Story
Kaya is a very special young lady. She is shy at first but once she warms up to you she will cuddle, play, anything you like. Kaya is 40lbs.She is very smart. She learns extremely fast.Kaya is crate trained, and she will hide inside her crate until she knows she is safe. Once she is alone with you though she bonds.Kaya is so soft and cuddly, she is getting used to being brushed, and she found out she likes a bath. Kaya is housebroken. She Loves playing with all the dogs here, doesn't mind my 2 cats...not sure if she will chase because my cats stand their ground, and lived in a home with young children. Kaya is lazy if you want, or energetic, she's perfect. The family that had her could not keep her due to their new trailer park not allowing Kaya's breed. She was spayed April 13th and is ready to go Home and show someone alot of love.Kaya is beautiful inside and out. She has so much love to give and the best hugs. She will touch her cheek to yours for her special hug. Warms the heart.

Story
Meet Luna 🩷 At just 1 year old and 36 lbs, Luna is the perfect petite package with a big personality to match. This girl turns heads everywhere she goes with her stunning icy blue eyes and unbelievably soft fur… but it’s her fun, loving personality that really steals the show. Luna is smart, curious, and always ready for her next adventure. She has that playful, puppy energy and would thrive with an active family who’s excited to include her in daily life. Whether it’s exploring outside, going for a car ride (she hops right into her crate in the back like a pro), or playing with her favorite toys, Luna is all in. She’s also the best mix of fun and snuggly. After she gets her energy out, she’s more than happy to curl up and soak up all the cuddles. She does great out in public, handles bath time well, and gets along great with dogs. Luna may be small in size, but she’s got a big dog heart and energy to match. If you’re looking for a fun, affectionate, and adventurous companion, she could be your perfect match.

Story
Meet Juneau! Age: 6 months Sex: Male Breed: Husky Mix Expected Weight: Medium-sized (45-60lbs) Juneau is a sweet and gentle puppy searching for a patient and loving forever home. He came to us with his sisters from a terrible hoarding situation where he had very little exposure to the world outside of that environment. Because of this, everyday things like walks, toys, affection, and routines were completely unfamiliar to him at first. When Juneau first arrived, he was understandably nervous and unsure, but with patience and consistency, he has been making wonderful progress and slowly learning how to trust. As the big brother of the group, Juneau feels most comfortable when he has other dogs nearby. He absolutely adores his sisters and gains a great deal of confidence from canine companionship. Whether he’s playing in the yard, going for walks, or simply staying close to his dog friends, having another dog around helps him feel safe and secure. Juneau has a calm, affectionate personality and bonds best through quiet moments, gentle attention, and patience. Once he feels comfortable, his playful side begins to shine through. Because he relies so much on other dogs for confidence, Juneau would do best in a home with a friendly and confident canine companion to help him continue building trust and adjusting to life in a home environment. He is looking for a family that understands shy dogs and is willing to give him the time, structure, and love he needs to continue growing into the wonderful dog he is meant to be. Beneath his cautious nature is a loving and playful boy who simply wants to feel safe and loved. All of our adoptable pets are... - Spayed or neutered - Vaccinated - Blood tested - Microchipped - Flea treated & dewormed You can email us at adopt@whiteoakanimalsafehaven.com or give us a call at 412-672-8901 for more info!

Story
Meet Jovi! Age: 6 months Sex: Female Breed: Husky Mix Expected Weight: Medium-sized (approximately 40–55 lbs) Jovi is a gentle and sensitive puppy with the sweetest personality and the softest eyes. She is searching for a patient and loving forever home where she can continue building confidence and learning what it means to feel safe. Jovi came to us with her siblings from a severe hoarding situation where she had very little socialization or exposure to the outside world. Because of this, everyday experiences like walks, leashes, affection, and even stepping outside were completely unfamiliar and overwhelming to her. Out of her litter, Jovi was one of the most fearful when she first arrived. She preferred to stay hidden and needed extra time to feel comfortable around people and new experiences. With patience, consistency, and kindness, she has made incredible progress and continues to grow more confident every day. Jovi is a quiet and observant girl with a calm, sweet nature. Recently, she has grown to enjoy being pet and now takes walks on her own (we are so proud!!) - huge milestones for this brave girl. She gains a great deal of confidence from other dogs and feels safest when she has a canine companion nearby. Seriously... you should see her romp and zoom around with her siblings! Because of this, Jovi will require a home with another friendly and confident dog to help guide her and continue showing her the world is a safe place. Jovi is looking for a patient and understanding family that will allow her to move at her own pace and celebrate the small victories along the way. While she may take time to fully open up, she has the potential to form an incredibly special bond with the people she trusts. She has already come so far from the frightened puppy who first arrived, and now she just needs a family willing to give her the love, patience, and forever home she deserves. All of our adoptable pets are... - Spayed or neutered - Vaccinated - Blood tested - Microchipped - Flea treated & dewormed You can email us at adopt@whiteoakanimalsafehaven.com or give us a call at 412-672-8901 for more info!

