Story
Say hello to Ora! This beautiful husky was saved from an unfortunate situation and she is now looking for her happily ever after. She can be a little shy with unfamiliar faces but she comes around once you pass her sniff test. She was briefly living with some children whom she did well with, and some cats that she was curious about but mostly ignored. She likes other dogs but would prefer they be fairly calm and gentle. This older lady deserves the world and cannot wait to meet her furever family! ---If you are interested in adopting, please come prepared --bring a photo ID, proof of address, and everyone in the home including resident dogs with vaccination history. We are open daily 12-6pm.---The Pennsylvania SPCA - Lancaster Center848 S. Prince St. Lancaster PA 17603Kennel #16516717-917-6979lancaster@pspca.org

Skye is a 5 year old husky who needs a home where there is no small animals and lots of yard for exercise! Good girl just needs better home! She has seizures occasionally. Usually her eating anything other than dog food/treats will set off her seizures. Uses diazepam after seizure. But not on daily meds. Needs someone experienced with this breed and seizures. Unfortunately cant afford her needs.

Story
Meet Buddy:  Buddy is a friendly Husky/Pyrenees/Shepherd/Golden Retriever mix that is 1 year old (as of July 2025) and weighs around 79 lbs. Buddy was found as a stray in a subdivision going from house to house looking for someone to help him. Buddy is very friendly and loves people. We are working with him on jumping up and hugging you, walking on a leash and counter surfing. Buddy is very playful and loves to play with lots of toys or grab a rug/robe and run in the yard with it. He is crate trained and has not had one accident in the home. He gets along with other dogs and because he plays hard we would recommend no small dogs. Buddy definitely needs a fenced in yard and a family that is very active. Buddy is up to date on all his shots and neutered. If you are interested in adopting the sweet boy, please go to our website at charliescrusaders.org and fill out our adoption application. REQUIREMENTS: Fenced in yard and another dog in the home. CURRENT LOCATION: Foster Home in Pottstown, PA 19464 Kennel License #17584 ##2367372##

Story
Meet Ace: Ace is estimated to be about a 3 year old (as of December 2025) husky / pittie mix (best guess) that weighs 57 pounds. Ace entered our rescue when his elderly owner was hospitalized and couldn't care for him any longer. Ace is currently being fostered in the south and would love to take the freedom ride north to Pennsylvania to meet more prospective families. Ace is super friendly and super energetic. Ace loves to meet new people and is very social. Ace likes to be active and could do really well with training to stimulate his mind and harness his energy. Ace loves to go for car rides. Ace likes to play with toys. Ace is affectionate and eager to please. Ace does well with other dogs and cats. Ace is house trained and crate trained. We would love for Ace to have a home with a fenced in yard so he can play freely. Ace is up to date on his shots and neutered. If you are interested in giving this handsome guy a great home, please go to Charlie’s Crusaders website (www.charliescrusaders.org) to fill out an application. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs.  Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families.  We have many sponsorship dogs.  Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :) When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :)  So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue.  Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding.  Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :) Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us! Update: Name: Mya Breed: Alaskan Malamute (size of a husky) Age: 6 years Weight: 50 lbs. Spayed Personality: Calm, affectionate, social, stable around new things, adaptable, aptitude for learning Mya is a stunning Alaskan Malamute with a soft coat, bright eyes, and a warm, grounded temperament. At 6 years old, she’s the perfect blend of playfulness and mature; a dog who knows how to enjoy life, connect deeply with her people, and bring a peaceful presence into any home. She has many wonderful years left to give to the purrfect family. She does this routine wonderfully and thrives with consistency. Mya’s Ideal Home Mya would flourish with a family who appreciates a calm, loving companion who still enjoys playtime and outdoor adventures. She’s adaptable, steady, and happiest when she’s included in daily life. A fenced yard is a bonus, but regular walks and quality time are what she values most. Health & Adoption Info Mya is healthy, well-mannered, and ready to meet the people who will cherish her. She’s eager to start her next chapter and share her heart with a family who will love her just as deeply in return. Recommend getting her established with a groomer and going by their recommended frequency so she doesn’t become irritable with matted fur and get hot spots. Also, with any resources of value with any dog supervision, especially with a new home transition period and teaching young kids not to pull on tails, paws, fluffy hair, and more, sets things up for success. Mya will come with 4 free sessions with a professional trainer to help with home balance and help give insight on things with your routine that can help her bond with your family and create an easy, comfortable transition. If you’re looking for a gentle, loyal, affectionate dog with a mature spirit and a playful heart, Mya is waiting to meet you. We do not adopt dogs to renters. Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not. We do not take the adoption process lightly, and will do everything in our power to make sure the animal is placed correctly the first time around for your sake and theirs. Thank you for choosing to adopt not shop!
