Story
Meet Buddy:  Buddy is a friendly Husky/Pyrenees/Shepherd/Golden Retriever mix that is 1 year old (as of July 2025) and weighs around 79 lbs. Buddy was found as a stray in a subdivision going from house to house looking for someone to help him. Buddy is very friendly and loves people. We are working with him on jumping up and hugging you, walking on a leash and counter surfing. Buddy is very playful and loves to play with lots of toys or grab a rug/robe and run in the yard with it. He is crate trained and has not had one accident in the home. He gets along with other dogs and because he plays hard we would recommend no small dogs. Buddy definitely needs a fenced in yard and a family that is very active. Buddy is up to date on all his shots and neutered. If you are interested in adopting the sweet boy, please go to our website at charliescrusaders.org and fill out our adoption application. REQUIREMENTS: Fenced in yard and another dog in the home. CURRENT LOCATION: Foster Home in Pottstown, PA 19464 Kennel License #17584 ##2367372##

Story
Oliver is a very good boy, but has had a hard time adjusting to life with a baby in the home. While he loves kids, he doesn't do well with young kids in the home that draw attention away from him. He would do best with children school age, or older. He has lived with another dog, and a cat and does well with both. He's well trained and very smart, but he requires a lot of attention and a lot of exercise.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs.  Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families.  We have many sponsorship dogs.  Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :) When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :)  So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue.  Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding.  Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :) Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us! My family dumped me at the shelter :(  I have no clue why.  I do everything I can to be the best dog ever.  I was REALLY scared and sad at the shelter so they sent me to this thing called a foster home and I did really good :)  No one came to adopt me and 2nd Chance said I could come live with them so now I live with my foster dad and my cat friend and life is good :)Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please fill out an adoption application: Adoption application (Dog) Adoption Application (Cat)   Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. We do not adopt dogs to renters. Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not. A pet is a lifetime commitment. The dogs and cats in our system find themselves there, for the most part, because their humans did not have the same loyalty to them as they did to their owners. We do not take the adoption process lightly, and will do everything in our power to make sure the animal is placed correctly the first time around for your sake and theirs. Thank you for choosing to adopt not shop! Story
Karma currently lives in a home where he's cherished, but unfortunately, his owner's life has gotten too busy with work commitments and a new child, leaving Karma to spend too much time in a crate. He's in dire need of a loving family that can shower him with the time and attention he so rightly deserves. Karma is a 2.5-year-old pitbull/husky mix, weighing 60 lbs. He's a high-energy, house-broken, and crate-trained dog who lives for playtime! He's up-to-date on all his shots and has been neutered. Karma would thrive in a home with other dogs that match his size and energy level, provided a dog meet is arranged before adoption. Since he hasn't been around cats, we can't guarantee his compatibility. Due to his size and energy level, a home without small children would be ideal. Karma is an 'inside' dog who would love a home with a fenced-in yard to play in. We're seeking Vet references from potential adopters.

Story
Have you ever driven a Kia? Well, my name is Mia and I am faster than any Kia! I love to run, sniff and explore. Sometimes I scare myself because I'm still adjusting to new experiences, but that doesn't mean I'm not curious! I am doing great with potty training and working on my confidence. I currently live with 4 others dog friends and we get along well. If you like running, playing and exploring, don't buy a Kia, adopt me, Mia!!

Story
Violet is a very sweet, calm, even-tempered dog. She does not have the high-energy of our other huskies. She is a cuddler and a lap dog. She has been raised with another husky, a malamute, and three children, ages 16, 12, and 2. Violet loves to be with people. She loves to snuggle and sit right up against her people and other dogs. Violet likes to go for walks and lay in the sun outside. Violet does very well with children and other dogs. She is calm in nature and would do well with anyone who gives her lots of attention. Violet has had dog training classes, and is easily trained. She loves to work for treats and attention. She walks well on a leash. Her only behavioral issue is that she has been known to escape as huskies do. She has dug under fences and has run through an electric/invisible fence several times. She would need to be in a home with a secure fenced-in-yard. Violet is up to date on all her physicals and vaccinations and has no medical issues.
