Story
This is Bear, he was adopted from a shelter, with his sister. He is 70 pounds with blue eyes and a brown, red and white coat. He is a big boy, but is sweet and loves to cuddle. He is very vocal. His tone can be intimidating and he can be mouthy but he has a very good temperament. Bear had surgery 2 months ago to fix entropion, everything is healed now, and he is more comfortable. He is so sweet, he loves cuddles, giving kisses, belly scratches, walks and playing outside. If he is left unattended he will escape! He may need a home without another dog. He doesn't always get along with other dogs including his sister, he becomes extremely jealous when the attention is not on him. He does know some commands, is house trained, and crate trained. He needs a home where someone is home most of the time, he will try to break out of his crate if left alone. Him and his sister were part of a neglect case before coming to us. His sister is available to adopt with him if you are really experienced.

Story
Give a warm welcome to Khaleesi! This sweet girl is looking for a forever home to call her own. Khaleesi loves to run and romp around with all her human friends, she hopes her new family can offer her lots of playtime outside and tons of awesome toys, especially plush toys. She would love to be your little shadow and follow you around wherever you go. Khaleesi loves making friends with every person she sees and just loves to be in the mix. She is looking for a family who will prioritize her daily mental and physical enrichment by taking her for daily walks and offering her things such as puzzle feeders and find it toys. Khaleesi loves meeting other dogs here at the shelter and making friends, she may enjoy having another k-9 companion in her new home. She would do best with a playful and social dog who will listen to her cues. Does Khaleesi sound like the one for you? Come in and meet her today!

Story
Trinity is a very pretty Husky mix with blue eyes. She is currently fostered with other dogs in an adult home. We don't know how she is around young children but older kids should be fine. She is energetic and playful and might be a good companion for another dog. Those interested should be familiar with the breed. She would enjoy going on walks with someone willing to give her lots of love and attention. Trinity is microchipped. We think she is about 1-2 years old.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. If interested in any of our animals for adoption, or to foster an animal, please fill out the respective application here to get the process started. Visit our FAQ webpage for commonly asked questions about our adoption/foster process. Coco Puff is a one year old male Siberian Husky. He is on the smaller side for a husky, at about 45 pounds, and will not get much bigger. He is crate and trained and potty trained. He came all the way from a rural Texas shelter where he was to be euthanized for space. He is the sweetest boy, and very happy to be in Michigan! He is friendly to other dogs, big and small, and children. He should be supervised around young children as he is excitable and may knock them over. We believe with slow introductions that he may do well with cats, as he is friendly to my mean chihuahua. He loves to go for walks, but uses a special harness so he doesn’t pull. He gets the zoomies, loves to cuddle, loves to play, and loves water. He prefers to sleep in the bed and take up all the space! He is still a puppy and learning puppy manners, like not to jump when excited. He knows sit, come, and kennel, and is still learning more! Coco Puff is a good representation of his breed. He is very much a husky, and special care should be taken to prevent escaping. He can open doors, and has chewed through or slipped harnesses and leashes. He should always wear a martingale collar with his identification attached. He should wear a harness on walks, which after should then be removed as he chews on them if left alone. He would benefit from an airplane-approved crate as he tries to open the doors of wire crates with his tongue. He does shed and sometimes likes to talk. However, he is pretty quiet at night in his kennel. Research on the breed or breed experience is recommended prior to adoption. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal. Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting. Please understand that statements made regarding this animal are simply overviews and are not guaranteed. The Petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our animals. Visual breed identification in animals is unreliable so for most of the animals we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each animal as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our animals based on personality, not by breed label. Thank you for looking through our list of animals needing forever homes and choosing rescue first. We appreciate you stopping by. April 19, 2024, 11:26 am
