Meet Jovi! Jovi is around 11 months old now. She’s a 40lb husky mix, and she has been patiently waiting for a home of her very own since she was a puppy. Jovi came into our shelter with her littermates back in April after being rescued from a terrible hoarding case. And we can hardly believe how far this girl has come. When she first arrived, she was a terrified little puppy covered in layers of waste, and now look at her. She’s happy, clean, beautiful, and full of personality. We never imagined we’d watch Jovi grow from a scared puppy into an adult right here in our kennel. But that’s exactly what’s happening. Jovi can be a little shy when she first meets you, but give her some time to warm up and you’ll get to see the real Jovi. She’s goofy, playful, silly girl who loves having fun! She’s learned SO much since coming to us, and now she’s ready for the next step: a home where she can continue growing into the happy, confident dog she was always meant to be. Earning Jovi’s trust is actually pretty simple. Give her a calm voice, spend some time with her, be patient... and bring TREATS. Lots of treats. The way to this girl’s heart is definitely through her stomach! Jovi would do best with another playful dog in her home. Having a playful doggy sibling would help her continue building confidence, learn how to be a dog, and give her the companionship she needs as she experiences something completely new... a loving, clean, and stable home of her own. Jovi is playful. She’s happy. She’s goofy. And she is so incredibly deserving after everything she’s been through in her first months of life. She doesn’t need anything fancy. He can be very skittish at first and may not feel comfortable around new people right away but will warm up to his people. Once trust begins to build, Hugo’s sweet and affectionate side shines through. He loves spending quiet time on the couch, cuddling close, and giving kisses to the people he trusts. Behavior and Training In social situations with people or other dogs, Hugo may growl or bark when he feels unsure, but he has not shown aggression. My name is Zeus, and I’m a 10-month old husky mix (not sure with what, but does that even matter? Look how freakin’ HANDSOME I am)! Currently weighing in around 60 lbs and likely to gain a little more floof. Silly, bouncy, sleepy, snuggly, with ME, you get the best of both worlds! I love taking walks and going for adventures (I walk very nicely on a leash), and I equally love snuggling up next to my people on the couch. I am dog friendly and crate trained, and love taking naps in my crate after a play session or walk. Although I am *technically* a husky puppy, I don’t particularly act like one (I hear they’re cray and I don’t identify as such). I am sweet and friendly, but I am also new to this world and learning what everything is around me through exploration. I absolutely love to help clean off the kitchen counter, and I am especially good at finding little treats when I go for walks. I once found 2 Klondike bar wrappers AND a cup of pudding within 5 minutes while crossing a bridge downtown, can you believe my luck!? Come with me, I will show you the way to sweet treats. I will even look through your closet to help you with some fall cleaning before the winter hits! The ideal home for me would be one committed to letting me keep my crate (this is my safe space), daily walks, and training (I haven’t been on this earth for very long, plz help). I am housebroken, but since I’m still a pup (even though I look like a grown man, which means you can take me to dog bars and questions will not be asked), I need to be let out every 3-4 hours & should not be left home alone for longer periods of time until I am older and my bladder adjusts accordingly. Mia is a social, affectionate girl who seems happiest when she gets a chance to leave the shelter kennel behind and spend time with people. Volunteers describe a sweet girl who walks nicely on leash, greets people with a wagging tail and soft smile, and actively seeks out affection. She’s even been known to flop right over for belly rubs. 🥹 Mia has also greeted neighboring dogs with relaxed, friendly body language and a wagging tail. Once outside of her kennel, she settles in and seems genuinely happy just having companionship and a chance to decompress.
