Story
Violet came to us from a kill shelter with Diesel who has already been adopted. Violet has been waiting for a year now to find her family. She is so deserving and loving. Violet is a young, bouncy, happy girl, who is ready for family to love her. She could live with another male companion in the home but would also be just as happy being the only dog in the home where she can get all the attention she deserves. Violet is a sweet, affectionate, smaller girl at 60lbs. and approximately a year and a half old. She is looking for a family with a fenced in yard and no small animals please. *********************************** If you are interested in ADOPTING or FOSTERING, please complete an application by cutting & pasting the following link: https://form.jotform.com/60794585351161 Or visit CHAAMP.org to access the Adoption/Foster link and learn about the process. https://www.chaamp.org/adoption-process Your application tells us about your lifestyle and helps us find a potential match for you and your family. We are happy to work with you. For example, if you don't have a fence, we can help find alternatives and/or a dog that will do well without a fence. A home visit is required prior to adoption/fostering. You can visit the malamute(s) once you've completed the process. Alternatively, you may volunteer and learn how rewards-based training brings out the best in malamutes. ********************************* CHAAMP accepts applications from Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia, and Washington DC. ADOPTION FEES ~Senior dogs (8+ years old): $100.00 ~Adult dogs (2 years up to 8): $300.00 ~Puppies (6 months - 2 years): $350.00 ~Puppies under 6 months: $375 All Malamutes are microchipped, spayed/neutered, and up-to-date on vaccines. Puppy fees are higher due to more vet visits and vaccines. The adoption fee helps us cover these costs. ********************************* We highly recommend the following links that you will need to cut and paste: Kathy Sdao’s SMART x 50 (Capture & Reward Good Behavior) https://babysafedogtraining.com/kathy-sdaos-smart-x-50-another-way-to-use-1000-treats/ Building Your Dog's Confidence by Victoria Stilwell (FREE Online Course) https://www.vsdogtrainingacademy.com/enroll/demo/ Shy Adopters Guide https://www.shelterdogplay.org/_files/ugd/7c885c_2f9fe1f87ea24376912b6e0b18e41998.pdf ********************************* CHAAMP is not a shelter and is run by 100% volunteers. CHAAMP is a proud rescue member of the Pet Professional Guild. We say no thank you to Shock, Prong, Choke, Pain, Force, and Fear. Story
Meet Jimmy - Your Next Adventure BuddyJimmy is a 4-year-old Husky mix with a good head on his shoulders and a heart ready for something more. Found as a stray and never reclaimed, Jimmy isn’t stuck in the past - he’s ready to move forward with someone by his side. This handsome guy is everything you’d expect from a Husky mix: smart, alert, and always ready to go. At 72 pounds of solid muscle, Jimmy would make an incredible hiking partner or outdoor companion. He truly enjoys being outside, exploring, and staying active with his people.Because of his size and strength, Jimmy would do best in a home without small children - he’s a big, strong boy who could easily knock someone over without meaning to.It appears Jimmy may have spent a lot of time kenneled in his past, as his incisors are worn down to the gum, possibly from chewing on metal. Despite that, he remains a kind, resilient dog who hasn’t let his past define him.Jimmy has tested positive for ehrlichia, and the shelter will send his medication home with him to keep him on the right track. He’s a really good dog, just waiting for someone to give him the life he deserves.

Story
5 year old male husky mix. Great with young kids. Very good and sweet dog. I have become very allergic to him and other animals. Looking for a good caring home for him. He is a super sweet and loving dog. He also fits in everywhere and makes himself at home. He shouldn’t have any issues getting used to a new home. Argos needs more attention ans exercise than we can give him. Looking for a good home that can spend time walking him and doing things with him.

Story
Location: Henrico, VA Thunder is a loving, people focused dog who bonds quickly with adults. He enjoys walks, time outside, and quiet moments with his humans. He is sensitive, eager to connect, and happiest when the world is calm and predictable. Training and Behavior He is learning crate training and doing well with it. He aims to please and responds well to encouragement. Like many young dogs, he is still figuring out how to handle new environments and busy spaces. At his first big holiday gathering he found the noise, movement, and toddlers a bit overwhelming. Social Life Thunder thrives with adults and older teens. He is not comfortable with young children, whose fast movements and unpredictable energy are stressful for him. He settles quickly once he feels safe and enjoys quiet companionship. Best Home Fit Thunder will shine in a calm home with adults or older teens. He will do best with structure, clear guidance, and a peaceful environment. In return you will get a loyal companion with a big heart and a gentle soul. He is ready for a home where he can feel secure, understood, and loved.
