Story
This is Nyla, our sweet 6 year old husky. She loves treats, gets the zoomies when she's excited, & enjoys sitting outside watching people walk by. She is a very loving dog & has been a cherished member of our family.Rehoming her is one of the hardest decisions we've had to make. Between a growing family, busy schedules, & the needs of our young children, we aren't able to give her the time and exercise she deserves. We want to find her a home where she can thrive & get all the attention, adventures, & love that huskies need.

Story
Violet came to us from a kill shelter with Diesel who has already been adopted. Violet has been waiting for a year now to find her family. She is so deserving and loving. Violet is a young, bouncy, happy girl, who is ready for family to love her. Violet would be happiest being the only dog in the home where she can get all the attention she deserves. Violet is a sweet, affectionate, smaller girl at 60lbs. and approximately a year and a half old. She is looking for a family with a fenced in yard and no small animals please. *********************************** If you are interested in ADOPTING or FOSTERING, please complete an application by cutting & pasting the following link: https://form.jotform.com/60794585351161 Or visit CHAAMP.org to access the Adoption/Foster link and learn about the process. https://www.chaamp.org/adoption-process Your application tells us about your lifestyle and helps us find a potential match for you and your family. We are happy to work with you. For example, if you don't have a fence, we can help find alternatives and/or a dog that will do well without a fence. A home visit is required prior to adoption/fostering. You can visit the malamute(s) once you've completed the process. Alternatively, you may volunteer and learn how rewards-based training brings out the best in malamutes. ********************************* CHAAMP accepts applications from Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia, and Washington DC. ADOPTION FEES ~Senior dogs (8+ years old): $100.00 ~Adult dogs (2 years up to 8): $300.00 ~Puppies (6 months - 2 years): $350.00 ~Puppies under 6 months: $375 All Malamutes are microchipped, spayed/neutered, and up-to-date on vaccines. Puppy fees are higher due to more vet visits and vaccines. The adoption fee helps us cover these costs. ********************************* We highly recommend the following links that you will need to cut and paste: Kathy Sdao’s SMART x 50 (Capture & Reward Good Behavior) https://babysafedogtraining.com/kathy-sdaos-smart-x-50-another-way-to-use-1000-treats/ Building Your Dog's Confidence by Victoria Stilwell (FREE Online Course) https://www.vsdogtrainingacademy.com/enroll/demo/ Shy Adopters Guide https://www.shelterdogplay.org/_files/ugd/7c885c_2f9fe1f87ea24376912b6e0b18e41998.pdf ********************************* CHAAMP is not a shelter and is run by 100% volunteers. Story
Location: Henrico, VA Thunder is a loving, people focused dog who bonds quickly with adults. He enjoys walks, time outside, and quiet moments with his humans. He is sensitive, eager to connect, and happiest when the world is calm and predictable. Training and Behavior He is learning crate training and doing well with it. He aims to please and responds well to encouragement. Like many young dogs, he is still figuring out how to handle new environments and busy spaces. At his first big holiday gathering he found the noise, movement, and toddlers a bit overwhelming. Social Life Thunder thrives with adults and older teens. He is not comfortable with young children, whose fast movements and unpredictable energy are stressful for him. He settles quickly once he feels safe and enjoys quiet companionship. Best Home Fit Thunder will shine in a calm home with adults or older teens. He will do best with structure, clear guidance, and a peaceful environment. In return you will get a loyal companion with a big heart and a gentle soul. He is ready for a home where he can feel secure, understood, and loved.

Story
Looking for a fun, loyal best friend? Meet Karma — a happy, energetic Pitsky who’s ready to bring joy and love to your home!Karma is housebroken, crate-trained, and up-to-date on his vaccines. He’s a playful boy who loves to run, explore, and then curl up for snuggles. He still thinks he’s a puppy and doesn’t always realize how big he is, so older kids are best for his bouncy enthusiasm. He enjoys other dogs with similar energy (a meet-and-greet is required) and knows his basic commands.Karma is a smart, driven dog who would truly thrive with continued training or a “job” — he’d be an amazing candidate for activities like scent work, agility, or other enrichment that keeps his mind and body engaged.Karma is an affectionate dog who’s been waiting patiently at the shelter for his second chance. He’s being rehomed through no fault of his own — he just needs someone to love him back as much as he’ll love you.Complete an application on our website: www.crcpa.org/online-applicationCanine Rescue of Central PAKennel #3443

Story
Meet Taz—a 3-year-old pitbull/husky mix with blue eyes so bright they probably don’t even need charging.Taz is what happens when you mix “total goofball” with “professional good boy.” He’s got energy for days, enthusiasm for everything, and absolutely zero awareness that he is not, in fact, a lap dog the size of a couch. He loves other dogs and does well with dog-savvy cats, but fair warning: if the cat runs, Taz thinks it’s an invitation to the world’s most exciting (and completely unapproved) game of chase. No malice—just vibes and questionable decision-making.Kids? He LOVES them. Extremely tolerant, very gentle, and always down to be part of whatever chaos they’re cooking up. He fully believes he’s one of the kids, just slightly furrier and way more dramatic.Taz was surrendered due to housing restrictions, not because he ever met a bad day he couldn’t turn into a comedy routine. He’s active, playful, and lives life at full volume. If you’re looking for a dog who will make you laugh daily, keep you active, and occasionally remind you that personal space is a myth, Taz is your guy.If you would like to meet Taz, please submit an application here: https://www.crcpa.org/online-application Canine Rescue of Central PA Kennel #3443

Story
Meet Vela, a 2-year-old Husky weighing 45 pounds of fluff, fun, and fabulous chaos. If you’ve ever wanted a dog who believes personal space is optional and kisses are mandatory, Vela is your girl.Vela is the kind of pup who thrives with room to stretch her legs—she would absolutely love a home with space to run, play, and let loose her adorable zoomies. When she gets excited, she bursts into the happiest, silliest zoomie sessions that are guaranteed to make you smile. She’s lived with another dog and would do well in a home with a canine companion or dog-savvy cats who understand her playful energy. Vela would also do best with older children who can match her enthusiasm and respect her space when she needs it. She’d love an active family who can keep up with her husky spirit and sense of adventure.Vela can be a bit wary of men at first, but with patience, consistency, and love, she warms up and shows her affectionate, goofy side. She’s still learning her commands and polishing her leash skills, so she’s looking for someone willing to put in the time and turn training into a fun bonding experience. The good news? Vela is crate trained and does great being left alone in her crate while her foster parents are at work, settling in nicely and waiting patiently for them to return.Be warned: Vela sheds like it’s her full-time job. If you’re okay with fur on your clothes, couch, and possibly even in your coffee, you’ll fit right in. In return, you’ll get endless affection, laugh-out-loud moments, and a best friend who will happily cover your face in kisses every single day.If you’re ready for an energetic, affectionate, fluffy best friend, Vela can’t wait to meet you. 🐾❄️ Please complete an application at www.crcpa.org to meet Vela in person!Canine Rescue of Central PA, Inc.PO Box 129Dillsburg, PA 17019Kennel License #3443
