Story
Current Location: Alexandria, Va Meet Nala – The Sweetheart with Sass, Smarts, and a Whole Lot of Chill Looking for a best friend who’s equal parts cuddle bug, porch guardian, and goofball philosopher? Meet Nala, a gentle, silly, and wonderfully curious girl who just wants a home to call her own. Personality Nala is all heart. She’s sweet as can be, loves to cuddle, and greets each day with a wag, a smile, and sometimes a bark at the delivery guy (just doing her job, thank you). She’s a laid-back gal who enjoys just being part of the world around her. She’s content with a few short walks or a little playtime but is mostly happy to snooze, explore, and lounge like the queen she is. She’s independent but will absolutely seek out affection when she wants it - then you’re the lucky one. Companionship Nala is a social butterfly with excellent manners: - Dog-friendly - Kid-friendly – she met neighborhood kids and handled their excitement with calm grace - People-friendly – loves being included, calm with new faces - Cats – not yet tested, but she’s shown easy-going behavior around others Training & Manners This girl knows her stuff: - Housebroken - Crate trained - Leash trained - Knows basic commands like “sit,” “lay down,” “stay” (ish), “potty,” “food,” and “go” - Responds beautifully to correction—just a simple, “Nala, no” usually does the trick - ot super food- or praise-motivated, but she’s learning and making progress Nala thrives in a calm, loving home that follows a steady routine. She’s currently living with two adults and another dog and fits in seamlessly. She’d do well in a variety of homes - from a relaxed family setting to a chill solo human with a love for walks and weekend lounging. Ideal Home A yard would be a dream, but daily walks will make her just as happy. She enjoys fresh air and being outside, where she can observe, sniff, and feel part of the world. Included Veterinary Care - Health certificate from a licensed veterinarian - Up to date on vaccinations - Spayed - Microchipped - Heartworm preventative - Flea and tick preventative - Deworming/parasite treatments Nala is the kind of dog who makes a house feel like home. She’s sweet, silly, calm, and incredibly easy to love. Could she be the missing piece in your family?

Story
ADOPT ME ONLINE: https://ophrescue.org/dogs/14364Name: CassieGender: FemaleBreed: Great Pyrenees MixAge: 3 years oldWeight: 70 lbsCurrent Location: Littlestown, PAPersonalityCassie is a majestic, cloud-like queen who graciously permits humans to exist in her presence. With a soft gaze and an expression of eternal mild disapproval, she’s equal parts regal and ridiculous. Nervous around sudden movements, she prefers calm courtiers who let her make the first move—like all royalty, she expects to be approached on her terms.Energy LevelSomewhere between “barely mobile” and “animated pillow.” Cassie is deeply committed to her lifestyle as a professional lounger. Exercise? Only if she feels like it. Which she doesn’t. She enjoys outdoor time 4–5 times a day—mostly as an opportunity to sit in the sun and maybe pee once if the spirit moves her.Skills and TrainingCassie has mastered the art of crate drama. She gave an Oscar-worthy performance her first night, but has since decided the crate is acceptable lodging for a lady of her stature. She’s mostly housebroken now, thanks to her reliable once-a-day bathroom schedule. No interest in toys—unless they are feather boas or tiaras (unconfirmed).CompanionshipCassie gets along fine with other dogs, but don’t expect her to actually do anything with them. She’s a solo lounger, not a playgroup participant. Her ideal home is quiet and laid-back, with people who understand that this beautiful, oversized marshmallow is decorative, not interactive.Love and AffectionCassie shows affection by simply existing in your vicinity, often while draped elegantly across furniture like the fluffy goddess she is. If you're looking for a companion who won't jump on you, chase toys, or go on hikes, but will 100% judge your snack choices from across the room—she's your girl.Included Veterinary Care:- Visit to veterinarian for health certificate- Up to date on vaccinations for her age- Spayed- Microchipped- Heartworm preventative- Flea and tick preventative- Worm/parasite treatmentsCassie is still working on her glow-up—she’s put on some weight since arriving but still needs to fill in. A home that values peace, beauty, and afternoon naps is exactly what she deserves. Ready to treat this diva like the royalty she is? Apply today and prepare to be ruled by fluff.

Story
Meet Bobo – the ultimate gentle giant! Bobo is a 1-year-old Great Pyrenees mix with a big heart. He just arrived at OPH on July 9th and is already melting hearts in his foster home! Bobo’s past wasn't easy—he was surrendered to a Virginia shelter after being attacked by other dogs and left without proper care. He arrived covered in ticks, with infected wounds, and in need of some TLC. But don’t worry—he’s healing beautifully and was shaved to help with his recovery. Despite everything he’s been through, Bobo is incredibly sweet and gentle. He gets along great with people, dogs, and even cats! He appears to be house- and crate-trained, and his favorite thing is curling up in your lap for a cuddle (yes, all 65 pounds of him!). Due to his rough past, some things like loud noises can still be a little scary. Bobo is trying his best to be brave, but he would thrive in a calm, patient home with someone who understands the needs of a dog who’s been through trauma. Bobo is a happy, resilient pup who’s ready for his second chance. If you’re looking for a loving, loyal companion, Bobo might just be your perfect match!

Story
Ankang is a truly special soul. We found him abandoned in a deserted building in China when he was just a year old. Since then, we’ve cared for him with all our hearts, nurturing him for over a year and a half while searching for a loving forever home. Despite our best efforts, finding a family for Ankang in China has been challenging due to his size—he’s a gentle giant at around 110 pounds. That’s why we’re now hoping to find him a forever home in the U.S., where he can finally settle down and be loved as he deserves. Ankang is incredibly friendly and calm. He spent over a year in professional training and has a sweet, well-mannered temperament. While he can be shy or anxious at times, with a little patience and love, he blossoms into a loyal and affectionate companion. Loving his home and his people is just part of who he is.
