Story
Meet Tarmac!Hi, I’m Tarmac, a three-year-old Great Dane mix with a big heart and an even bigger love for treats! I’m a smart pup who already knows my basic commands, and I’m always eager to learn more—especially if snacks are involved. I aim to please and love having a job to do, whether it’s showing off my manners, going for a stroll, or just being your loyal companion.Despite my size, I’m a gentle giant who just wants to make my people happy. I’d love a home where I can keep learning, get lots of belly rubs, and, of course, enjoy plenty of tasty rewards for a job well done. I am also great with kids and home and crate trained. If you’re looking for a well-mannered, treat-motivated best friend, I might just be the perfect match for you!To set up a meet and greet or inquire about a dog, please first fill out an application at https://savinghoperescue.org/adopt. It doesn`t obligate you, but it is the first step. We don`t get to all of the inquires but respond to all applications. Thank you for choosing to rescue!

Story
Location: Arlington, TX DOB: 5/23/25 (Estimate) My name is Megatron! My human foster brother thinks it’s hilarious that he named me after an evil transformer but the joke is on him! I’m not evil but I’m definitely transforming into your new best friend!! I’m almost one year old, I think! And so does my dog doctor friend, Dr. C! Me and my brother found ourselves in doggy jail and my foster mom came and got us out of there fast! I am deaf and mostly blind but it doesn’t slow me down a bit! I love to play with my foster dog brother and sisters and have already learned to respect their boundaries and share toys. I love to snuggle and I’m always close by for pets and cuddles. I am mostly house trained but still have accidents now and then if I don’t get outside fast enough, but I’m still learning! I don’t like a kennel AT ALL but you can trust me to free roam because I mostly sleep when left at home. The big dogs have taught me that! I am a huge fan of remotes!! So they should stay out of my reach 🙂 Rocks are great too, so I shouldn’t be outside unattended. My furever family should probably have experience with deaf/blind Danes because my foster mom says I’m special 🤍 Patience will be the key to us being BFFs! Story
529 days without a forever home. 529 days ago Razoo came into the shelter as a stray and he’s been looking for his place in this world ever since. He survived the streets. He survived the euthanasia list. He survived heartworm treatment. He’s learned what it’s like to live inside a home and that there are good humans out there who won’t hurt him. Now he just needs HIS human to find him🖤. ————————————————————— Razoo is 3 years old, 80 pounds, neutered, fully-vaccinated, microchipped, house-trained, crate-trained, and been treated for heartworms. He has done well with the other dogs in his foster home and loves his person (he will show you how much he loves you by wrapping his long arms around your entire body). When he came into the shelter he was terrified of being leashed. His foster has been dedicated to his training and desensitizing him to collars, leashes, etc. He has made leaps and bounds in his progress and he happily wore a bow tie for his photo shoot and gladly accepted head scratches from the photographer. He is adored by his foster and by everyone who meets him. He’s the epitome of rescue rehabilitation and deserves his happy ending! Please share to help Razoo find his forever home! Story
Watson is a full bred AKC registered Great Dane. He is nearly three, his welp date is 1-11-21. Watson has been raised with 4 children, a cat and a bearded dragon. He is not bad with children; he just isn't ideal with younger children. He is a very very anxious dog. He has been known to break out of multiple kennels. He often jumps our 8 foot fence. He will, during a thunderstorm, attempt to squeeze himself under our bed. He has been treated for his anxiety with trazadone, this did not work. We tried Acepromazine as well- he was allergic-his whole face swelled up; when given Benadryl he became destructive and more anxious. We have tried puzzles, CBD oil and treats, more activity etc. He is very difficult to redirect when outside; he doesn't follow any command unless he is inside. We have had many incidents of him pulling kids off of swings, four wheelers, tree house ladders etc. It never appears he is being aggressive but almost like he thinks he is saving them. He needs a calm place.

Story
Hi, I’m Moon. They say I’m a 2-year-old Anatolian Shepherd mix, but honestly, I feel much older than that. Life hasn’t exactly been gentle with me. For as long as I can remember, it’s just been me, Bennett – my baby’s dad – and the endless streets. I gave birth to my little one, Alex, all alone out there. We didn’t have a safe place to rest or warm hands to care for us. It was just me, trying my best to keep us alive and safe. The kind folks at Second Chance Dog Rescue found me after someone saw me and Bennett roaming around. A partner of theirs trapped me and brought me to safety, but it’s hard to let go of the fear and hurt. The past has left its mark, and every human hand feels like a question: Will they hurt me, too? I’m trying, though. The volunteers here are patient, letting me come to them on my own terms. I want to trust them, but my heart needs time. I’m a good mom, a gentle soul, and, despite my past, I know deep down I still have love to give. I like being able to see Bennett here; it’s a small comfort. I even enjoy the company of other dogs, as long as they respect my space and understand that trust doesn’t come easy for me. Every day, I’m learning that maybe – just maybe – there’s a future out there with a kind family who won’t let me down. Until then, I’m holding on, one soft touch and gentle word at a time. Thank you for following my journey. I may have been let down before, but I’m hopeful my second chance is just around the corner. Ready to meet me? Fill out the adoption form or foster form below and the nice volunteers will be in touch soon. ? Adopt: https://forms.gle/wGHovEBpHfhZJcgQA ? Foster: https://forms.gle/mWzGJcvMuRyGDtsx6 Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, up-to-date on vaccines, deworming, heartworm tested, a supply of heartworm preventative, and microchip. If you would like to set up a meet & greet with this cutie, please fill out an interest-to-adopt form at www.scdrm.com, and we’ll be in touch!
