Story
Monologue (Atlas) is a smart, affectionate, and playful 1-year-old pup. (OK, let's be serious...he's a TOTAL MUSH!!!) He is SO sweet and loves (LOVES!!) to snuggle.  His DNA results show he is a unique mix of Great Pyrenees, Catahoula Leopard Dog, and Labrador Retriever. He’s athletic, expressive (read vocal!), and full of personality—and he absolutely adores all humans. He is potty trained and crate trained. He will happily go into his crate with a treat and sleeps through the night. Because he’s a talented jumper/climber and curious about putting things in his mouth, a secure crate is important when no one is home. He is leash trained, loves walks, and being outside (he would thrive with a fenced-in yard).  Monologue enjoys wrestling and energetic play with dogs that match his energy—especially smaller or more submissive dogs. He is loving his foster family's resident dog but would do best in a home with NO cats. He does best with clear boundaries around resources: Needs to be fed separately from other dogs (he resource guards food) Shares water bowls just fine Loves toys and may try to take another dog’s toy (keep-away is one of his favorite games) Can be selective with dogs, particularly larger males Ideal Home  --  Monologue would thrive in: A home without small children (he’s a big boy and quite strong and playful,). Our 10 year old is fine with his strength. An active adopter who can provide multiple walks or play sessions daily or that has a good-sized yard.  A household that values structure, enrichment, and consistency Why You’ll Love Him Very people-oriented and affectionate Smart, athletic, and engaging Fully potty and crate trained Sleeps through the night Big personality with lots of love to give Monologue is looking for a home that understands young, energetic working-breed mixes and is ready to give him the structure and outlets he needs. In return, he’ll be a loyal, fun-loving companion who brings energy and affection into your life. Adoption Day: February 14th at PetSmart Tysons Corner from 10:00–11:00 AM, an approved adopter must be present to adopt. Some pups may stick around until 11:00 AM for the public event—check our Facebook page closer to the date to see if this pup will be attending the extra fun!  ##2305551##

Story
Meet Alena! 🐾😍 This 1-year-old Great Pyrenees/Husky mix is as stunning as she is sweet. With her soft, fluffy coat, striking gray mask, and feathery tail, Alena is a true beauty. Her gentle brown eyes radiate warmth, and her big, happy smile makes her impossible not to love. She’s the kind of dog who will turn heads on walks and melt hearts at home. Alena isn’t just beautiful—she’s incredibly gentle and affectionate, too. She adores people and gets along wonderfully with kids, cats, and other dogs. She loves being part of the action, whether that’s playing in the yard or lounging at your feet. Because she forms such strong bonds with her people, Alena does best in a home where someone is around most of the day. A work-from-home household, retired adopter, or family with a stay-at-home parent would be an ideal fit for her so she can feel secure and happy. She’s crate trained, housebroken, and has the perfect balance of playful puppy energy and calm, snuggly downtime. Alena is spayed, fully vaccinated, and ready to bring her beauty, sweetness, and loyal companionship into her forever home. Whoever welcomes this gorgeous girl will be gaining a best friend for life. ❤️ RPACI is a non profit rescue, and currently possess our 501C3 to operate as such. Story
When HART first rescued Newton, this gorgeous boy was very shy. Since being in a loving foster home, he has shown significant improvement! He is less shy when meeting new people, and after proper introduction, he seeks out chin scratches and belly rubs. Newton has enjoyed running in the backyard, chasing a ball, and he will certainly need a secure, fenced yard to safely explore and get his zoomies. Newton is house trained, sleeps well at night in his kennel, does not have separation anxiety, occasionally barks but settles down, takes treats gently, and knows basic commands to include "sit", "stay", "wait" and knows to wait for "yes" and "OK" before proceeding. He walks well on a leash particularly in the neighborhood and on trails but needs additional training to prevent occasional pulling. He sheds his gorgeous coat once a year and fortunately loves to be brushed with a wire brush to keep it under control. He gets along well with other dogs after a proper introduction and would benefit from having another confident dog in the home. Newton is not at all aggressive and responds to scary or new situations by backing away so he can get comfortable on his own terms. As he continues to overcome his shyness, he has shown that he is eager to explore, have new experiences, and meet new people. Newton is looking for a family that will continue with his training and socialization to ensure he will reach his potential. Inquire about meeting Newton because it will be love at first sight!
