Story
You will love Max to the MAX! He is a uniquely handsome and oh-so-soft soft boy! He loves people, his tail is always wagging upon approach, and he expects pets from everyone. He IS quite irresistable, so his fosters regularly indulge him! His foster calls him "a sweetie" who really loves belly rubs. Max is housebroken, and he knows basic commands, like, "sit" and "paw." The fosters are currently working on the "stay" and "down" commands. Max does listen when corrected, he knows his name, and he will come when called. Max is good on leash, and although he is large, he is easy to walk. He always excited to get out into the neighborhood to see the world around him. Max is still young, just over one-year old, so he is quite energetic, "not crazy, but enthusiastic," is how his foster describes his energy level. Max will need a fence at his new home as he is tall and he can jump quite high, so a six-foot-tall fence would be necessary.  Max is great with other dogs, enjoys a parallel run or a game of chase, and he reads social cues well. Max does well in the car, he jumps in readily, and loves to have the windows down so he can smell the fresh air. "A teenager" is how Max's foster describes him, meaning that he is still learning his boundaries, but is very steerable (and with a treat or two) will pick up commands and rules very quickly.  Right now, Max sleeps next to his foster's bed, with baby gates to keep him secure. He does not like the crate and is overcoming some separation anxiety. We don't know much about his history, so we trust that once he feels safe and secure, his anxiety will ease. Max will make a wonderful playmate and snuggle buddy, backyard ball-chaser, and loyal companion for his forever person! (Check out the videos below to see Max in action!) PAW adopts in the MD, DC, VA, and northern PA area only. ##2670840##

Story
Lance was born in Berwick PA to a breeder of Great Pyrenees, and we picked him up just when he hit 8 weeks back in October of 2010. He has been a great family dog, and he gets along great with other family dogs, friends/family, and especially kids. This breed is known for being one of the "gentle giants". When he isn't barking at squirrels in our back yard, he is actively trying to cuddle with someone in the house. Unfortunately, in 2025 my ex and I divorced, which caused his boy (my son) to move out and me to take on another job. Now, he spends almost the entire day and night alone, and he hates every minute of it. His ideal family would have several kids who love oversized stuffed animals to cuddle with, a fenced-in back yard, and a sense of humor. Mostly, he just needs someone (or several someones) who can commit to spending time with him.

She’s spent her early days snuggled up in a big, fluffy puppy pile, but now this sweetheart is ready to find a family of her very own. Could that be with you? Joy will be available for adoption on Valentine’s Day, and she fully intends to steal your heart. Based on her mom’s size, we expect Joy to grow into a larger dog, making her an ideal companion for someone looking for a loyal, loving best friend. Momma is extremely vocal (true to her breed), and so are her babies, apartments/condos will not be considered for this litter. Like any puppy her age, Joy is sweet, playful, and full of love. She’s curious about the world and right in her prime for training, socialization, and bonding with her future family. With patience, consistency, and lots of affection, she’s sure to grow into a wonderful lifelong companion. If you’re ready to add a lot of wet nose kisses and butt wiggles to your life, Babe Joy is waiting for you. Apply today and make this Valentine’s Day one you’ll never forget. Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family.    Adoption fees cover basic vetting, rabies (if puppy is old enough), distemper/parvo vaccinations, deworming, monthly heartworm prevention while in our care (if old enough), monthly flea/tick prevention while in our care, and transport costs. K-9 Lifesavers will also cover the cost of spay/neuter at our partner vet at 6 months of age or reimburse adopter for up to the amount of our partner vet cost should you choose to spay/neuter at your own vet.Foster Program:    Foster homes provide for the temporary care of a rescue until the dog is placed into a loving, forever home.  For more information on becoming a foster parent, and our Foster Program, visit http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/foster/ or email our Foster Coordinator at foster@k-9lifesavers.orgSPONSOR ME! Help Save Lives!    Make a tax-deductible donation today and help save a life. Story
We are reaching out to the dog-loving community to find a safe and happy home for our loveable dog Gambit. My wife unfortunately developed a severe allergy and we can no longer keep him. Gambit is a 4-year-old male (mixed breed rescue) who is incredibly sweet and affectionate with his person. He loves cuddles and bonding time and truly wants to feel safe and connected. As an adoptee, he is naturally anxious and can be fearful in new situations. Important details about Gambit: Struggles with separation anxiety Nervous with strangers at first and can appear intimidating, but warms up fairly quickly Moderate prey drive toward cats and small dogs Would do best as the only pet and or with kids (possibly okay with a calm, larger dogs) Highly intelligent and extremely protective Would do best with an experienced owner who understands body language and fear-based behaviors He completed formal boarded e-collar training at around 9 months old, but it has not been consistently maintained.

