Oliver is a very good boy, but has had a hard time adjusting to life with a baby in the home. While he loves kids, he doesn't do well with young kids in the home that draw attention away from him. He would do best with children school age, or older. He has lived with another dog, and a cat and does well with both. He's well trained and very smart, but he requires a lot of attention and a lot of exercise.

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs. Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families. We have many sponsorship dogs. Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :) When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :) So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue. Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding. Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :) Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us! My family dumped me at the shelter :( I have no clue why. I do everything I can to be the best dog ever. Chai is the spokesperson for this litter. He loves to talk to us, especially when it's feeding time. He is bouncy and adorably playful, and energetic! This little guy is just precious and is full of personality! He will be so much fun for an active family. We dont know the breed of these puppies, they are all different, so there's probably more than 1 'daddy' involved. Mom is very mixed. Chai looks nothing like a husky, but that one blue eye combined with his vocal nature makes me think he might have some husky in there somewhere. He has a beautiful, slick, soft coat. Chai is in the middle size wise, at about 8-9 lbs with a slender build. He will likely be around 50 lbs when grown, but this is just a guess based on his current size and build. He is precious and sweet and he is going to make a great addition to a family! He is good with kids, cats, and other dogs. Currently 8 weeks old at the time of this post. Chai is located in Arkansas. He can be adopted locally, but transport is available to the New England area as well. Adopter must be able to pick up or arrange for someone to pick up for them in PA, NY, or CT on Saturdays. Meet Buddy: Buddy is a friendly Husky/Pyrenees/Shepherd/Golden Retriever mix that is 1 year old (as of July 2025) and weighs around 79 lbs. Buddy was found as a stray in a subdivision going from house to house looking for someone to help him. Buddy is very friendly and loves people. We are working with him on jumping up and hugging you, walking on a leash and counter surfing. Buddy is very playful and loves to play with lots of toys or grab a rug/robe and run in the yard with it. He is crate trained and has not had one accident in the home. He gets along with other dogs and because he plays hard we would recommend no small dogs. Buddy definitely needs a fenced in yard and a family that is very active.
