Story
Eowyn (pronounced "A O win") is a very wonderful dog. I drove down to Texas to pick her up from a dear friend who is battling pancreatic cancer and could no longer take care of her. When I got home with her to Illinois, I immediately found out that she is NOT compatible with other animals, especially cats. She is a VERY loving dog, very emotionally supportive and she LOVES all people!!!! Please help me find her a forever home. She just cannot be with any other pets or animals. The very minute you meet her you will fall in love with her. I live in Belleville, IL and am willing to transport her within 200 mile radius, or even further if necessary

Story
Need a little pick-me-up? Boy, do we have you covered! Koda- the living embodiment of a ray of sunshine- is ready to be just that, and even more! A few words from Koda's foster mom: "Koda is a very sweet boy! He loves to go for long walks. He also love to snuggle on the couch & rest his head on your lap & sometimes he tries to lay on you with his entire body! Which he finds funny. He does not like to play fetch but he will go get the ball & run right past you with it... he thinks that's the game. The one thing he can absolutely not live without is milk jugs! He is absolutely obsessed with empty milk jugs, it is his favorite toy of all. Koda is beyond ready for his forever family! He will be your best friend! He will greet you at the door anytime you leave and come home! However, he is completely crate trained, he loves his crate, especially in the summer when he can lay on the cool plastic!! He loves kids, but does jump when overly excited (still working on that)! He loves the fall and winter and you will have to beg him to come inside. However, in the summer he will want to come in and lay right on a vent. I hope you consider adding this sweet cuddly happy boy to your family!"

Story
Meet baby girl Autum. She is new to GPG and looking for a family to call her own. Part of the fun of adopting a puppy from an animal rescue is the surprise that comes along with their growth. Their size at adulthood is simply a guess and cannot be guaranteed. When you adopt a puppy from GPG, we trust that you will love and care for this animal regardless of their actual adult size and physical appearance. If you are interested in a meet and greet for adoption for Autum, please fill out an application on our website at www.gatewaypets.org/adopt. If you are interested in learning more about Autum or the adoption process at GPG, please email placement@gatewaypets.org All of our dogs and cats will be micro-chipped, spayed or neutered, and up-to-date on vaccinations at the time of adoption. For more photos of Autum, follow us on Facebook Gateway Pet Guardians and Instagram @gatewaypets ... #gpgAutum. To view other adoptable pets from our shelter, please visit, www.gatewaypets.org/adopt Gateway Pet Guardians is proud to offer a variety of mixed breed dogs available for adoption. However, please keep in mind that we rarely know the genetic background of the animals we rescue and, as such, we cannot guarantee the exact breed combinations found within this dog. However, we do not know her actual genetic makeup. Just know that this dog is probably a variety of several different breeds that have combined to create one very amazing and unique animal.

Story
Gwen is so cute and totally petite. She is definitely a little husky. She is a bit on the shy side and will need some love and reassurance to build her confidence. Don't we all? Come to the shelter and meet this girl. She is so wonderful and deserving of a fresh start with people who will help build her self esteem. She is good with other dogs too. Gwen is 9 months old and weighs 30 pounds. The adoption fee for adult dogs, seven months and older, is $250. All pets are microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and will be altered prior to adoption. If you are interested in meeting Gwen, please stop by the shelter during open hours or complete an adoption application on our website. If you have an existing dog at home, we recommend bringing it along to meet Gwen.helpingstrays.orgGwen has heartworms and will be starting treatment soon. She would greatly benefit from having a calm home to recuperate in rather than trying to rest in a noisy and stressful shelter environment. If you would like to provide a foster home during Gwen's heartworm treatment, Helping Strays will provide everything you need; the medical care, crate, food, etc. Gwen can still be adopted but will need to come back to the shelter periodically to complete her treatment which is covered in the adoption fee.

Story
This pretty girl is Jada.  It has been pointed out by someone who has had Carolina Dogs that Jada is likely one herself.  After reading about the breed the foster mom is sure she is.  She is guessed to be 3 years old and about 60 lbs.  She is smart, affectionate, high energy and vocal.  She would do best with a fenced yard or another play mate.  She loves to run, play and roughhouse with the other young dogs in her foster home.  She can be a bully to older and or very submissive dogs   She is housebroke and goes into her crate easily.  She is very intelligent and learned sit, down and shake paw in a matter of minutes.  She will make a great dog for a family but is probably too high energy for toddlers and younger .   If you are interested, complete the  Adoption Application  on our website at  www.NeedyPaws.org  and we will contact you.  Adopters must live within an hour’s drive of St. Louis, MO. Jada’s adoption fee is $275.00, which includes up-to-date vaccinations, heartworm testing and preventative, spay/neuter and microchip. We are a 100% foster-based rescue and all of our dogs live in approved foster homes. We are dedicated to finding the best Forever Homes, and will perform home visits and conduct veterinarian and reference checks for each potential adopter.
