Since welcoming our youngest in 2024 and caring for multiple children with special needs, our lives have become very full. Rip deserves more time, attention, and activity than we can currently give.Rip is energetic, loving, and thrives on play and companionship. She’s house-trained, crate-trained, and does well with children. She’s loyal and forms strong bonds with her people.With her Husky traits, she’d do best in an active home, ideally with someone experienced with high-energy breeds. She’ll flourish with structure, exercise, and engagement.We love her deeply and want a home where she’ll be happy and truly cherished ❤️

He was found on the side of the interstate after he'd been hit by a car. The impact fractured his pelvis and tail. Unfortunately his tail had to be amputated to allow recovery. Jake is what Husky people refer to as having a "true Husky" personality. Friendly and social, but with a super stubborn streak! He'd be best suited in a home with prior Husky experience. Jacob is estimated to be a few years old. Due to his injury, we're only now allowing brief interactions with other dogs, though we can say he's never been bothered seeing them while outside. No dog loves every other dog, just as humans do not like every other human they meet. A proper introduction (meet and greet) would be required as part of our application process. IS THIS DOG GOOD WITH CHILDREN? The better question is how the children have been taught to handle animals. A dog will respond negatively if he/she is not being handled properly. We can offer suggestions on how to teach children to interact with dogs and pay attention to body language. Young children should never be left unsupervised with new dogs. Blue and his sister Sassy came from a situation where they lived outside in a fenced in yard, but didn't have a lot of socialization. Their human passed away and that is why FOCCAS took over care. The two of them started out very shy and wary of everyone. Since being at the rescue, they have learned to trust people. Blue is much more confident than Sassy, but would still need a patient person to continue to build his confidence. He looks forward to walks using a gentle leader, treats, and attention from volunteers. Blue is ready for adventure with a fun family!FOCCAS is a foster based, non-profit rescue in Crossville, TN. The adoption fee Includes Age-Appropriate Vaccinations (DA2PPV, Bordetella, Rabies), Deworming, Spay/Neuter, Microchip, Flea/Tick/Heartworm Prevention, and Sheltering.
