Story
Meet Lucy! This beautiful 7-year-old Husky is the perfect mix of sweet, social, and easygoing. Lucy loves meeting new people and greets everyone with her relaxed and friendly personality. She’s the kind of dog who enjoys being part of the action but is also happy to just hang out and enjoy your company.Lucy can do well with other dogs who understand her playful Husky personality. She can be a little mouthy and very vocal when she gets excited, so she’ll need canine friends who are tolerant and confident around her communication style. True to her breed, Lucy loves to “talk” and express herself! Lucy however has not been known to do well with cats - she is a bit too interested in chasing them around. Like many huskies, Lucy can become destructive in the home without proper exercise and stimulation. All in all, Lucy is a very sweet lady who will thrive in a home where her husky mannerisms are understood and appreciated. If you`re looking for a talkative, mature, and beautiful companion, look no further!

Story
Meet Koda! This handsome 5 year old husky is looking for a fresh start and a family to call his own. Koda came to the shelter in rough shape, but we won’t let his past define him. Every day, he continues to show us what a resilient and gentle soul he truly is.Koda can be shy and reserved when meeting new people. New situations and unfamiliar faces can make him a little unsure at first, but with patience, kindness, and a little encouragement, he has shown that he is capable of building trust and finding comfort in gentle affection. Once he begins to feel safe, you can see glimpses of the sweet dog hiding beneath his cautious exterior.Despite his shyness, Koda has been nothing but tolerant, calm, and docile during his time at the shelter. He appreciates having his boundaries respected and, like many Huskies, prefers affection to be on his own terms. He may not be the type of dog to immediately jump into your lap, but earning his trust is a rewarding experience. Once he is comfortable, Koda is very affectionate and really enjoys being next to his person. Koda is looking for a quiet, understanding home where he can decompress and learn that the world can be a safe and happy place. He has previously lived with a child, and older children who can respect his need for space would likely be a good match. Koda has shown some resource guarding tendencies with other dogs, so he would be best as the only dog in a household, or could likely live with another dog if his adopters are dog savvy and committed to managing his resource guarding. While he has not lived with cats before, slow and careful introductions may help him successfully adjust to a feline companion. One of Koda’s many strengths is that he is already house-trained and crate-trained, giving him a great foundation as he transitions into a new home. With consistency, patience, and positive reinforcement, we believe he has the potential to continue growing in confidence and become a wonderful companion. If you have a peaceful home, a gentle hand, and the patience to help a shy dog blossom, Koda could be the perfect fit. Watching a dog like Koda come out of his shell, learn to trust, and discover the joys of family life is an incredibly rewarding experience. He’s ready for his second chance - could it be with you?

Story
Hello, darling. My name is Sakari, and I like to think of myself as a sophisticated lady... right up until I find something interesting to steal off the counter.I can be a little reserved when meeting new people, but give me a moment and you`ll quickly discover the affectionate, silly husky hiding underneath. Once you`re in my circle, I`m all about companionship, adventures, and finding creative ways to make you laugh. I have a medium-to-high energy lifestyle and absolutely adore getting out for walks, exploring the world, and taking in all the sights and smells. Life is simply more fun when there`s somewhere to go and someone to go with.I don`t mind the company of other dogs and can happily share space with them on walks or during playtime, but when it comes to living arrangements, I prefer to be the only four-legged resident. You see, I take certain treasures very seriously, and I`ll need an adopter who understands that some things are mine and who is committed to continuing positive training to help me make good choices. I have a history of being protective over special items, so I need a home with adults or older teens who can respect my boundaries and help set me up for success.I`m also clever. Perhaps a little too clever. If food is left unattended, I may consider it a gift. If a door has a handle, I may consider it a puzzle. Keeping one step ahead of me is all part of the Sakari experience.Underneath my mischievous streak is a truly loving dog who wants nothing more than to be cherished by her people. I`m sweet, loyal, full of personality, and ready to bring plenty of laughter, adventure, and husky commentary into the right home. If you`re looking for a beautiful girl with a big heart, a sharp mind, and just enough sass to keep life interesting, I think we might be perfect for each other.
