Story
Meet Twilight! This gorgeous 3-year-old Husky girl is full of spirit and ready for her next adventure—but this time, with a forever family by her side. Twilight came to us after being surrendered from a mill, where her love of freedom (and impressive ability to hop a barn half-door) proved a little too much for the setup. Classic Husky! Twilight is incredibly friendly with people and gets along well with other dogs. She walks nicely on a leash for a Husky—which is to say, she’s doing great, but a no-pull harness and some consistent training will help her shine even more. She’s getting the hang of crate and kennel time and adjusting well to life as a beloved companion. If you’re looking for an affectionate, fun-loving dog with a little mischievous sparkle in her eye, Twilight might just be your perfect match. Twilight is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on age appropriate vaccinations. Interested in adopting Twilight? Fill out an application at www.dogtownrescue.org. An approved application and appointment are required to meet any of our dogs. Dog Town Rescue 📍 1553 Bethlehem Pike, Hatfield, PA 19440 PA Kennel License #12275

Story
Meet Dakota! Dakota isn’t just a beautiful dog—she’s a loyal, eager-to-please companion ready to share life’s adventures with her perfect match. She’s full of joy and gets along with children, dogs, and even cats. Dakota is both potty trained and crate trained, and passed her basic training test with flying colors. Her trainers were amazed at how quickly she picked up commands! This smart girl thrives on mental stimulation and would love to keep learning through advanced training or fun activities. She’s also an athletic pup who needs regular exercise. Because Dakota adores the outdoors, a yard with a high fence is preferred. She has been known to head out for independent exploring if left off leash or in an enclosed area with a fence she can jump over. At the end of the day, Dakota is an extraordinary dog looking for an equally extraordinary human to call her own.

Story
Sir Charles is happy, loving and playful 1 to 2 yr old boy. He is mostly quiet, but will “talk” or get mouthy when he wants something to eat, play or go out. Sir Charles adores people, both big and small. He just wants to shower people with affection and be loved. When it comes to other dogs, Sir Charles is not a fan. No cats or small animals for Sir Charles. He would do best as the only pet in the home. Sir Charles is housebroken. He is crate trained and likes to lounge in his crate. When it comes to toys, Sir Charles is all in! Plush squeekie toys keep his entertained, he plays nicely with toys and doesn’t tear them up. He loves to play fetch outdoors and indoors. Sir Charles will retrieve as long as you are willing to toss a toy. Sir Charles enjoys going on walks and playtime in the yard. This active boy will benefit from a Husky savvy family as he needs continued training as he will pull on leash when he sees dogs and wildlife. Sir Charles has shown improvement with his leash training Before Sir Charles came into rescue, he was suspected of being hit by a car so it’s no surprise that he gets skittish with loud noises, trucks, loud cars etc. However, he is not bothered by fireworks or thunder when he is in the house. Charles is comical and will keep you laughing, he likes to try to climb trees to catch squirrels. This loving boy thinks he is a lap dog and enjoys a snuggle with his family. Sir Charles has so much to give and so much potential. With the right family, the best is yet to be! Sir Charles’ Back Story When found, this brave boy was suspected of being hit by a car. He managed to drag himself to safety before collapsing in someone’s yard. Animal Control brought Charles to a shelter where he was examined by the staff veterinarian, but his injuries were traumatic so he was transported to an emergency hospital where he could receive the critical care he needed. After diagnostic testing, Charles' prognosis was guarded He had multiple issues including pneumothorax (a large volume of air in his chest cavity), a degloving injury (severe separation of tissue separated from muscle) to his lower lip, broken teeth, several lacerations on his body and a small foreign body in his stomach (unrelated to his recent trauma) Immediately, he underwent a chest tap to remove the air from his chest, was put on pain medication and stabilized on a chest tube. While in the hospital, Charles’ sweet nature endeared him to the staff. Despite his condition, he tolerated all the procedures and exams with no issue. His love of people compelled him to try to give kisses even when his injured mouth was causing him pain! Within a few days this resilient boy made great strides towards recovery and was able to be discharged from the hospital. Thanks to a wonderful, experienced DVSHR foster family who offered to welcome Charles into their home, we were able to take Charles into rescue. Sir Charles underwent further surgery to remove the foreign body in his stomach. Surprisingly, the veterinarian found and removed a rock AND a piece of glass! Charles made a full recovery and is doing well. Interested in adopting? Visit our website today at www.siberianhuskyrescue.org and complete an adoption application. Mischief loves to give kisses and play with toys. He especially likes to carry around a toy with an emoji face on it. Mischief is the sentinel of the group. Upon veterinary exam, a grade 1 heart murmur (the mildest) was detected. As Mischief grows, the heart murmur may resolve itself. He is being monitored by a veterinarian. Mischief is a spunky boy and keeps up with his brothers and sister. Nothing is slowing this boy down! For more information, we refer to an article written by Janice Thomas DVM on Pet MD, “A small group of murmurs that are common in puppies are called benign (innocent or physiological) murmurs. These do not require any treatment because they usually resolve by 16 weeks of age. Regular monitoring every three to four weeks is advised to ensure that no other problems develop until the murmur resolves.”(https://www.petmd.com/dog/conditions/cardiovascular/c_dg_heart_murmur) Additionally, an article written by Malcolm Weir, DVM, MSc, MPH; Cheryl Yuill, DVM, MSc, CVH; Updated by Amy Panning, DVM, on VCA Animal Hospitals asserts, “It is very common for young puppies, especially large breed puppies, to develop an innocent heart murmur while they are growing rapidly. The murmur may first appear at 6-8 weeks of age, and a puppy with an innocent heart murmur will usually outgrow it by about 4-5 months of age. This type of murmur is benign (not harmful). In general, a physiologic or innocent heart murmur will have a low intensity (usually Grade I-II out of VI) and does not cause any symptoms or clinical signs.” (https://vcahospitals.com/know-your-pet/heart-murmurs-in-dogs) Interested in a puppy?
