*PLEASE NOTE: The first step in the process is to complete an adoption application on our website roversretreat.org * Drake is loving life in his foster home, but now it’s time for him to find his furever family… We rescued Drake back in 2020. He is a 7 year old pup now and we guess he is a labradoodle mix. He was adopted a few years ago but recently, instead of contacting us to surrender the Drake back to us when they were unable to keep him, the adopter brought him to the shelter. Not only did they bring him to the shelter, they told the shelter to EUTHANIZE HIM!! Why? Because he is reactive/ doesn’t get along with small dogs, something they knew when they adopted him. Thankfully we were notified and able to get him back into our care quickly. He has been doing so well in foster and deserves to finally find the right people. Drake is a big boy (100+ pounds, but does need to lose some weight) and loves cuddles. He greatly enjoys long walks and car rides. He is super smart and food motivated. Drake is a go with the flow dude who just wants people to love. He would be best as the only animal in the home and with people committed to managing his reactivity. He is very easy to redirect with treats and will thrive with the right people. Drake is currently being fostered in Santa Monica, California area but can be adopted anywhere as long as you can come to SoCal and drive home. *PLEASE NOTE: The first step in the process is to complete an adoption application on our website roversretreat.org . Teddy is a beautiful, 2 year old, 38 lb. male labradoodle w' a somewhat sad history. 6 months ago he was found by animal control abandoned on the streets of Bakersfield. We have been his guardians since. Teddy is healthy, playful, house-broken, a good eater, not food aggressive, obedient, loves sleeping in his crate, is sweet & craves affection. Has had a lot of training & obeys the basics. Full disclosure: From his trauma, he is afraid of other dogs & can be reactive w' people – nipping & sometimes biting because he is anxious & insecure, but has proven to do great & not have these behavior problems in structured environments i.e. the ranch when we're away & in training sessions. Teddy needs strong leadership & structure; someone willing to work w' him to build his confidence. A patient, experienced dog person with a pack mentality. He has great potential w' the right person. Our amazing trainer Brett Endes, “Dog Savant” has offered to assist in the transition at no charge.

He can be very chill and CUDDLY, but he’s also not needy, clingy, or nervous. He’s crate trained, too! He’s happy to just watch tv with you, or get out and about on a good walk. He loves walks and to sniff and explore. Calvin enjoys playing with the 4 dogs who belong to his rescuer. Calvin has so much love to give, and he’d be a great companion for someone who wants to play, go on walks, cuddle, and go on car rides. Remy is a perfect gentleman, house-trained, always studying the world around him and on the lookout for a good challenge, so he can learn something new. He is a goofy boy and still very much puppy like. He gets along good with my two other dogs (boxer and boxer/husky girls), and loves his people he bonds with and learns to trust. He is a curious shy boy at first but once he warms up, he is ready to play and he loves his toys! He can use some help walking better on a leash and to not be so scared but I can see as he builds his confidence, he is only going to get better! He is very treat motivated and wants to please. He is a happy pup that is house trained and pee pee pad trained. He can use some support/training to learn to not jump up when he gets extra excited when he sees his people. He loves to be inside and also likes his time in the yard. He currently has his own setup in the garage that he seems to appreciate. He is somewhat crate trained, I leave the door open for him to his crate but that is where he sleeps and where he goes if he feels uncomfortable or scared. R&R Boxer Rescue has committed to supporting Brody, and finding him his forever family after his previous "rescue" abandoned all dogs they had pulled.
