Story
Meet Sullivan! This 6-month-old Great Pyrenees mix is an adventurous, affectionate, and incredibly smart pup looking for his perfect forever home. He's great with kids, loves playing with other dogs, and thrives on cuddles. He enjoys car rides, splashing in the water, and exploring the outdoors. He walks beautifully on a leash, never pulls, and follows commands like sit, stay, and wait. Sullivan also has the cutest playful side, he absolutely loves his red ball toy! He plays with it all on his own, happily chasing it around. While he's still learning how to retrieve, he's always eager to play and have fun. If you love hiking, running, or simply want a fun-loving pup who will be by your side through every adventure, Sullivan is ready to meet you! Thank you for your interest in Sullivan A! Story
When HART first rescued Newton, this gorgeous boy was very shy. Since being in a loving foster home, he has shown significant improvement! He is less shy when meeting new people, and after proper introduction, he seeks out chin scratches and belly rubs. Newton has enjoyed running in the backyard, chasing a ball, and he will certainly need a secure, fenced yard to safely explore and get his zoomies. Newton is house trained, sleeps well at night in his kennel, does not have separation anxiety, occasionally barks but settles down, takes treats gently, and knows basic commands to include 'sit', 'stay', 'wait' and knows to wait for 'yes' and 'OK' before proceeding. He walks well on a leash particularly in the neighborhood and on trails but needs additional training to prevent occasional pulling. He sheds his gorgeous coat once a year and fortunately loves to be brushed with a wire brush to keep it under control. He gets along well with other dogs after a proper introduction and would benefit from having another confident dog in the home. Newton is not at all aggressive and responds to scary or new situations by backing away so he can get comfortable on his own terms. As he continues to overcome his shyness, he has shown that he is eager to explore, have new experiences, and meet new people. Newton is looking for a family that will continue with his training and socialization to ensure he will reach his potential. Inquire about meeting Newton because it will be love at first sight! Story
ESTIMATE WEIGHT FULL GROWN: lbs ESTIMATED AGE: KNOWN WITH DOGS: She doesn’t mind the company of another dog on walks or during short interactions, but needs space and slow introductions as she is still learning to trust. She will likely do best with dog siblings who understand her boundaries and have a similar medium-low energy level. She does not want other dogs near her food or crate, and will let them know that it is her territory, so some separation and space from other dogs in the home, at least for initial introductions, and definitely during meals, is necessary KNOWN WITH CATS: She has been incredible with the rabbits in her foster home, and has shown no prey drive or interest in them, so she may be a good fit for a home with cats KNOWN WITH KIDS: She has also been good with young children she’s met outside of her foster home KNOWN COMMANDS: KNOWN HOUSEBREAKING AND/OR CRATING: She is independent and will go to her crate or bed for a nap or rest when she needs it KNOWN LIKES: Margot enjoys the slow, cozy, relaxed life, and hopes her forever family does too. KNOWN DISLIKES: Sharing her food, hyper energetic dogs who are in her face Notes from the foster: Meet Margot (aka Mingo), the lovable, huggable Great Pyrenees! Her name means “pearl” because we think she is a precious treasure. She is a low energy dog who enjoys smelling flowers on walks, lounging and napping on soft surfaces and cushions, getting pets from her humans, and looking out the window on car rides. She is independent and will go to her crate or bed for a nap or rest when she needs it, and will come out when she has the energy to ask for pets, give you a gentle ‘pyr paw’, and cuddle on the couch. She is a loose-leash queen who will happily walk by your side wherever you take her. She doesn’t mind the company of another dog on walks or during short interactions, but needs space and slow introductions as she is still learning to trust. She will likely do best with dog siblings who understand her boundaries and have a similar medium-low energy level. She has been incredible with the rabbits in her foster home, and has shown no prey drive or interest in them, so she may be a good fit for a home with cats. She has also been good with young children she’s met outside of her foster home. She is currently working on gaining weight, and has shown a love for beef jerky, cheese, and fish-based treats. Overall, Margot enjoys the slow, cozy, relaxed life, and hopes her forever family does too. Story
Meet Meredith! Meredith is a very happy and affectionate 10 month old Great Pyrenees/ Anatolia mixed female who weighs about 50 pounds.  She is very sweet with all people (small children included), other dogs, and cats. She is house trained and crate trained but will need a home that can work on house manners, as she is a dedicated counter surfer and will chew up accessible items that may not belong to her. She is leash trained and loves to go for walks around the neighborhood, but can be a bit dog reactive. She should not be trusted off leash without proper training until she gains confidence and trust in her humans.  She likes to play with rope toys, catch a ball and chew on bones when she can. This pretty girl is gentle with her people and gets along with other dogs. She goes to doggie daycare and a farm boarding situation and is very friendly off leash. Meredith is great in the car and loves to look around while driving. She is a velcro type dog and wants to constantly be with her people. She can get startled easily and is submissive in a lot of her interactions. Although sweet with them, she should not be placed in a home with small children, as she is large and not always mindful of where her body is. She would do best in an active household without a lot of alone time and with folks who can dedicate time to her house training. She is UTD on all vaccines, heartworm/flea meds and is spayed. She is such a good dog and will be a great addition to your family as an only dog or as a best mate to her new dog siblings. Adoption Fee: $525. Included in adoption: All shots, sterilized, Heartworm Negative, Microchip Dewormed, Flea Preventative     If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application and a representative will get back to you shortly to answer any questions you may have.
