Girlie was found as a pregnant stray and gave birth to 7 puppies. Girlie proved to be an incredibly loving and attentive mother. The puppies have now been weaned and all have found homes. Girlie's mommy days are over. She has been spayed and ready to find her own family to take care of her forever. Girlie is very good with other dogs, playful, submissive, walks great on a leash, super sweet. We do not know what she thinks of cats. Girlie is 2 years old and 73 pounds. Please help Girlie find the loving home she deserves. Update: Girlie had tested positive for Lyme's. She has already completed her antibiotic treatment and is feeling great. Remi is a 4.9-year-old, 60 lb super mutt who has sadly lost the only home she’s ever known. She’s a mix of many breeds and is full of love and loyalty. Remi adores people, including kids, and plays well with dogs her size or larger, but small dogs aren’t a good fit for her. She’s obedient, eager to please, and affectionate, making her a wonderful companion. Remi is also house trained and ready to find her forever family. If you’re looking for a sweet, loving dog to join your home, Remi is waiting! Apply at EHRDOGS.ORG. Story
Say hello to Yeti! This 90-pound, 1-2 year old handsome Great Pyrenees boy is as friendly as he is beautiful. He followed a hiker home and was brought to animal control where he demonstrated no aggression toward people or other dogs. This boy is EXTREMELY loving and will make an excellent family dog. Fully vetted and ready to meet his new family—could yours be the one?  From a shelter employee: "Yeti  is a true gentle giant.  He will stand head-to-head with a person if he’s called to do so but when he does jump up, he bears all his weight on his own back legs.  I felt absolutely no weight on my shoulders when he put his paws up on me.  And when asked to get down he does so with no hesitation.  He’s not much of a barker either.  I haven’t heard him bark at all, though others say they have minimally." If you’re looking for a big-hearted, devoted friend to share your adventures, Yeti could be the perfect match. To set up a meet and greet with Yeti, please fill out an adoption application at www.ehrdogs.org and be sure to ask for YETI SCAS! Story
Harley’s story is one of loyalty, resilience, and quiet hope. An 18-month-old, 125-pound Great Pyrenees, he was lovingly raised in a home full of children, laughter, and structure. When his family faced a sudden divorce and had to move into a much smaller space without a yard, Harley lost the home he knew — not because he wasn’t loved, but because life changed faster than anyone expected. Despite the upheaval, Harley remains wonderfully grounded and joyful. He is a dog who finds happiness in simple things: being outside, watching over his home, playing fetch with his people, and romping happily with other dogs. He is friendly, calm, and deeply affectionate in a soft, unassuming way. Praise and gentle affection mean everything to him, and he takes great pride in being near his people, even tagging along for household chores like a fluffy, devoted assistant. Harley embodies everything people love about the Great Pyrenees — a massive heart wrapped in a calm, loving soul. He’s looking for a forever home where he can stretch out, settle in, and know that this time, it’s truly permanent. If you think you might be that home, please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com. PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.January 25, 2026, 10:05 pm

Story
Maja is a nine-month-old Great Pyrenees girl with long legs, a tender heart, and the kind of calm beauty that makes you slow down just by being near her. Currently about 70 pounds and still underweight, she’s growing into the majestic dog she was always meant to be, with an expected adult size around 90 pounds. Her name, Maja, is Swedish for “beautiful girl,” and it fits her perfectly—inside and out. Her early life wasn’t what it should have been. She came from a farming family who could no longer care for her and chose to let her wander rather than protect her. When she was found and the owners declined to take her back, Maja found herself in a shelter, quietly waiting. Critter Cavalry Rescue saw her gentle spirit and stepped in, placing her with a foster family experienced with Great Pyrenees who immediately recognized what a rare and lovely soul she is. Maja is everything people adore about her breed—easygoing, calm, and deeply gentle. She moves through life with a soft presence, never destructive, never demanding, just quietly grateful to be included. Having never lived indoors before January 22, everything is new to her, and she’s taking it all in with grace. House training is a work in progress, but she’s learning at her own steady pace, and her foster family is helping her understand what life inside a home feels like. She gets along beautifully with other dogs and is currently living peacefully with a cat, enjoying the comfort of companionship. Maja loves belly rubs and couch cuddles, and she’s already figured out that being close to her people is one of life’s greatest joys. She enjoys the outdoors, as Great Pyrenees do, but happily comes inside when invited, content to settle in and relax. Toys are a brand-new concept for her, and watching her discover play has been nothing short of heart-melting. She has started offering gentle play bows and exploring what it means to have fun with her humans. True to her breed, she has a touch of independence and occasional selective listening, but it’s wrapped in kindness and calm, never chaos. Maja is tall, elegant, and exceptionally kind in her interactions with people, children, and other animals. She carries no emotional scars from her past—just an open heart and a quiet readiness to belong. She will be a treasure to the family who welcomes her, an easy dog to love, and a loyal companion who brings peace into a home simply by being herself. Maja is ready for her forever family and a life filled with safety, patience, and affection. She has so much love to give, and she’s waiting for someone who sees not just her beauty, but the gentle soul behind it. If you are interested in this beauty, please write to Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com.   please let us know what city and state you live in as we adopt to Tennessee residents where we are based and also to the Northeast states where we transport weekly. PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.January 24, 2026, 12:03 pm

Story
Sylvia is the kind of dog who makes people stop and smile before they even realize why. With her enormous, cloud-like head of white fluff and soulful expression, this Great Pyrenees girl radiates beauty and quiet confidence. Born around November 5th, 2025, Sylvia already carries herself like royalty and truly believes she deserves to be adored. And honestly, once you meet her, it’s hard to disagree.   Sylvia is deeply people-oriented and thrives on connection. She wants to be wherever her humans are, involved in whatever they’re doing, watching closely and making sure she’s not missing a thing. She has no hesitation about expressing her feelings and will gently but clearly let you know when she expects attention, affection, or reassurance. Grooming time is one of her greatest joys, and she soaks up brushing, petting, and pampering as if it were her rightful due.   Playtime brings out her youthful sparkle. Balls and squeaky toys are her absolute favorites, and she delights in engaging both people and other dogs with her friendly, confident nature. Sylvia approaches new humans and canine friends with ease, showing no shyness and a naturally social heart. She has spent time with children, allowing herself to be hugged, handled, and even carried around with remarkable patience and grace, clearly enjoying the attention. While she hasn’t met cats yet, her calm and tolerant temperament suggests she would adjust just fine.   Sylvia will grow into a large and impressive dog, expected to reach at least 80 pounds. As a true Great Pyrenees, she will need space to roam and fulfill her instinct to observe and patrol her surroundings. A securely fenced yard is essential unless she has access to wide-open acreage where she can stretch her legs and feel at ease. With the right environment and a family that appreciates her devoted, affectionate nature, Sylvia will be an extraordinary companion who adds joy, beauty, and a little sparkle to every day.     If you are interested in adopting this beautiful great pyrenees puppy who is ready to come to your home on January 30th please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at Ccrnewengland@gmail.com A   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comJanuary 30, 2026, 7:07 pm
