Story
Sir Charles is happy, loving and playful 1 to 2 yr old boy. He is mostly quiet, but will “talk” or get mouthy when he wants something to eat, play or go out. Sir Charles adores people, both big and small. He just wants to shower people with affection and be loved. When it comes to other dogs, Sir Charles is not a fan. No cats or small animals for Sir Charles. He would do best as the only pet in the home. Sir Charles is housebroken. He is crate trained and likes to lounge in his crate. When it comes to toys, Sir Charles is all in! Plush squeekie toys keep his entertained, he plays nicely with toys and doesn’t tear them up. He loves to play fetch outdoors and indoors. Sir Charles will retrieve as long as you are willing to toss a toy. Sir Charles enjoys going on walks and playtime in the yard. This active boy will benefit from a Husky savvy family as he needs continued training as he will pull on leash when he sees dogs and wildlife. Sir Charles has shown improvement with his leash training Before Sir Charles came into rescue, he was suspected of being hit by a car so it’s no surprise that he gets skittish with loud noises, trucks, loud cars etc. However, he is not bothered by fireworks or thunder when he is in the house. Charles is comical and will keep you laughing, he likes to try to climb trees to catch squirrels. This loving boy thinks he is a lap dog and enjoys a snuggle with his family. Sir Charles has so much to give and so much potential. With the right family, the best is yet to be! Sir Charles’ Back Story When found, this brave boy was suspected of being hit by a car. He managed to drag himself to safety before collapsing in someone’s yard. Animal Control brought Charles to a shelter where he was examined by the staff veterinarian, but his injuries were traumatic so he was transported to an emergency hospital where he could receive the critical care he needed. After diagnostic testing, Charles' prognosis was guarded He had multiple issues including pneumothorax (a large volume of air in his chest cavity), a degloving injury (severe separation of tissue separated from muscle) to his lower lip, broken teeth, several lacerations on his body and a small foreign body in his stomach (unrelated to his recent trauma) Immediately, he underwent a chest tap to remove the air from his chest, was put on pain medication and stabilized on a chest tube. While in the hospital, Charles’ sweet nature endeared him to the staff. Despite his condition, he tolerated all the procedures and exams with no issue. His love of people compelled him to try to give kisses even when his injured mouth was causing him pain! Within a few days this resilient boy made great strides towards recovery and was able to be discharged from the hospital. Thanks to a wonderful, experienced DVSHR foster family who offered to welcome Charles into their home, we were able to take Charles into rescue. Sir Charles underwent further surgery to remove the foreign body in his stomach. Surprisingly, the veterinarian found and removed a rock AND a piece of glass! Charles made a full recovery and is doing well. Interested in adopting? Visit our website today at www.siberianhuskyrescue.org and complete an adoption application. Story
Meet Frankie! Frankie is a 1 year old male Siberian Husky looking for his forever home. Frankie is the daddy to litter of puppies adopted out over the summer. Frankie is very affectionate and will give you lots of kisses and likes to cuddle. Frankie is dog and people friendly. He is being fostered with 2 other dogs. Ideally Frankie would do best with a dominant female dog in the household. He plays less rough with females. Frankie is very active so lots of exercise and play time is a must. He loves going to the dog park. Frankie is ok in the crate, we are still working with him to further his crate training. Frankie takes food and treats from your hands very gently. True to the Siberian Husky breed, Frankie is an escape artist. He can easily jump a 4ft fence. A secure 6ft fence or a strong lead outside is a must. Frankie enjoys going on walks and walks well with a collar that prevents pulling. Frankie loves toys and chews. Lots of toys are a must or he might get bored and resort to his own form of interior renovation. Bath time, no worries, Frankie loves water! Frankie is somewhat of a typical Husky talker, but not often throughout today. He speaks most when he's playing or wants something. Frankie weighs 54lbs. He is neutered and up to date on vaccinations. If you’re an active family with lots of time to devote to this cuddly boy, you and Frankie may be a match for each other! If you are interested in adopting Frankie, submit DVSHR’s online Adoption Application here: www.siberianhuskyrescue.org/adoption-application Adoption Application Requirements: • Veterinary Reference • Personal References – no relatives; not more than one person from same household. • Phone Interview • Home Check Visit Please Understand: • Please allow 5-7 days for a response. • Any missing information will delay your application. • DVSHR evaluates applicants on the best match for each dog; not a first-come, first-served basis. • Placement of each dog is at the discretion of the dog’s foster home. Story
