Name:  Lucy Age: 2 years Weight: 95 lbs Adoption Fee: $350.00 Good with Dogs?  Yes, but she can be a little pushy so a mellow dog would be okay   Good with cats?  Yes   Good with kids?  Yes, but due to her size she needs a home with kids who are at least 5 years old and used to being around dogs    Lucy was surrendered to a shelter when her owners were no longer able to care for her   She was very thin and had a serious case of happy tail (tail damaged from hitting it on things and it wouldn’t heal).   She is now a healthy weight, has a nub tail and we did a Gastropexy (stomach tacking) when she was spayed).  We were told she has a chicken allergy so she’s been eating lamb and rice food, with no issues.     She has no idea how big she so her goal in life is to be a lap dog.   Lucy is sweet and loves being the center of attention.     Don’t wait!  Get your application in now for this amazing dog.  Lucy is spayed, vaccinated, heartworm tested, micro chipped and had gastropexy surgery.   Her adoption fee is $350.00.     Adoption Process: Step 1:     Complete a "no obligation" application located on our website at pawprintsnky.com under the applications tab. Step 2:     PawPrints will review the application, verifying Vet and personal references as well as landlord requirements/restrictions (if applicable) Step 3:     IF your application is approved, we will call you to schedule a meet and greet for you to meet the pet. &#226&#128&#139Step 4:    If the meet and greet goes well, we will schedule the home visit.          June 18, 2024, 2:59 pm

Story
Meet Thanos. He is large and in charge at just 3 years old, this Great Dane is ready to go home! He knows how to sit and seems to know lay down, but will need consistent and on going training and enrichment to keep him being the best boy he can be. Thanos cannot be in a home with small dogs. He has lived and done well with big dogs his size. Thanos has been around children and has done well. If you have another dog or children at home, we recommend a meet and greet to see how they do. Thanos is a very strong boy and a strong puller. He does best with a harness when on walks but will still pull hard. Thanos is a high energy boy who loves to run and play. He is also very sweet and loves pets and snuggles. If you would like to meet Thanos, please stop by SPCA Cincinnati to visit him and all our other adoptable pets.

Story
When my owners no longer wanted me they took me, to SPCA Cincinnati and tied me to their gate and left me! The next morning when the shelter workers showed up, they contacted Cincinnati Animal Care so I could serve my stray time. When my stray time was up the shelter contacted Harlequin Haven Great Dane Rescue to come for me. Within hours I was here at the rescue. Update 10/24: Well I got neutered today and NOW Grandma says I need to work on my manners before I can find my forever home. Hummmm I guess that means I need to be better with everyone not just her. Update 11/02: I am NOW ready for adoption!! I am still working on my manners, but I am getting better every day. Update 5/4/24: Well as you know I was adopted out in September 2023 and unfortunately it did not work out. I was so excited to have a family of my very own I went into protective mode and that made my adopters nervous. We tried to make it work but we decided they were not the right family for me. Update 6/11/24: I am now ready to try being adopted again. Grandma and I have taken lots of trips to the Vets office, feed stores etc. and I am no longer getting overly excited when I see strangers. Although I still do LOVE to meet people now I have learned I must have manners if I want them to pay attention to me. __________________________ If you are interested in adopting one of our dogs, you will need to follow the adoption procedures on our website. (www.hhdane.org) The procedures are on the right-hand menu. http://www.hhdane.org/hhdane/procedure.htm I have also pasted them below for your convenience. Thank you for your interest in our dogs. We require a fenced yard, fence must be at least 4 feet tall (48 inches) and must attach or surround with direct access to the building where the dog will be housed, NO Exceptions. Invisible and electric fences do NOT meet the requirements of a fenced yard. A yard of adequate size, to be determined on an individual basis. All pets in the home must be altered and current on vaccinations prior to applying to adopt. Adopter must be at least 21 years of age at time of application.