Story
Meet Jaska! Age: 6 months Sex: Female Breed: Husky Mix Expected Weight: Medium-sized (approximately 40–55 lbs) Jaska is a sweet and playful puppy who is ready to find a patient and loving forever home. She came to us alongside her siblings from a heartbreaking hoarding situation where everyday experiences and human interaction were very limited. When she first arrived, the world felt overwhelming and unfamiliar, and simple things like leashes, affection, and new surroundings were frightening to her. Over time, Jaska has been learning that the world is not such a scary place after all, and watching her confidence grow has been incredibly rewarding. Once she feels comfortable, Jaska’s fun and playful personality really begins to shine. She loves zooming around the yard, wrestling and playing with her dog friends, chasing toys, and enjoying all the fun that comes with being a puppy. Other dogs are a huge source of comfort and confidence for her, and she truly thrives with canine companionship. Jaska can be shy when meeting new people and prefers to move at her own pace, but once she feels safe, her curious and silly side comes out. She enjoys affection, happily joins in playtime, and quickly warms up with the help of a few tasty treats. She would do best in a calm and understanding home that will continue helping her build trust and confidence through patience, routine, and positive experiences. A home with another friendly and confident dog would be especially beneficial for her as she continues to adjust and grow. Jaska is still discovering how wonderful life can be, and now she just needs a family willing to help her continue blossoming into the happy and confident dog she is meant to be. When he first arrived, I thought he was much older and that he would be a hospice case. He was stiff and frozen in fear and skinny. He would barely move. I put him in a kennel with younger dogs and he soon found his youthful spirit again and is like a different dog now. I don't know his age for sure but he has lots of life and happiness left in him and I think he is younger than 8. He weighs about 60 lbs now. He learned how to climb out of the 6 ft chain link kennel but he doesn't stray far from it except to follow me on walks. He goes down the pond to take a dip but mostly just hangs out by the kennel. So while he has the skills of a husky to escape, he doesn't have the urge of a husky to run off and go explore. I don't even put him up when I leave because he doesn't go anywhere. He is great with other dogs but sometimes doesn't know how big he is so he wouldn't be good around scared little dogs. Not because he would hurt them, but because they might get scared of him. He is fine with my chihuahuas but they are very bossy and not scared of anything. For that reason, I also don't think he should be around cats. To be clear, he is not aggressive at all, he just tries to play with everything and with his size that just wouldn't work with a dog or cats that's scared of him. He is very food motivated and walks well on the leash as well. He is an awesome boy and I am glad he didn't die at the kill shelter. He is currently still in Oklahoma where he was rescued but he can only be adopted out of state where people treat animals well. He has to be prepaid and picked up directly from transport at one of our transport drop off locations below. If things don't work out for some reason, which rarely ever happens, we will either find a local foster to take him in or he will go back to Oklahoma on our next transport until a new home is found. Note: No dogs are advertised as potty-trained because most dogs need at least some re-training in a new environment and after being in a shelter/rescue environment/strays. www.facebook.com/desideratarescue (copy and paste into a new browser window) Transport locations: - Washington State (Kennewick, Spokane, Tumwater, Tacoma, Tukwila, Lynnwood/Edmonds, Bellingham) - Oregon (Portland and Springfield) - Colorado (Ft Lupton) - Idaho (Heyburn and Boise/Meridian) - Utah (Ogden) - Wyoming (Evanston, Rock Springs, Laramie) - Montana (Missoula) - Illinois (Vandalia, Springfield, Chicago) - Indiana (Spiceland, Burn Harbor) - Michigan (St Joseph, Battle Creek, Ann Arbor) - Wisconsin (Madison, Wausau, Eau Claire, Appleton, Milwaukee) - Minnesota (Minneapolis/St Paul) - Iowa (Des Moines) - Ohio (Columbus and London) - Pennsylvania (Erie, Pittsburgh and Harrisburg) - New York (Buffalo and Albany) - Connecticut (Enfield) - New Jersey (Bedminster) - Nevada (Las Vegas) - Arizona (Flagstaff) - Vermont (Brattleboro) Vetting: neutered, microchipped, rabies vaccine, bordetella vaccine, dhpp vaccine x 3, lepto vaccine x 2, dewormed several times, on monthly flea and tick prevention, on monthly heartworm protection, heartworm tested (negative).
