Every question must be answered, and it must be signed.-Applicants must be 21+ years old and live within a 100-mile radius of our shelter at 22415 Groesbeck Hwy, Warren 48089.-You must identify at least 1 animal that you are interested in.-Once your application is received, it will be assigned to one of our volunteer Adoption Counselors who will follow-up with the applicant who is the best fit within a few days, or to discuss other options. It could take up to a couple of weeks for you to receive a final disposition on your application so there is no need to check on the status.-Introductions will be scheduled by appointment only, 30 minutes per appointment. The entire household, including current dogs, must be present for the appointment. (Note: Please do not bring your dogs if you are meeting cats!). This is Dusse. She was found abandoned by her previous owner a few weeks ago and I’ve been temporarily caring for her for the time being. She is believed to be a Husky/Akita mix but I am not sure on the specifics. The Bad: She does not seem to be very good with other dogs as she gets overly excited and playful which could potentially make other dogs defensive. Out of 10 people she may pass on a walk, she’ll randomly want to jump on/play with about 3 of them. She has been shedding heavily even though she gets brushed regularly. I am unable to take her to a groomer until her vet records are updated. She currently has either allergies or a yeast infection that she is has an appointment to be seen for. She is a puller when it comes to walks. This may possibly be remedied with a harness though I am not yet sure. The Good: She is house trained. She is an active girl and loves to play with her toys. She seems to be food motivated.
