Adopt Athena! This beautiful puppy is a great Pyrenees/Anatolian Shepherd mix. She was a litter of 12 and we are able to help eight of them. 4 were given away by the owners. The owners had several dogs who were not fixed and had an accidental litter. Athena is a very sweet dog who loves to play and will be a bigger dog as she grows. She’s going to be a loyal companion and has been around farm animals/dogs. She was great with kids and a very great temperament. Skylar is a handsome, easygoing boy with a mellowish, goofy, puppyish personality. He gets along great with everyone and has had cat friends in foster care. He is cuddly, happy and ready to do everything, or not do anything but snuggle or lay in the sun. He currently weighs under 55 pounds… we think he will top out around 62-65#. Skylar will be a wonderful addition to many different types of homes. This well-mannered pup is both potty trained (might need a little reminding after time at the Sanctuary) and he is crate trained, making the transition into his new family even easier. DD is an absolute sweetheart. She’s so calm and gentle, with a quiet, loving personality that makes her comfortable to be around and easy to love. DD is social in a casual way, people always comment on how sweet and soft she is. DD loves to be pet, it may be her favorite activity! Petting is a quick path to her friendship, and soon she’ll be leaning gently against your thigh or resting her chin in your lap. Her foster family affectionately call her Perfect Petting Height - no need to bend over! DD is wonderfully calm & largely unruffled. She’s patient with kids and would be an easygoing family dog, though older children or those used to dogs would probably be best because of her large size. She’s content to be hugged and kissed, happy to snuggle, and will even sleep through brushing! DD loves other dogs and hopes that every dog she meets will become her friend. Playing with dogs is her other favorite activity. She would love a dog sibling or frequent opportunities to run around with other dogs. DD has fun playing by herself too - bounding around the yard and pouncing on her toys. She’s very fond of her toys and often walks around carrying one gently in her mouth. (So cute!) DD seems to catch on quickly and understand household routines. She is motivated by both affection and treats, and she enjoys training games. She is potty trained, crate trained, knows ‘sit’, and usually comes when called. DD loves being outdoors and getting out to explore. She enjoys rolling in the grass, lounging in the sun and loping around the yard. She would thrive in a home with a large yard where she can stretch out and enjoy the fresh air at her own pace. She’d be a great fit for country living. She walks calmly on a loose leash, with only an occasional tug when she wants to say hi to another dog. She has quite a nose and truly enjoys taking her time to sniff. She’s friendly to everyone she meets & unconcerned by neighborhood noise and bustle. DD’s respectfully interested in other animals and will quietly stand at attention to watch a squirrel, deer, or flock of geese pass by. DD’s mellow personality makes her easy to live with. She settles down quickly and likes to lounge nearby or keep watch from the screen door. She’s still learning household manners, including kitchen etiquette and the difference between dog toys and objects that look like dog toys. She’s practicing her car rides and doing well. With continued guidance, we’re confident she’ll master perfect household manners. DD is a wonderful dog with a soft heart & kind spirit.
