Meet Hugo Hugo is a 7-month-old, 35-pound puppy Husky mix. He came to Paws after a difficult start in life as one of more than 67 dogs rescued from an animal hoarding and abuse situation. Personality and Trust Because of his past, Hugo needs a kind, patient adopter who is willing to give him time, consistency, and reassurance as he learns to feel safe. He can be very skittish at first and may not feel comfortable around new people right away but will warm up to his people. Once trust begins to build, Hugo’s sweet and affectionate side shines through. He loves spending quiet time on the couch, cuddling close, and giving kisses to the people he trusts. Behavior and Training In social situations with people or other dogs, Hugo may growl or bark when he feels unsure, but he has not shown aggression. He may also try to run and hide, so he will need gentle support and gradual exposure to help build his confidence. Looking for a big, dainty, princess of a puppy? If so, stop scrolling and let me tell you a little bit about myself... My name is Zara, and I am a 10-month-old blue-eyed beautiful girl weighing in at around 55 lbs. (and likely to continue to grow a bit). As you can see, I am extremely cute and cuddly with silky soft and fluffy fur. You would be surprised how little I shed (for now, anyway.) I am told I am a husky mix. I look much more like a husky than my brothers did, but I surely don't act much like a husky. I don’t howl, dig, or try to escape. I am, however, a picky eater  -- not just with food, but you also better feed me using my favorite bowl and I will only eat when I feel like it! Along with my two brothers, I was rescued from the streets of West Virginia. We do all love being outside but certainly appreciate the beds, couches, covers, meals and treats we have become accustomed to too. But mostly we love our people! Favorite hobbies include walking, playing with plush toys, people and dog watching and relaxing. I love to play and often entertain myself by throwing my toys and zooming to get them. I like to make a game of taking a sock or slipper here and there, but I don’t destroy them. I am very interested in human food and will jump on the counter to make sure you didn’t forget anything but I promise I won’t jump on you. Other than that, for such a young pup I am calm, cool, and collected. Unlike other dogs my age I know what personal space is. I will let you cuddle me but won’t nag you for cuddles. I take treats so gently. I don’t know many commands or tricks yet, but I am such a good girl. A little training will go a long way. I don’t bolt out of the door or steps, I’m patient and know how to wait, and I’m getting better at drop it and leave it. I am amazing on a leash (if I do say so) ...just to name a few of my best qualities :) Things that need work: I’m friendly, but reserved when meeting new people (especially children). Everything is very new to me. The shelter I was rescued from said I don’t like cats, but my foster mom says I just look at them and don’t seem to want to chase. I’m interested in birds but haven’t explored chasing them. Things I’ve (mostly) perfected: I am house trained and crate trained. I’m very friendly, but need a moment to warm up with most people, and my foster mom has labeled me as a wonderful companion.  If you are interested in having an all-around good girl, a sweet dog to adventure with, hug, play and walk with, apply for me today! Top of the mornin' to ya! It's me Mullen, the most pleasant lad you'll ever meet! You don't hear about many Irish Siberian Huskies now do ya? But, here I am! With my ginger-red coat I am the talk of the town, however, I can only be adopted in my town because I am kind of an anxious kind of fellow. I love other dogs and must be adopted with another calm/confident dog please. My new owners need to be patient and great at building confidence in me, as I never was loved on as a pup so I am still nervous with new people and in new situations. However, I am very smart and learn quickly!! Some basic information about Mullen; he is male, Siberian Husky mix, and expected to be medium-sized (20-59lbs). Local adoption fee is $300 (in TX)
