This very smart boy ended up in need of the shelter when he was found lost and alone. He had a microchip, but the owners hung up on our officer. Now that he has surpassed the legal hold of, he is officially unclaimed and available for adoption. Brutus calmly waits each morning to be taken out to the bathroom and to get time outside to stretch his legs. A fantastic Husky who likely ended up unclaimed for the same reason most do. Owners unprepared for the demands of this wonderful, but driven breed. Thank you for your interest in adopting! Does this dog get along with cats? There is almost always an acclimation period when a new pet joins the household. We are happy to suggest a few ways to ease the transition. If one of our dogs is reported to have lived with cats previously, that will be indicated in the dog's description! Does this dog react well to other dogs? No dog loves every other dog, just as humans do not like every other human they meet. A proper introduction (meet and greet) would be required as part of our application process. Is this dog good with children? The better question is how the children have been taught to handle animals. A dog will respond negatively if he/she is not being handled properly. We can offer suggestions on how to teach children to interact with dogs and pay attention to body language. Young children should never be left unsupervised with new dogs. How did this dog end up in a shelter? Trinity is a very pretty Husky mix with blue eyes. She is currently fostered with other dogs in an adult home. We don't know how she is around young children but older kids should be fine. She is energetic and playful and might be a good companion for another dog. Those interested should be familiar with the breed. She would enjoy going on walks with someone willing to give her lots of love and attention. Trinity is microchipped. We think she is about 1-2 years old.

Story
This is Bear, he was adopted from a shelter, with his sister. He is 70 pounds with blue eyes and a brown, red and white coat. He is a big boy, but is sweet and loves to cuddle. He is very vocal. His tone can be intimidating and he can be mouthy but he has a very good temperament. Bear had surgery 2 months ago to fix entropion, everything is healed now, and he is more comfortable. He is so sweet, he loves cuddles, giving kisses, belly scratches, walks and playing outside. If he is left unattended he will escape! He may need a home without another dog. He doesn't always get along with other dogs including his sister, he becomes extremely jealous when the attention is not on him. He does know some commands, is house trained, and crate trained. He needs a home where someone is home most of the time, he will try to break out of his crate if left alone. Him and his sister were part of a neglect case before coming to us. His sister is available to adopt with him if you are really experienced.