Goose is a friendly 1 and a half year old who will happily hop in your lap as soon as you sit down. He likes to meet new people and treats everyone like they’re his best buddy! Goose is a climber and a jumper. He will need at least a 5 ft. fence. He also loves to sit on chairs and play with boxes. Playing in water is also a major attraction for Goose, he loves the kiddy pool! Goose is crate trained and good in the car. Goose is house trained and will let you know he has to go out by pacing and crying. Currently, Goose needs to go out to potty every five to 6 hours. Due to his exuberant nature, Gooses would do best in a home with children thirteen or older. Goose is in a foster home with adult dogs and responds well to correction from his senior mentors. He also enjoys playing with dogs his age. Goose is an extremely high energy guy and will need a canine playmate in his new home. Goose plays rough and will need a companion who can match his energy. A combination of walks and play in a fenced yard will help Goose use up his bounty of energy. Goose will not do well on a tie out. Goose is very food motivate and can learn new tricks and routines when treats are involved. Goose weighs 53 lbs. Goose enjoys playing with toys, Kongs, Bene Bones, Nylabones and tennis balls. Unlike most Huskies, Goose is happy to play fetch. Goose cannot be placed with cats or other small animals. Goose is a sweet boy with a bounty of love to give! If you’re an active family with lots of time and energy to devote to a young dog, you and Goose may be a match for each other! Story
Trace is beautiful, very sweet  husky who was found as a stray in a park called the Natchez Trace in northern Mississippi. Trace has settled in well at the rescue, she gets along with all the dog and has shown no aggression, she is friendly and loving. The vet estimates she is around 2 years old.    When she meets new people, Trace’s tail wags. if you are looking for a cuddle, she will curl right into your lap! She loves to run and play, she would love another dog for company and to romp with.     Like any husky Trace needs a family willing to give her the exercise and structure that she needs, ideally she her adopter would have experience with Huskies.      Trace has not been around any cats at the rescue so we can’t be sure how she would react. She does get along fine with dogs and his friendly to anybody that she has met.    Trace  has been spayed, she’s heartworm negative and current on vaccinations. She is ready to make a wonderful family member.  Wags is a struggling 501(c) 3 where one woman in rural Mississippi takes care of about 200 homeless and stray dogs. Adoption donations are the only source of funding for the rescue. Adoption fee includes the transport from Mississippi, vaccines, microchip and spay and neuter. Most of our dogs are in Mississippi and come up by Transport, dogs are listed along the Transport route or in an area where we may have volunteers who can help transport the dogs. We do have some of our dogs in foster homes in the northeast, we always need foster homes. Story
adoption donation : $650 weight 35 lbs Age 5 months as of 4/20   Helena and her sisters Harriet and Hattie are adorable puppies who may be husky mixes but are most definitely adorable, friendly and sweet girls! They are having a grand time in his foster home, romping and playing at Wags and snuggling together in a big puppy pile to nap. Harriet and Helena look practically identical, Hattie is the blond. Their brother Henry has already been adopted.  The puppies were found by a truck driver in a rural part of Mississippi, abandoned in a deserted field. Two of the siblings had already sadly passed away. The driver gathered up the remaining pups and brought them to Wags. Since then, the three girls have thrived, getting the vet care, food and vaccines that they need. They are friendly and loving and will make great family dogs. They are also very mellow! They like to run and play outside but at home they are couch potatoes!  Hattie, Helena and Harriet are currently in Mississippi and would love to board the transport anytime in the next couple of weeks and head to the northeast! These darling girls are ready to give sloppy kisses to the lucky family who adopts him. Story
Meet Twilight! This gorgeous 3-year-old Husky girl is full of spirit and ready for her next adventure—but this time, with a forever family by her side. Twilight came to us after being surrendered from a mill, where her love of freedom (and impressive ability to hop a barn half-door) proved a little too much for the setup. Classic Husky! Twilight is incredibly friendly with people and gets along well with other dogs. She walks nicely on a leash for a Husky—which is to say, she’s doing great, but a no-pull harness and some consistent training will help her shine even more. She’s getting the hang of crate and kennel time and adjusting well to life as a beloved companion. If you’re looking for an affectionate, fun-loving dog with a little mischievous sparkle in her eye, Twilight might just be your perfect match. Twilight is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on age appropriate vaccinations. Interested in adopting Twilight? Fill out an application at www.dogtownrescue.org. An approved application and appointment are required to meet any of our dogs. Dog Town Rescue 📍 1553 Bethlehem Pike, Hatfield, PA 19440 PA Kennel License #12275
