Little Man is your typical fun and silly velcro Dane. He is just over a year old and has grown up around cats and small dogs. He is extremely playful and loves to carry around stuffed toys. He will sit for a treat and he expects to have spot next to you on the couch or bed. He is potty trained and uses a dog door. I adore this dog! Unfortunately, my job has changed and I am not only working extremely long hours for the foreseeable future but I am moving into an apartment that does not allow dogs over 50 lbs. Little Man deserves so much affection and play time. He is a great dog! Only apply if you want lots of unconditional love and doggy snuggles!

Story

Jackson, our Great Dane, was rescued by a friend in east Texas. He is probably about 5-6 years old. He is the most loving dog I've ever had besides my other Great Dane, who passed many years ago. Jackson loves humans of all ages, kids, adults, any gender, just everyone and gently. He does his job barking at strangers outside serving notice, but if they are invited in he loves them as family. He has such a human way of communicating: prolonged eye contact, talking, and generally sensitive to moods and affection. I am really sad about finding him another home but he has had 3 serious fights, in the last 2-3 years with my adult male German Shepherd. It's too complicated to keep the 2 separated and lonely for him. He is not good with cats. Ideally, he would be best as an only dog, but he gets along with great with our female pug/chihuahua. He plays chase and tug of war with her. (is that because she is small and female?) I hope to find a home that loves Jackson as much as we do.

From Celine: Some of my favorite things: Car rides - I like to ride with my head out the window and let the breeze blow through my hair. Food - I’m a foodie! I like all kinds of food, I’m not picky. I’ll even enjoy apple chunks and banana slices. Added bonus: I catch treats in the air. I’m used to being in the house, all the house sounds, and I’m totally housebroken. I’m good with being in the yard, getting my business done, then coming back in to be with you. I walk well on leash, except if I see a rabbit. Then it’s chase time. I don’t understand fetching a ball, but I’ll bounce alongside a dog buddy who does. I saw a cat on my walk, I stared at it, it stared at me, then we moved on. Since I am a foodie, I don’t like sharing mine with any other animals and prefer to eat alone. I like people but I get so excited I bark. That can be scary for those who don’t know me. I’m all talk. Harley is a 6yr old male Anatolian Shepherd mix that weighs 97 pounds. He is a gentle giant. He was found as a stray on 6/30, yet he was previously adopted from the Mesquite Animal Shelter. His prior adopters have not come to reclaim him, so this gentle soul has found himself looking for hopefully his final loving family. He has lots of love and affection to give. He is a big cuddle bug too. Taking him out of his kennel he walked right next to me and didn’t pull. He knows the sit command, takes treats gently and appears to be housetrained.
