Story
Meet Jovi! Jovi is around 11 months old now. She’s a 40lb husky mix, and she has been patiently waiting for a home of her very own since she was a puppy. Jovi came into our shelter with her littermates back in April after being rescued from a terrible hoarding case. And we can hardly believe how far this girl has come. When she first arrived, she was a terrified little puppy covered in layers of waste, and now look at her. She’s happy, clean, beautiful, and full of personality. We never imagined we’d watch Jovi grow from a scared puppy into an adult right here in our kennel. But that’s exactly what’s happening. Jovi can be a little shy when she first meets you, but give her some time to warm up and you’ll get to see the real Jovi. She’s goofy, playful, silly girl who loves having fun! She’s learned SO much since coming to us, and now she’s ready for the next step: a home where she can continue growing into the happy, confident dog she was always meant to be. Earning Jovi’s trust is actually pretty simple. Give her a calm voice, spend some time with her, be patient... and bring TREATS. Lots of treats. The way to this girl’s heart is definitely through her stomach! Jovi would do best with another playful dog in her home. Having a playful doggy sibling would help her continue building confidence, learn how to be a dog, and give her the companionship she needs as she experiences something completely new... a loving, clean, and stable home of her own. Jovi is playful. She’s happy. She’s goofy. And she is so incredibly deserving after everything she’s been through in her first months of life. She doesn’t need anything fancy. She just needs patient and understanding people, a doggy sibling, and a safe place where she can finally grow up knowing what it feels like to be loved. Jovi has spent far too much of her life waiting. We’d really love for her next chapter to finally be in a home. Please come meet Jovi. We promise, she’s worth it. All of our adoptable pets are... - Spayed or neutered - Vaccinated - Blood tested - Microchipped - Flea treated & dewormed You can email us at adopt@whiteoakanimalsafehaven.com or give us a call at 412-672-8901 for more info!

Meet `Buck`!Buck is an older man, at 11.5 years old and 52 pounds, he is looking to spend his golden years on someone`s couch, and taking walks to smell the flowers. Buck came to us with significant skim problems and takes daily medications to help mitigate his skin flare-ups. He is also on a special diet. He loves to take long walks! He would prefer to spend his last years as the only dog and get all the attention. He will need to meet all humans before adoption, no children under 10.

Story
Meet Skye! Adventure is calling, and Skye is ready to answer! This beautiful 2 year old husky came to us as a stray after being found and taken to animal control. Now, she’s hoping her next stop will be her forever home! Skye is a friendly, energetic girl who loves being around people and is always ready for her next adventure. She would do well with other active, playful dogs and would love a canine companion who can keep up with her energy. Like most Huskies, Skye has plenty of energy to burn, so she’s looking for an active family who will include her in their adventures....whether that means long walks, hiking, exploring, or simply finding fun ways to keep her busy and happy. ❤️ When Skye isn't adventuring, she’ll be perfectly happy being your loyal companion and soaking up all the love she can get. Skye is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, and microchipped, so she’s ready to pack her bags and start her next chapter. If you’re looking for a fun-loving, energetic companion who is ready to explore the world by your side, Skye may be the girl for you! 🐺💙

Story
Meet Pogo — Three Legs, One Huge HeartPogo is a handsome, blue-eyed Husky weighing just 38 pounds. He came to us through animal control after being found on the streets with a shock collar embedded in his neck and only part of one leg remaining. His neck wounds have since healed, and he recently underwent surgery to amputate the damaged leg. After everything Pogo has endured, it is incredible that none of it has changed his beautiful personality. He is one of the friendliest, happiest, most wonderful dogs you could ever meet. Pogo is a truly gentle soul without a mean bone in his body. He loves adults, children, cats, and other dogs. He is estimated at about 1-2 years old. Having three legs does not slow Pogo down one bit. He runs, plays, and jumps just like any other dog, and he is ready to enjoy all the adventures and affection he missed before coming into rescue. He is doing well with house training, although his new family should be prepared to continue reinforcing good habits while he adjusts to a new routine.Like many Huskies, Pogo is intelligent, active, expressive, and not shy about sharing his opinion. He does not enjoy being crated and will demonstrate his impressive Husky howl when placed in one. His adopter will need to work patiently on helping him feel safe when left alone and finding a secure routine that works for everyone.Pogo deserves a committed family that understands adopting a dog is a lifelong responsibility. He will need daily exercise suited to his abilities, mental stimulation, continued training, proper nutrition, routine veterinary care, grooming, and plenty of time with his people. Because Huskies can be clever escape artists, a secure home, careful supervision, and always being kept safely leashed outside an enclosed area will be important.Pogo survived unimaginable neglect without losing his love for people or his joy for life. Now he is ready for the safe, devoted forever home he should have had all along. Whoever adopts this remarkable boy will be gaining an incredibly loving companion and a very special best friend.Application can be found here—https://airtable.com/shrAznkHf1ruIqQwq