Story
Sylvia is the kind of dog who makes people stop and smile before they even realize why. With her enormous, cloud-like head of white fluff and soulful expression, this Great Pyrenees girl radiates beauty and quiet confidence. Born around November 5th, 2025, Sylvia already carries herself like royalty and truly believes she deserves to be adored. And honestly, once you meet her, it’s hard to disagree.   Sylvia is deeply people-oriented and thrives on connection. She wants to be wherever her humans are, involved in whatever they’re doing, watching closely and making sure she’s not missing a thing. She has no hesitation about expressing her feelings and will gently but clearly let you know when she expects attention, affection, or reassurance. Grooming time is one of her greatest joys, and she soaks up brushing, petting, and pampering as if it were her rightful due.   Playtime brings out her youthful sparkle. Balls and squeaky toys are her absolute favorites, and she delights in engaging both people and other dogs with her friendly, confident nature. Sylvia approaches new humans and canine friends with ease, showing no shyness and a naturally social heart. She has spent time with children, allowing herself to be hugged, handled, and even carried around with remarkable patience and grace, clearly enjoying the attention. While she hasn’t met cats yet, her calm and tolerant temperament suggests she would adjust just fine.   Sylvia will grow into a large and impressive dog, expected to reach at least 80 pounds. As a true Great Pyrenees, she will need space to roam and fulfill her instinct to observe and patrol her surroundings. A securely fenced yard is essential unless she has access to wide-open acreage where she can stretch her legs and feel at ease. With the right environment and a family that appreciates her devoted, affectionate nature, Sylvia will be an extraordinary companion who adds joy, beauty, and a little sparkle to every day.     If you are interested in adopting this beautiful great pyrenees puppy who is ready to come to your home on January 30th please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at Ccrnewengland@gmail.com A   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comMarch 7, 2026, 12:24 pm

Story
Meet sweet as maple syrup Maple! She is one of six young Great Pyrenees mix puppies who found themselves homeless—until Miss Kayla came to their rescue. She loaded up her truck and whisked the pups away to safety. Unsure of what awaited them, the puppies were overjoyed to discover they were headed to a beautiful farm, where they will stay with Miss Kayla until their forever families find them.   The puppies have plenty of space to run and play, enjoying daily exercise as they race to the pond. On warm days, you’ll often find several of them taking a joyful dip—white dogs and muddy water make for lots of fun! Autumn and her siblings are exceptionally smart. They’ve already mastered sit, stay, roll over, and give paw, and they’re always eager to learn new tricks. All of the puppies are kennel trained and making excellent progress with potty training. Each one knows exactly which kennel is theirs for mealtime and bedtime—impressive for such young pups!   You won’t find a more loving litter of puppies. They nap and play together all day, forming strong bonds with each other. While they don’t need to be adopted as a group, these social butterflies will thrive best in homes with another dog for companionship. If you’re looking to welcome a BIG boy or girl into your family, one of these pups could be the perfect fit. They will be spayed or neutered, up to date on all vaccines, and microchipped before adoption. Puppies are required to receive three vaccines at three-week intervals, and they’ll be ready to travel to their forever homes on April 3.   To be considered as a forever family and to request an application, please email Vivienne at vivienneajames@gmail.com or text 615-943-7311. An approved application and adoption fee are required. (These wonderful pups are located in Tennessee and can be transported north on April 3.)March 7, 2026, 12:24 pm

Story
River is an old soul looking for his soulmate - could you be his person?  River had a tough start in life and came to PAW quite frightened of the world.  With the endless love and dedication of his foster family he has begun to feel secure - and to blossom.  Now he needs to find his forever home where a loving adopter will continue the process to help him to become the dog he is meant to be. River is a gentle giant.  At 2 & 1/2 and 70 pounds, he is a big fluffy love bug.  At first River can be anxious around new people and in new environments - but once warmed up, he loves people (including children) and other dogs. In fact, River must have another dog in the house as he follows the lead of his current foster brother and has learned so much from him! River loves running and playing in the yard.  Because he is still working on leash walking, River's forever home must have a fenced-in yard.  It will be important to continue leash training and exposure to new situations. This is the best way to build River's confidence and to teach him that the wide world is a fun place to explore!  River's daily medication helps calm him down, and this is something that his forever person will need to continue for River's benefit and comfort.  If you think you could be the one for River, apply to adopt today! PAW places animals in the DC, MD, northern VA, and southern PA area only. ##1836418##
