You’re looking for love and all the wrong places if you’re not coming to the Mesquite Animal Shelter. Griffin is a prime example of a very loving boy that chooses closeness and is generous with kisses! Besides that he’s handsome and very distinguished looking! Griffin is a 10 month old 57 pound mixed breed (Catahoula Leopard Dog/Great Dane) that came to Mesquite Animal Shelter on 9/21. He’s gray, black and dark brown. He is also too thin. He’s alert and energetic but knows how to settle down. He’s very sweet. He’s tailwagging happy. He’s friendly, easy-going, and very attentive. When you sit down, he’ll come to you and either put his head on your lap or give you kisses. He had a slight pull on the leash. He did do his business immediately when he got out into the yard. He likes to investigate so a yard or outside activity would be advised. But he also likes the comforts of home and cuddling!

She is also a proven farm girl, having done remarkably well around goats and yardbirds! On walks, Jif is a dream and handles the leash like a pro. She is smart and knows her basic cues like "sit" and "down"—though she prefers to execute them on her own schedule! Jif gets along with other dogs but possesses a confident, spunky personality; she expects mutual respect and won't tolerate being bullied by bossy pups. Jif has a naturally curious mind and a habit of wanting to "taste" everything while exploring her world. Location: Terrell, TX (adoptable within 3 hours of Dallas/Fort Worth) DOB: 3/15/2025 Reacher is a 1½-year-old Great Dane who is basically 100 pounds of puppy brain, zoomies, play bows, and LOVE. 😂❤️ This boy is the ultimate social butterfly. He LOVES other dogs and meeting new people. His goofy play bows can get just about anybody playing, and he’s always down for tug, fetch, wrestling, zoomies, or whatever new toy you hand him. He’s also a total Velcro Dane lover boy. Reacher loves to lean, put his head over your shoulder for hugs, check in for pets, and—if you allow it—climb right into your lap. 😂 He loves being with his people but can also happily entertain himself with toys. And he’s SMART! ✔️ Potty trained ✔️ Kennel trained ✔️ Sit ✔️ Down ✔️ Shake ✔️ Come ✔️ Leave it ✔️ Wait ✔️ VERY food motivated Does he listen every single time? About 85%. We blame the other 15% on puppy brain. 🤣 Reacher is still working on some young-Dane manners. He gets VERY excited and may jump up—or occasionally give you his signature Great Dane chest punch. 😬😂 He’ll counter surf if given the opportunity, and we’re still improving leash manners, door darting, jumping, and learning exactly what is appropriate to chew. He needs a family who understands that at 1½ years old, there is still plenty of puppy inside that giant body. Around the house, she`ll happily stay by your side, whether you`re working, relaxing, or just moving from room to room. She also loves spending time outdoors, exploring our four-acre property and taking every opportunity to swim in the pond—one of her absolute favorite activities!Ruthie gets along wonderfully with our 90-pound Lab mix and would likely enjoy having another friendly, confident dog in the home.
