ESTIMATE WEIGHT FULL GROWN: lbs
ESTIMATED AGE:
KNOWN WITH DOGS: She doesn’t mind the company of another dog on walks or during short interactions, but needs space and slow introductions as she is still learning to trust. She will likely do best with dog siblings who understand her boundaries and have a similar medium-low energy level. She does not want other dogs near her food or crate, and will let them know that it is her territory, so some separation and space from other dogs in the home, at least for initial introductions, and definitely during meals, is necessary
KNOWN WITH CATS: She has been incredible with the rabbits in her foster home, and has shown no prey drive or interest in them, so she may be a good fit for a home with cats
KNOWN WITH KIDS: She has also been good with young children she’s met outside of her foster home
KNOWN COMMANDS:
KNOWN HOUSEBREAKING AND/OR CRATING: She is independent and will go to her crate or bed for a nap or rest when she needs it
KNOWN LIKES: Margot enjoys the slow, cozy, relaxed life, and hopes her forever family does too.
KNOWN DISLIKES: Sharing her food, hyper energetic dogs who are in her face
Notes from the foster:
Meet Margot (aka Mingo), the lovable, huggable Great Pyrenees! Her name means “pearl” because we think she is a precious treasure. She is a low energy dog who enjoys smelling flowers on walks, lounging and napping on soft surfaces and cushions, getting pets from her humans, and looking out the window on car rides. She is independent and will go to her crate or bed for a nap or rest when she needs it, and will come out when she has the energy to ask for pets, give you a gentle ‘pyr paw’, and cuddle on the couch. She is a loose-leash queen who will happily walk by your side wherever you take her. She doesn’t mind the company of another dog on walks or during short interactions, but needs space and slow introductions as she is still learning to trust. She will likely do best with dog siblings who understand her boundaries and have a similar medium-low energy level. She does not want other dogs near her food or crate, and will let them know that it is her territory, so some separation and space from other dogs in the home, at least for initial introductions, and definitely during meals, is necessary. She has been incredible with the rabbits in her foster home, and has shown no prey drive or interest in them, so she may be a good fit for a home with cats. She has also been good with young children she’s met outside of her foster home. She is currently working on gaining weight, and has shown a love for beef jerky, cheese, and fish-based treats. Overall, Margot enjoys the slow, cozy, relaxed life, and hopes her forever family does too.
