Story
Recently returned for being too much for the children in the home. Rexter is ready to find a family willing to put in some work to help him succeed. Rexter was found as a stray and never reclaimed, so we don’t know much about his past. What we have learned is that this handsome husky has plenty of personality and absolutely knows how to use his big husky voice. He’s happy to let everyone know when he’s excited, ready to go, or has something to say. Rexter is an outgoing guy, but he also has an independent streak and likes to do things on his own terms sometimes. He enjoys attention and will come over for pets when the mood strikes him, but he’s not the type to constantly demand it. He would love a family that appreciates his confident personality and gives him time to settle into a new routine while getting to know him. Rexter is ready to bring his charm, opinions, and husky sass to a home of his own. 3159 Susquehanna Trail N York PA 17406 Kennel #3537

Meet our happiest boy, Prince! He enjoys long walks and playing in the yard with his human and dog pals! Stuffed animals are his favorite toys! Prince does well with other dogs. He has no history with cats, though he may do best without cats due to his breed. He would do best with older children due to his exuberance at times! Story
Siren is an incredibly loving, people-oriented Husky who forms deep bonds with her humans. Beneath her affectionate nature, she is a shy and sensitive girl who can take time to feel comfortable in new environments and with new people. Because of this, she will need a patient and understanding home that allows her to build confidence at her own pace.Siren does wonderfully with other dogs and must go to a home with a confident canine companion who can help guide her and show her the ropes. Having another dog around not only brings her comfort, but also helps her continue to come out of her shell.Due to her timid nature, Siren should be considered a potential flight risk, especially while she is still adjusting. A secure home environment and mindful handling will be essential to help keep her safe as she settles in.Once she feels comfortable, Siren’s personality truly shines. She loves toys, enjoys walks, and wants to be part of whatever her people are doing. For a Husky, she’s impressively good at relaxing during downtime—after she’s had her exercise, she’s happy to settle nearby and simply enjoy your company.Siren is the perfect mix of playful and peaceful, with just the right touch of classic Husky charm. She is affectionate, loyal, and incredibly sweet, and with the right support, she will blossom into a devoted companion.-- THIS DOG IS IN FOSTER CARE AND AVAILABLE BY APPOINTMENT ONLY; APPLICATION REQUIRED FOR AN APPOINTMENT --The Pennsylvania SPCA - Lancaster Center848 S. Story
Hey I`m Buddy. I sadly had to come to the shelter as my owner passed away, but I`d love to live out my golden years in a warm loving home. I`m a senior dog but I still have some spunk in me and have a playful side. I can be a little sensitive for handling and can take some time to get comfortable with new people. I would Ideally like to be in an adult only home. I am open to living with another dog with a proper introduction here at the shelter. I haven`t been around cats before but am open to try with a slow intro in the home. If I feel like a good fit for your home please come down to the shelter and lets meet!---If you are interested in adopting, please come prepared --bring a photo ID, proof of address, and everyone in the home including resident dogs with vaccination history. Story
I’ve had Nikko for since 2022 when I rescued him at the age of 1. I got him because I wanted my older dog to have a companion (pictured above). He is around 5.5 years old and he is well trained, just has attitude with instructions occasionally which is normal for this breed. He really loves people and going for walks but aside from that he usually sleeps and is lazy most of the day. I am moving across the country and am not able to take them with me unfortunately.
