Story
Mac Daddy is 1.5 years old. He is a very loyal and protective dog. He loves playing fetch, tug of war, and snack puzzles. He is very intelligent and loves training. Very food motivated when it comes to training. He plays well with our kids and cat. He knows many commands and is also trained with a wireless boundary fence. He is great at guarding the property. I will not just tell the good without the bad though. He can be a little to protective. He nipped a delivery driver in the leg months ago and will bark and get aggressive if anyone or anything comes into his territory that he thinks does not belong. He can also be very anxious if crated or left alone indoors for too long. He deserves a family that will give him the attention that he needs. If he gets daily playtime and mental stimulation he is not nearly as anxious. The only reason we are rehoming him is because our daughter has adhd and between her impulsive behavior and his anxiety, we don’t want something horrible to happen.

Story
When HART first rescued Newton, this gorgeous boy was very shy. Since being in a loving foster home, he has shown significant improvement! He is less shy when meeting new people, and after proper introduction, he seeks out chin scratches and belly rubs. Newton has enjoyed running in the backyard, chasing a ball, and he will certainly need a secure, fenced yard to safely explore and get his zoomies. Newton is house trained, sleeps well at night in his kennel, does not have separation anxiety, occasionally barks but settles down, takes treats gently, and knows basic commands to include 'sit', 'stay', 'wait' and knows to wait for 'yes' and 'OK' before proceeding. He walks well on a leash particularly in the neighborhood and on trails but needs additional training to prevent occasional pulling. He sheds his gorgeous coat once a year and fortunately loves to be brushed with a wire brush to keep it under control. He gets along well with other dogs after a proper introduction and would benefit from having another confident dog in the home. Newton is not at all aggressive and responds to scary or new situations by backing away so he can get comfortable on his own terms. As he continues to overcome his shyness, he has shown that he is eager to explore, have new experiences, and meet new people. Newton is looking for a family that will continue with his training and socialization to ensure he will reach his potential. Inquire about meeting Newton because it will be love at first sight! Thank you for your interest in Newton! Please visit www.hart90.org/petdetail.aspx?ID=16868 to get the most up-to-date and accurate information on this pet, to email the contact person listed for more information and how to meet Newton, or to submit an online application. Story
Introducing Salt, a charming 2-year-old Great Pyrenees and Lab mix who perfectly blends the lovable traits of both breeds. Weighing in as a big, sweet boy, he embodies the essence of a gentle giant. Salt’s calm and affectionate demeanor makes him not only a wonderful companion but also a source of comfort and joy for anyone lucky enough to share their life with him. Salt is incredibly sociable and does exceptionally well with children, making him a fantastic family pet. His patience and gentle nature mean he can handle the exuberance of young ones with grace. Additionally, he has a friendly disposition towards other animals; he gets along beautifully with both cats and dogs. This adaptability makes him an ideal candidate for a multi-pet household. One of Salt's standout qualities is his intelligence. He has already mastered house training, showcasing his eagerness to learn and please. This makes him an easier pet to manage, as he is well aware of household rules and routines. His playful spirit is complemented by a calm demeanor, making him equally happy to play fetch in the yard or snuggle up on the couch for a cozy movie night. Story
Meet Layla, the reigning queen of relaxation! This sweet 60 pound, Aussie/Great Pry mix pretty girl loves to take it easy, whether it's lounging on the couch, basking in the sun, or snoozing her day away in her favorite spot.  At 6 years of age, Layla has made is known that she prefers a calm, peaceful environment where she can indulge in her love of napping without too much excitement.  She’ll happily keep you company during your quiet moments, and will always be up for a long walk or playtime with feline friends who are her favorite four-legged friends. Layla would do best in a home without young children or other dogs, as she loves her space and enjoys a slower, more serene pace of life. If you're seeking a loyal, affectionate companion who values comfort above all else, Layla is your perfect match.   This beauty is housebroken and loves to run around the yard with her people.  Years ago Layla decided that she wanted to be the only dog in her home and that is how she has lived and what we are seeking for her again.  She has been living as the only companion in the home until 3 years ago when the family started having children.  Now the young toddlers are having their normal growing up noises and activities create a less than calm environment for Layla.  Her family knows it will be best for Layla to find a new and quieter home without the toddler chaos.  Critter Cavalry Rescue knows that many dogs do not transition well with toddlers that enter the home after they were the only dogs early in life.  Layla is so loved and because of that her owners are admitting that she needs a new start that suits her laidback demeanor. Children over 10 years will be fine. This dog is good on leash walks but doesn’t need to be at dog parks where other dogs will not respect her “space”.  She is crate trained but honestly she does no damage if left loose during the day for many hours.  Layla does love cats and is a very loving girl that is beautiful and very smart.  She has so many years left to bring joy and companionship to someone that just wants her as the only dog and will treasure her as the special girl that she truly is. If you are interested in this girl please write to ccrtennessee@gmail.com She is ready for a new and fresh start.       PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comJanuary 10, 2025, 10:20 pm
