Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. THEO was saved from a high kill shelter in Texas and  arrived at Give a Dog a Home Rescue in Sebec, Maine on Friday, 14th February. We post our available dogs in states across the east coast and Canada to reach as many people as possible in hopes to find perfect homes and families. We do not transport dogs, families must come to the rescue to meet and then hopefully take home. THEO is neutered, rabies, core vaccines, heartworm and tick tested negative, is on monthly flea/tick prevention and was given the 12 month pro-heart heartworm prevention injection in February 2025. He is microchipped and on 12 February weighed 50.20 pounds. He has an estimated date of birth of December 2022.  We do not know what the breed is, we expect families to decide looking at any pictures and video's provide and decide if the breed is a good fit for their family. Theo does have "Partial Heterochromia, also referred to as Sectoral Heterochromia" which is when part of the iris is a different colour than the rest of the eye. In Theo's case, it is the ice blue, which is common in the husky breeds and adds a beautiful uniqueness to his already stunning face. The shelter volunteer (21 January) stated friendly but a bit nervous as well, approached me, sniffed my hands and allowed me to pet him, offered him a treat but was not interested in them, semi walks on leash, would try pulling back licking his lips.  (25 January) he came out to the yard and was freezing to greets and was very unsure not understanding what was going on because he would just try to stay on his own wanting to get away from the other dogs.   (Rescue comments - it is important to take into account when reading these comments that these dogs are in a strange environment with a lot of dogs, and they are learning about each other in a very small space of time, it is high stimulation environment, also often the first time they have had exercise with other dogs.  Comments are from volunteers, not trainers or behavio rists). We are looking for families that have the lifestyle that the dog needs to lead a healthy, both mentally and physically life, who can afford a GOOD quality food, toys and treats and understand the importance of veterinary wellness checks. THEO is available for adoption for an adoption fee of $550, as noted he is located at the rescue in Sebec, Maine and families are required to complete and submit an  adoption application and when approved schedule an appointment to come to the rescue to meet and hopefully take home this sweet boy. Applications are processed with 24 hours of them being received. Story
Marley is a beautiful purebred Husky girl that is a nice settled 6 year old girl that is 45 pounds and rescued from a totally inhumane living environment for the last 4 years.   This girl needs some patience, love, training to not jump on you as you enter her space to pet her and a first time ever inside home.  She has lived in a neglected backyard environment that has resulted in her having heartworms which are being treated now. She will be fine after the treatment is done.  We are desperately trying to help the family who took and the other dog in to their home to give them fresh water daily (not the black rain water in the kiddie pool), food daily (instead of every 4 days) and a grassy environment that is mowed weekly and no 7 feet tall with weeds.  We are all working hard to get her and the other dog (can be separated) the good and caring homes and people to love them.  Marley deserves a dream come true new place in life.  She is not housebroken at the moment due to the years living outside.  But that can change in a short time with a schedule and patience.  This girl is playful, friendly and good with other dogs and people.  She just needs to learn NOT to jump on them with her joyful greetings.  Help us give Marley a true Cinderella story of rising from the neglect and abandonment she came from and let’s put her in a castle.  We want her to have a good life and all we need is a person with a rescue kind of heart.  Please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comNovember 5, 2024, 1:27 pm

Story
You know every rescue dog has a pretty significant story that all of us cry over and fight  to help make their life better. This young girl Katya grew up on a pretty despairing property that was full of unaltered cats and dogs and not enough food and sometimes no water and often there was not adequate shelter from all the rain and elements of weather. None of the people around her could take care of all the animals. She was tied out and it broke our heart to go on the property and see the condition shevand others were raised in. Katya has risen above all of that as a one-year-old Husky that weighs 60 lbs. and she is a pure love.   A happy girl with a little bit of shyness because she's never gotten out into the world to experience new things. When we picked her up from the property and took her off that chain we knew she would be smiling very soon. She is always so overjoyed when you cuddle with her and play. She is a mellow Husky with medium energy that is easy to entertain and deal with.  She's lived amongst many cats all her life,  so that typical Husky caution of ' no cats allowed',  doesn't apply to her. She loves children, loves other dogs and she enjoys meeting adults with just a tad shyness and time to warm up to them. We want someone to spoil her rotten. We want someone that will let her sit on their lap and pretend that she's a Chihuahua like she thinks she is in size. She has  an innocence that makes you just want to hug and protect her. She makes you want to give her a better life and future.  If you've got a fenced yard, a Husky loving home, and some time, we want to hear from you. Maybe even just living in an apartment with a dog park could be the much better life that she's looking for. It would be such a better life than what she's had. Let's all come together and find Katya the best new life ever.  Contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comApril 26, 2025, 12:34 pm

Meet Panda Girl: Your New Best Friend!  Name: Panda Girl  Breed: Husky Mix  Age: 2-3 years old Weight: 48 pounds   Let us tell you about Panda Girl's journey which hasn't been easy. She was found at an abandoned house, left in a dirty pen with two other dogs, surviving without food or water for some time. For the past 9 months Panda Girl has been sadly waiting patiently for her forever home at a small town shelter, existing in a dark and depressing, tiny concrete cell. Despite her tough start, Panda Girl is a true sweetheart and still has a great attitude and grateful for any attention or moment outside her cell in the play yard. This girl is able to stay out in the play yard a lot because she gets along well with other dogs and adores everyone she meets. Her time in the shelter's play yard shows that she still has a  playful spirit and friendly nature.  This poor girl needs a break from this mundane existence in a shelter.  9 months is sheer torture and we hope someone will help her get out by fostering or even better, adopting.  Panda Girl deserves a loving family who will give her the care and companionship she craves. Could you be the one to offer her a second chance at happiness? Whether adoption or fostering, Panda Girl is ready to be your loyal and loving companion. Interested in adopting or fostering Panda Girl? Contact Critter Cavalry Animal Rescue today!   Meet Cubby – Your Adventure Buddy and Best Friend! Breed: Husky Mix | Age: 2.5 years | Weight: 50 lbs Cubby is a stunning Husky mix with soulful eyes and a heart of gold. After being rescued from an overcrowded backyard situation, this sweet boy has blossomed in foster care and is now ready to find his forever family.   Cubby has discovered the joys of life—walks, playtime, snuggles, and, most of all, people! He’s affectionate, smart, and always seems to be trying to understand everything around him with those expressive eyes. He’s especially great with children and loves being part of a family.   An energetic and athletic pup, Cubby thrives on adventure. He loves long walks, hiking, backpacking, playing fetch, running beside a bike, and splashing in the water. If you lead an active lifestyle, Cubby might just be your perfect match. And when the day is done? He’s happy to chill on his dog bed, content just being near his people.   Cubby currently lives with two other dogs and absolutely loves playing with them. Story
Very loveable 7 year old Akita. Rescued from shelter. He needs love and attention that we just don’t have the time for and our GSD gets very jealous and will not let us give him the love he needs. We feel as though he would do great as the only pet and no small children, as they are to wound up and makes him nervous. He is an awesome leash walker and loves to be outside, except summer. We call him our big teddy bear
