Hank likes inappropriate chewing (but he is learning) and enjoys quietly chewing small pieces off of soft blankets and toys. He likes to follow other, more confident dogs. Hank ignores our cat, is house trained, and has excellent leash manners. He is crate trained and is working on being less reliant on that safe space as he learns to explore his world.    Hank would be a great fit for a home with another dog to show him the ropes. Due to his size and his tendency to flee from scary things or sudden movement, he probably would do best in a home without younger children. If you have ever wanted to watch a dog truly blossom in your love and care, this big guy could be the one for you. May 21, 2026, 10:28 pm

Story
Meet Mae! This beautiful girl is a 45 lb four-month-old Great Dane mix. She is full of energy and is ready to be the best playmate for her forever family! Mae is a typical puppy and absolutely loves to play! If it squeaks or rolls, she loves it. She will even wander around the yard collecting sticks for your spring fires. When it comes to potty time, Mae is still learning, but she is making progress and goes quickly whenever she is taken outside on the leash. Mae is crate trained and has no trouble going into her crate where she sleeps quietly throughout the night. Mae has lots of puppy energy to burn and would love an active household to keep her moving! From learning to play fetch in the yard, going for a long walk, or romping around with a doggie playmate, Mae is ready for it all! She plays well with her human brother and dog foster sisters, but does not yet understand how big she is in comparison. Mae might due best in a home with older children, adults, or dogs near her size. Mae is currently located in the Cincinnati, OH area and her adoption fee is $400. To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals. For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible. We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.

Story
Our family adopted Archie as a puppy and we have loved watching him grow up. He will be 3 years old as of March 26. He is such a sweetheart and loves to snuggle up to his humans. He has a lot of personality and loves to play with his toys.. he always has a stuffy in his mouth! He would be best in a home without small children as he seems to get nervous around kids he doesn’t know. Archie gets along well with other dogs, but probably not those under 50lbs and not cats. He does resource guard his food. Rehoming him does feel like losing a member of the family, but I lost my husband a year ago and it’s just been too difficult for me to care for him along with my five children alone.
