Story
Name:  Lucy Age: 2 years Weight: 95 lbs Adoption Fee: $350.00 Good with Dogs?  Yes, but she can be a little pushy so a mellow dog would be okay   Good with cats?  Yes   Good with kids?  Yes, but due to her size she needs a home with kids who are at least 5 years old and used to being around dogs    Lucy was surrendered to a shelter when her owners were no longer able to care for her   She was very thin and had a serious case of happy tail (tail damaged from hitting it on things and it wouldn’t heal).   She is now a healthy weight, has a nub tail and we did a Gastropexy (stomach tacking) when she was spayed).  We were told she has a chicken allergy so she’s been eating lamb and rice food, with no issues.     She has no idea how big she so her goal in life is to be a lap dog.   Lucy is sweet and loves being the center of attention.     Don’t wait!  Get your application in now for this amazing dog.  Lucy is spayed, vaccinated, heartworm tested, micro chipped and had gastropexy surgery.   Her adoption fee is $350.00.     Adoption Process: Step 1:     Complete a "no obligation" application located on our website at pawprintsnky.com under the applications tab. Step 2:     PawPrints will review the application, verifying Vet and personal references as well as landlord requirements/restrictions (if applicable) Step 3:     IF your application is approved, we will call you to schedule a meet and greet for you to meet the pet. &#226&#128&#139Step 4:    If the meet and greet goes well, we will schedule the home visit.          October 12, 2024, 12:11 pm

Story
I was born in a puppy mill; from there I went to Petland and when I was purchased, I thought I was going to my forever home. Well, that did not happen! My person brought me to Harlequin Haven one evening after I got into a fight with another female dog at our home. I lived with many dogs, none altered and well one thing led to another, and we got into a fight. My parents said that I had to go and could not come back so my person brought me here! He and I both cried as he left. I was terrified as I thought I was going to be beaten or shot or something bad because of the stupid fight. Instead, Grandma (the caretaker at the rescue) made me a soft bed, gave me tons of toys, gave me food and treats and treated my wounds. I have been told just to rest and let my wounds heal and in time I will get to look for my real forever home. Update 8/4: Well I kinda lost track of time. My wounds have healed and I have been spayed and now I am ready to start looking for a forever home. I love people and I love being loved on and I love playing and I love giving kisses well if you haven't figured it out yet I love life!! So who wants to adopt a loving, playful beautiful Great Dane? If you are interested in adopting one of our dogs, you will need to follow the adoption procedures on our website. https://hhdane.com The procedures are on the right-hand menu. https://hhdane.com/hhdane/procedure.htm I have also pasted them below for your convenience. Thank you for your interest in our dogs. ------------------------------------------------------------------ Our adoption area is Ohio and Extreme Northern Kentucky (Boone, Kenton, and Campbell counties). We do not adopt to any other areas. For exact area go to FAQ. All of our rescue dogs are spayed and neutered prior to adoption. All shots including lyme and rabies are given. They have been wormed, checked for heartworm, lyme disease & ehrlichia, and placed on heartworm preventative. All dogs are kept for a minimum of one month for temperament evaluation and to be house trained. Registration papers are returned to the AKC as per their request and there are no exceptions. We require a fenced yard, fence must be at least 4 feet tall (48 inches) and must attach or surround with direct access to the building where the dog will be housed, NO Exceptions. Invisible and electric fences do NOT meet the requirements of a fenced yard. A yard of adequate size, to be determined on an individual basis. All pets in the home must be altered and current on vaccinations prior to applying to adopt. Adopter must be at least 21 years of age at time of application. In some rare cases apartments and condos may be acceptable if they have direct access to a fenced area for the dog to relieve themselves. Story
I have spent the majority of my life in rescue. I started out as a puppy in a California rescue "One Dane At A Time" and when my foster home moved to Ohio she brought me with her. Finally after 3 years in rescue I was adopted but that only lasted a year and well, I am again looking for a forever home. At first I thought I would be making the trip back to California but my new Grandma here in Ohio said I could stay here and find my forever home!! Update 7/3: Great News!! I will definitely be celebrating the Fourth of July because I am NOW ready for adoption!! I am a very loving girl and I do love my toys but I am a good girl I do not tear them up although at times they get a tiny rip when I am playing with it but I never shred them!! I love other dogs and cats as well!! Actually I can best be described as I just love life!!
