Story
Meet Boo! Don’t worry — these little Monsters are more about cuddles than scares! Meet the Monsters, Inc. litter, a group of playful, lovable, and totally adorable husky mix puppies named after your favorite characters from the beloved movie. These little loveable “scare” experts are ready to bring joy, laughter, and plenty of puppy kisses into your life. But be warned—once you meet them, your heart will be monstrously full! Just like her Monsters, Inc. namesake, Boo is a curious, loving, and playful little pup who will steal your heart in an instant! Boo's past is a bit of a mystery but we believe she experienced unkind interactions with humans, so she is bit timid at first. She needs someone who is willing to meet her where she is, understands that she needs time and patience, and is invested in continuing to support confidence building and positive associations with humans. She may start off a bit shy, but once she warms up, she’s an affectionate, snuggly lovebug who adores pets, cuddles, and gentle playtime. Boo enjoys a balanced mix of play and rest, spending her days exploring her environment, climbing on things, and soaking up all the love from her humans. Boo enjoys playtime, snuggles, and naps in equal measure. Boo a smart girl who already knows many basic commands like "sit", "down", "stay", and "come." She is working on potty training, wearing a collar, leash training, and crate training. She’s friendly with people and other animals but appreciates a little patience when meeting new friends. With a calm and consistent routine, she’ll thrive in just about any home environment — whether it’s with a quiet, laid-back family or a more active household. This girl has made so much progress already and is ready to take on the world with someone who is dedicated to her training and socialization. Adoption is $325, which includes spay/neuter at our vet when age appropriate, vaccines to date of adoption, dewormer, microchip, and clean bill of health. Meet Koda - Koda is a one-year-old pup full of energy, smarts, and love. With her vibrant personality and affectionate nature, she’s ready to find a foster — or better yet, a forever home — where she can truly shine. Koda is well-adjusted to home life. She’s crate trained, potty trained, and always ready for her next adventure. Mornings are her favorite — she starts each day with playful energy and would make an excellent jogging or walking partner. She’s also very dog-friendly and would thrive with a playful male dog in the home. Affectionate, eager to learn, and always up for fun, Koda is the perfect match for an active person or family looking for a loyal companion. If you're ready for a sweet, playful sidekick who’s always up for a good time, Koda is waiting to meet you. Adoption is $275, which includes spay/neuter at our vet, vaccines, dewormer, microchip, and clean bill of health. Although we work to potty train all of our dogs, we cannot guarantee full house training before adoption. Regression is a normal part of transitioning to a new home. Bluey A18180554 lb. neutered male, approx 1 year old -Goofy boy!-He takes treats occasionally but didn’t eat the two kinds I offered. Still needs work with “sit”.-Playful and bouncy. He briefly threw around a couple toys.-He likes pets and will jump up on your lap and wrap his paws around your arm-He gives kisses-He walks nicely on leash and doesn’t aspire to be a sled dog! Refreshing! 😂-Seems non reactive to dogs nearby and may do well living with a fur sibling after slow and proper intros Unknown behavior with dogs/cats/kids •Meet all of our adoptable pets on our website friendsofdacc.org/adopt •Please keep in mind that the shelter can be a very stressful environment. •Studies show that a minimum of 3 days decompression drastically lower stress hormones and allow the dog to show more personality after they have settled in. •There is a suggested donation of $100 for our dogs, payable by cash, check or through paypal at the time of the adoption. •To meet them please go to front door and a DACC staff member will assist you with adoption or fostering. **And when coming to meet one of our dogs, please bring all the humans with you, but leave any current dogs at home. Staff will go over how to slowly and properly introduce them after a decompression period.** •The shelter is open 7 days a week from 10:30-5:30 **1431 E Ferry St. Detroit

Story
Samson and Delilah were both found together and found by a woman who contacted our rescue for help. After taking them to the vet we learned they were each heartworm positive but now Samson has completed undergoing heartworm treatment. Samson is a sweetie and we are so happy we are able to help him and find him a new forever family. He is a wonderful loving dog, friendly and playful. Samson enjoys going on walks and enjoys getting a bath and eating regular meals which he never had. He was very thin when we first got him with his ribs showing and starving. Now he is happy and affectionate and enjoys getting a pat on the head or a belly rub. Even though his start was very rough, Samson is high spirted and since being in his foster home has learned not all people are bad. Please inquire about him. He is a gem! Samson weighs about 55 pounds and is approximately 3 years old.

Story
This is Dusse. She was found abandoned by her previous owner a few weeks ago and I’ve been temporarily caring for her for the time being. She is believed to be a Husky/Akita mix but I am not sure on the specifics. The Bad: She does not seem to be very good with other dogs as she gets overly excited and playful which could potentially make other dogs defensive. Out of 10 people she may pass on a walk, she’ll randomly want to jump on/play with about 3 of them. She has been shedding heavily even though she gets brushed regularly. I am unable to take her to a groomer until her vet records are updated. She currently has either allergies or a yeast infection that she is has an appointment to be seen for. She is a puller when it comes to walks. This may possibly be remedied with a harness though I am not yet sure. The Good: She is house trained. She is an active girl and loves to play with her toys. She seems to be food motivated.

Story
Sage is a bold and intelligent mixed breed dog, with a heart of gold. She is affectionate and attentive, but also silly and independent. Sage had puppies with us, and one of the puppies had a DNA test done. We therefore know that she is a makeup of very many breeds, predominantly Pitbull and Chow. Sage is super duper clean, and very food motivated. She will fly through the air for as little as a kibble. Sage is a lot of fun to train, she follows a lure great, and knows commands like 'jump' 'down' and 'crawl'. Sage is dog selective, but leash reactive. She should be the only dog in her household. Sage is not getting any applications because she is ugly. She is a soft, snuggly dog who will make you laugh every day. She has humble expectations of what a great life is!
