Story
Luna is such a sweetie! She can feel a bit overwhelmed at times, so she will appreciate an adopter that can support her and be her cheerleader when times get tough. Luna has enjoyed the company of another dog in a previous home and may do well with a canine friend in her next home as well! At this time, HSBV will only rehome Luna to a family without children or with children over the age of 10.

Story
Maggie is 3-4 year old Terrier/Chihuahua/Poodle mix weighing about 15lbs.  Maggie came to us over a year ago from a hoarding case where there were over 60 Chihuahua/Poodle mixes living in a small home in Denver.  They were all incredibly under socialized and neglected, with most of the females being pregnant.  We were able to take in 5 of the pregnant moms from Maxfund to help get them into a safe and comfortable place to give birth and raise their puppies.  We also took about 8 other dogs from the hoarding case to start them socializing and learning how to "dog".  Maggie is now the last dog from the hoarding case and needs her forever family.  Maggie has clearly been through a lot and still has a long way to come.  She is a sweet girl but still pretty timid around humans.  She will come and snuggle with her foster Momma on her terms but it did take an incredibly long time for that to happen.  Maggie really needs a human who can be patient with her and give her a forever home with lots of love knowing she came from an incredibly rough situation and will probaly never be a completely "normal" dog. Her fosters describe her as more of a cat-dog.  We know she could make more progress with some training as well.  We will require she goes to a home with another dog so she can continue to learn how to trust and be a dog. Story
Zeke is a 3(ish) year old Terrier mix (we think mixed with Dachshund) weighing about 15lbs.  Zeke as brought to us because he found himself in an overcrowded shelter in Texas.  His chances of making it out alive where slim to none, so we couldn't say no to giving him a second shot at a life here in CO.  Zeke's fosters have had him about a week and here is what they have to say about him: "Zeke is the most handsome little boy with soulfull eyes. He is supper sweet, a little shy at first, but all he wants is to be near you, soft pets and to rest his chin on your lap or arm and stare into your eyes. He has so much love to give and would love to share it with his new family. He would make a great outdoor companion to go on hikes or walks with. We have not had Zeke long, but he appears house broken and is crate trained, however, it seems like he would make a great sleeping buddy if allowed on the bed. He is very quiet, I have not heard him bark yet. He gets a long with dogs of all sizes and has met our cat with no reaction. He is just a perfect little boy!" Story
Freddy is a 2-3 year old Terrier Mix weighing about 12lbs.  Freddy was surrendered to an overcrowded shelter in Texas.  His hopes for making it out of the shelter were slim to none since the shelter he was in had low foot traffic and more dogs than the shelter could handle.  They reached out for help finding homes for some dogs outside of the area, and of course we couldn't say no. Freddy is a super sweet little pup.  He is one of the only pups we have had who absolutely LOVES kids, maybe even more than adults.  He loves to run around the house playing with the fosters kids and loves to play with the fosters dog.  He is a little nervous around new people, espeically adults, at first, but warms up within 24-48 hours as he settles down.  His forever family will beed to be patient and careful with him the first few days, and understand the adjument period.  Freddy loves to snuggle and will sleep through the night.  He gets along great with cats too.  He is truly just a sweet little man who would love kids or another dog to play with and humans to get all the love and snuggles from. Story
Milo is a 1 year old Terrier Mix weighing about 15lbs.  Milo was found as a stray and brought to a shelter in Texas.  The shelter was incredibly overcrowded and they reached out to us to see if we could take some dogs here in CO to save their lives.  Of course we couldn't say no to Milo.  He has been here for 2 weeks and here is what his foster has to say about him: "He's a sweetheart who will snuggle with you in bed all night if that's your thing. He's very mellow, and good with other dogs, cats, and kids.  He doesn't have a mean bone in his body and wouldn't hurt a fly.  His demeanor is just so sweet and hard to put into words how amazing he is, without meeting him.  He would do great in a home with another dog, but would also do okay on his own.  He loves going for walks and is just an easy guy."
